We can't afford a 30m for kessie. What a complete joke. can't afford the personal terms either. Wolves should be going all out to sign him. We don't know the full reasoning behind the failure of the deal or what the player might be demanding. But this is the type of signing we have to try and get over the line to get us to the next level. Wolves seem to want value for money all the time. Kessie is worth 30m at least. Wolves keep trying to get deals done on the cheap which won't get us anywhere. You get what you pay for and wolves WONT do it. You have to pay the fee sometimes to get the quality you need. MAN U wanted maguire and paid over the odds to get him. We are not in that league yet but 30m isn't much in the current market. I have to say after this window i'm seriously concerned at the approach FOSUN are implementing.

Patience fellow Dog head. Small steps is what's needed. Rome wasn't built in a day. I trust the management at the minute. :)

Load of rubbish we can't afford. of course we can afford it.

If a player isn't coming who we want it's because they don't want to come! Nothing to do with money.

I think this window is looking fine now. I had concerns couple weeks back. But cover has been brought in and the window is not finished. They have done well!

The majority of those players we have are not even in their prime. which means ie. The team in all likelihood if kept together will get much better. we don't need massive influx of players and never Have. Don't lose your heads out there.

You need patience. I’m really pleased with the business done so far. Sustainability, squad character and being well within FFP are crucial. Let’s not forget this is only our second season back in the Prem. We’ve overachieved massively so far. Let’s have a bit of a reality check. Top 10 and a run in the cups would do me.

Fans often fail to grasp that FFP rules mean we can't spend like the top four clubs, even though we have the money. The top clubs have had many years at the top, building up spendable resources. Fosun have the money but are constrained in expenditure for the time being.

Deals like stadium naming can bring in so much money. The Etihad and The Emirates come to mind. Sponsorship is obviously more lucrative for these club compared to us.

At Wolves we have to build up income and profits before we can loosen the purse strings.

Some time's you have to laugh at certain fans let's lay it down so you can stop getting your knickers in a twist so Chelsea if I'm not wrong took 3 years to get in top 4 and I believe man city also took as long so we are doing exactly what every club who gets good owners do it takes time to get to the top we have a 5 year plan and we are already 2 years ahead of schedule so stop your damn whining and let the team do what they did last season make every wolves fan proud.

Agree with wlvs82 in a way. I am delighted with Fosun, but if they are serious about eventually wanting to be in Champions League as they claim, they are going to have to up the ante at some stage.

The additions we have made this window have been very good, ideally if we could get a midfield player who can run at defences behind the two strikers that may give us something different when we play teams that crowd the defensive and midfield areas. Harr.

Apologies for the slip of the fingers, I was going to add Harry Wilson did this at Derby last season and could be an option on loan as a squad player.

Indeed the amount we have spent over the past few years has been very impressive. infact this year we have also splashed the cash what with Dendoncker, Jimenez, Cutrone, and the two lads from Braga That is a spend of over 80 million add on the loan fee for Vallejo that's pushing close to the mid 80s I expect us to add one more player which could push that total to 100million then if you look at the money they will spend on our new stadium upgrade then in my opinion Fosun are exceeding what I thought they would do.

Let’s get real here, everyone saying the business done so far in this window is really good. Who honestly had heard of Vallejo, Cutrone or the two young Portuguese fellas before we were interested in them. I follow a lot of football and had possibly heard Cutrones name once before.

Added to the above if you read the spiel from the player/ agent he's not convinced that Wolves are a "big enough club" for him at the moment. Personally I'd only want us to sign players who are committed to the cause, it's not about 30m its about attidude, fitting in and desire - if he doesn't have desire to join the project then I don't really want him here.

RKO.
Agreed. Fans should look up FFP rules. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

I can only think that certain fans are too thick to appreciate that we can't spend as much as we want. FFP says so.

This is the difficult second season where we have to demonstrate we finished seventh because we were good not because we were lucky it's going to be hard to finish seventh again but if we do it's a job well done top six would be amazing.

16.) 06 Aug 2019
06 Aug 2019 17:23:03
Are you happy with neves or boly to name two who didn’t want to come. Once here and playing under Nuno and with team they will feel as one and give all. You lot are doing my nut in your thonk the last couple of seasons haven’t happened the way you all moan.

17.) 06 Aug 2019

Wolvessince77 - great post mate!

I'd also add to the 'not a big enough club' debate. I shake my head at some of these young up and coming 'stars' who WANT a big club and then moan like little children when they get one and don't start every game, or then go on strike to get another move!
I would much rather have our 'down to earth, do the job' type players, squad and management. With the odd exception I can't remember a player not 'pulling for the club' over the last couple of years. If they are giving their all, then they are giving it for US, the real fans.
Keep your premadonnas, I'll take graft and reality any day!

Cuz when it goes to pot like it did for Burnley and most lik it will for wolves your best players will not want to stick around. To carry on improving you have to invest. Mark my words we Finnish where Burnley did and the majority of this team will want out.

19.) 06 Aug 2019
06 Aug 2019 23:08:18
Demon, why have you made Burnley the benchmark. Why not Fulham and Middlesbrough who both got to the final and had good league seasons a few years back. How can you always be so negative?

20.) 07 Aug 2019
07 Aug 2019 01:08:09
I suggest the people who think we don't know how FFP works should think about how we were reportedly looking to spend a lot on Dias but decided the asking price was too high.
How is it we can consider him but not anyone else (because of FFP)?
Try putting on your thinking caps.

21.) 07 Aug 2019
07 Aug 2019 07:11:29
Timmy T spot on, people saying some fans should look up FFP should maybe have a look themselves. We wouldn’t e offering £30m for Rugani or £27m for Kessie if we were being restrained y FFP 🤷‍♂️.

22.) 07 Aug 2019
07 Aug 2019 11:26:24
Media rumours that we've offered huge sums for various players are just rumours. In truth, we end up signing players that were never discussed in the media, and we're all taken by surprise. You all know this.

If you don't understand FFP rules I'm glad Wolves do. Otherwise if we bought all those players mentioned by fans we would be hit by penalties such as points deductions in the future.

24.) 07 Aug 2019

As far as FFP rules go, the amount going against each year is the amount paid divided by the number of years of the contract. So that is £7.5 million pounds for Jimenez. Dendoncker probably signed a 4 year contract, too, so that is around £3 million a year.
So £10.5 for the two big names you are bandying about.
The two youngsters they paid around £20 million for signed for 5 years, I think, so that is £4 million for the two of them.
Cutrone is £18 million for a four year contract is £4.5/ year.
So we get Less that £20 million for all of the permanent signings for this summer to date, as far as FFP goes.
