Q- Does anyone think £35m is a lot to pay for an 18 year old who has only played a few senior games and double what we paid for Neves?

Not that I'm complaining but hope we can invest in some experience aswell as potential.

Sounds like a big gamble to me but if this works out we could have the deal of the decade.

Give him two years and he would be way out of our price league. It is always a gamble - look at Lemar, a world cup winner that Athletico paid 57m for and can now be bought for 25m.

It's at times like this you have to trust the opinion of your club. They haven't got too much wrong so far!

Nigel fine to ask the question mate and no getting away from the fact that all signings are a gamble, bigger the fee bigger the gamble! And we've just broke our transfer fee record! It may not feel like it now but Neves was a gamble. Imagine if he'd turned up in the Champ and just looked lightweight and overwhelmed?! Then you see players like Alexi Sanchez that went from a world class player to not good enough for an average United bench in just 5 months?! No guarantees in life and especially not in football. All comes down to how much you can trust the clubs recruitment, luckily since we arrived in the Prem it's been pretty flawless! I think like others have a eluded to this could be one of those transfers where in 2/ 3 years other fans are saying 'how did Wolves get him for that cheap' fingers crossed anyway 🤞.
