Hi Man O. My thoughts are that any of our players could be sold and while it would hurt to lose Neves or Traore it is all about building a team not about the individual. If we are going to play a back four we need a whole new back line. Coady, Donk, Otasowie, Podence, Moutinho and Saiss if they stay and Neto when he is fit would be fighting for places in midfield so we would need one more quality midfielder and two quality strikers to come in as competition for Jimenez and Silva. And a keeper if Patricio goes to Roma. So that would be eight new signings at £25million average so £200 million and we are good to go.
Less £50 mill Neves, £50 mill Traore £25mill Boly to Everton and a few more sales and we should break even but have a stronger team.

If I’m to be totally honest, I wouldn’t mind. Traore has been worked out and was largely rendered ineffective last season. Neves I’m 50/ 50 on, he had a poor season overall, but I don’t think he was being used to his full potential.

Traore and Neves will probably do well at other clubs because they fit the style the new manager wants to play but I still want them to be Wolves players.

I'm curious as to what Lage could do with Traore and Neves by being a more attack minded coach. That being said every player has a price and Lage needs to have a squad of players he feels comfortable with and the resources to do so which may come from moving some existing players on.

With Jota and Doherty sold, Patricio and Moutinho grown old and Otto, Neto and Jimenez long term if not permanently injured if we sell Neves and Traore there will be virtually nothing left of the great Wolves side of only 12 months ago.
Indeed when AFN is on and Boly and Saiss are missing Dendonker and Coady will be v lonely - I assume Podence will be injured!
As the replacements bought to date have been largely woefully inadequate we certainly will have a rebuilding task in front of us this summer
Is it wise to tear down a succesful side so completely so quickly and attmept to build again from scratch?
Selling your best players is rarely a good move and yet we seem happy to sell them at modest fees to clubs that 12 months ago were rivals if not below us - but who sadly now appear to be well above us!
Not sure this is a sensible start but hopefully only paper talk and more rationale actions will actually be forthcoming.

Look what Liverpool achieved when they sold couthino, it enabled them to build a title winning team.
Now I'm not saying selling Neves and Traore will have the same effect if they are sold, but they have hardly been pulling up sticks have they?
I can't recall one game Neves dominated last season and Traore is luxury we can sometimes ill afford.
If Lage thinks that selling them to rebuild is the right thing to do then we must trust his judgement.

Neves needs to play more forward, traore needs just a little more end product, so why won't lage sort this,
On this basis I would keep them both for another season,
Patricio, moutinio Jose, saiis, can go
As long as we replace them

Alex, Traore hasn’t been used well and could easily be used more effectively. At times he engages 3 or 4 opposing players and often runs down a blind alley on the right. He often turns back and you’ll see a move starting again from the half way line or further back. However when drawing those 3+ players into his area a quick ball to the likes of Moutinho who then threads a ball forward to willing runners should have been reaping goal attempts in abundance.
Last year’s servings of football were too negative and even though Traore ran his socks off (with no help from officials at times) his efforts were largely wasted by the set up of the team and insufficient willing runs from team mates.
It will be interesting if Traore joins a team like Liverpool how many fouls, free-kicks, penalties and bookings that he manages to win.

Traore wins us free kicks. It's what we do with them that is more worrying. Traore creates space for others to fill, we havnt filled them. More attacking minded midfield needed? Traore does cross who is on it? Jose was once. Traore maybe a luxury but without him how many goals would we have ended with last term? because even without direct assists traore as been involved. We've bigger problems to solve all round so I'd be sorry to see him go but with new ideas come new 'solutions' ( where have I heard that before? ) So I'd like to think that with other personnel traore could be a bigger piece of a team. That said he's an enigma, never knowing what he may do, so if lage is the malable formation tactician he will see him as surplus an a source of income. Neves again hasn't shown the concentration and forward thinking we had grown to expect lage I'm sure will have ideas already and look to sell at a profit and replace. It's sad to say farewell but nunos party is over. Bruno will bring us new desires and hopefully players with fresh aspiration. In Bruno we must trust. COYW.

Big cheese - you are of course correct. If you sell well (above "value") and buy well (ie below "value") then you can massively improve the depth and quality of the squad.
However if you sell badly and buy badly its a debacle!
Take last summer with hindsight how do you view, (balancing fees paid or promised), swapping Jota for Hoever and Silva or Jota for Marcal, RAN and Vitor?
I don't know your age but Southampton sold Shearer for Dixon and Speedie - if you are young look it up.
It didn't go well!
Selling v v rarely does the Coutinho one is almost the exception that proves the rule.
re the 2 players:
Neves was indeed often for him sub par and occassionally over run but we were as a team so hard to blame him in isolation.
Traore also was frustratingly inconsistent but still our best player by several country miles.
Most matches despite being double and triple marked, (showing you where oppossing managers think are threat comes from), he created at least 2 or 3 good chances that were sadly missed by less talented footballers than he is.
You mention Liverpool and have seen what Jota has done there - well Traore is at least twice the player Jota is. As NES says above at a club that can showcase Traore's talents he may well become scarilly good and we will, (like Southampton did), rue the day we gave up and sold him, (with hindsight), far far too cheaply.

Neto rumoured to be going as well.

And Jeff has taken opportunity to take away more power from "coach" so basically Bruce Lee's speccy little cousin can make the club more at Mendez's control.

I am trying to positive but the signs are all there. I can't be a happy clappy like you morons. I just can't. A manager that lost how many games in his last 10? Losing our best players and looking at the likes of Ramsdale. Sorry Jeff already didn't the dirty disclaimer when he mentioned fans not being happy with names we haven't heard of. Guy needs to shut up and eff off back to the land of the frying dog.

I don't trust Fosun. I try to but too many red flags are being waved.

I'm sorry but agree with Fosun out. Especially cause I think we will be left with Dendonker and Cutrone and Neto and co will have all left.

I hope I am wrong. But so far I've been right about so much, including the fact that Nuno was sacked and didn't go "because he missed home" . guy is going to sign for everton and knows Uncle Jeff is a nonce stain that will sell our best players. He will demand Neto, maybe Raul and I can see him hijacking Vitinha and maybe coming in for Coady or semedo.

Mark my words though, Neves, Traore, Patricio, Neto and Moutinho will all be leaving. They are our 5 best players over last 3 seasons. Any dumb stain want to honestly try and claim that is a good thing? Sell for cheap when no replacement is available.
