There are three leagues within the Premier. Top six, bottom six and middle eight. We are clearly established in the middle eight. The only way to go higher is to get better players than the top six. We need two players of the same calibre in every position as they can't play two games in one week at this level. Unless we have players ready to step up from the academy, we need eight to ten players bringing in to the squad over the next two transfer windows of the same standard as City and Liverpool. With Jorge Mendes aiding recruitment, about £300 million should be sufficient.

Even when my Paul is off his meds he doesn't spout that nonsense.

That's magic! (haven't used it in a while)

Merry new year everyone.

Jet Ski yes, the table looks exactly like that. With Man Utd winning again, "normal order" has been resumed.

The bottom 6 are really struggling. I wouldn't be surprised if 30 points is enough to stay up, although end of season results can get weird so maybe 35. To be on 10-15 points at this stage is poor.

I can't recall my prediction for Wolves. Was it 57? Something like that. Did I even post it? Dunno. We are still on for 57 but a few lean weeks might get me to trim that number. Middle 8 it is, anyway. Which puts us in good company, with Everton, Leicester and West Ham more used to mid-Premier finishing if not better.

I think we will get a striker in (and Bonatini out on loan), and surely Doc needs cover. Our CB options are looking thin with Hause looking like leaving and only Dendoncker a worthy replacement for our first choice back 3.
