I for one love bonatini. I think he's a cracking striker for his age and as Paul Tamworth said what more could you want. I'm not a fan of negative fans (ironic I know).

I would love to see afobe back, ok he left, but none of us know all the reasons behind why he left. Afobe would be a great signing and could push us further into the stratosphere on points. If he scores loads will we all be complaining then. If he doesn't off to the baggie brats he goes. Big edd out, up the wolves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he left to play premier league football it's not personall every time a player leaves.

30 Jan 2018 20:30:13
Afobe isn't good enough. End of!

30 Jan 2018 20:41:03
old wolf. he is good enough. his movement and goals will prove you wrong my friend. sportsman bet. he gets 10 at least if he signs.

30 Jan 2018 20:41:06
We're still in the Championship he's plenty good enough for this league and he will always be sellable if he doesn't hack it in the Premier league! He's only 24.

I can’t believe this is still been debated.

Pros-
1) hold up play
2) goal scoring exploits in EFL- 23 goals in 40 odd games
3) young so sellable asset in future
4) knows some of the team already-doc, batth, coady, graham and hause

Cons-
1) an attitude issue with a management that is no longer here- thelwell doesn’t count. :)

And everyone who wanted Clarke back must want Afobe back there is no comparison between the two. I didn’t want Clarke back. But Afobe should come back and get our support. WAW.

30 Jan 2018 21:58:23
Another con is his attitude issue with the fans who ultimately paid his wages. A bit part player for a poor premier team with a lack of ball control so I'm not sure about the apparent pro of good hold up play either. We are all entitled to our opinions but mine is stay on the Dorset beaches spoilt brat.

Most of u on here want a world class striker . ya not going to get him . yet . but afobe can do it at this level . so why ya moaning . he can come in now score the goals we need then big jordes mendes can replace him with Cristiano.

30 Jan 2018 22:10:17
Maybe not Cristiano but ya know where i'm coming from.

Anew - me and you are getting into old ground here now so I'm going to try and avoid doing that BUT I have to ask looking at where we are and how we got there can anyone on here honestly say that they think we won't still go up with Benik?! Cause for me I'm not sure how that's a debate, 12 points clear of autos and 11 goals extra (which essentially makes it 13 points clear of autos)? So if I was the board I would be thinking do we even need him enough?

So with that in mind I think its valid to say what peeps are saying; why sign someone clearly not good enough for the next level when all signs point to that being where we are heading! Also being young is not a pre-requisite for being a sellable asset in fact if stories are to be believed that is the very stumbling block as the club (rightly) don't think he's worth more than a loan!

Also let's not pretend clubs are cueing up to spend what Bournemouth did on him as that clearly just ain't true! Its just to easy to spend someone else's money these days!
For me if he comes in I'll back the lad but if it was on anything more than a loan then I would be worried about the clubs thought process, as we've had TO many previous players bought because of a lack of options rather than true quality (Clarke and Marshall spring to mind) .

Anyway again (as I've said before) I reckon it could be academic, Eddie Howe on Sky earlier saying they've had no contact with anyone regarding players in or out, seems odd him saying that if there's any truth in this as you'd think he'd want to generate interest for a better deal? I mean really on this particular one there seems to be nothing more than an E and S rumour which frankly means nothing!

Afobe. Yes. Take him back in a heartbeat. Even when he supposedly had a bad attitude he scored 10 before Christmas in a poor side. He was lied to and conned - weren’t we all? - by Morgan and Moxey. Told we were going places but the only place we were going was nowhere.

Told we’d spare no expense in replacing Sako then didn’t replace him at all. Saw Dicko get crocked and we were bringing in donkeys to replace him like Sagbo. As we all know money talks in football so when you’re feeling cheated and conned and someone says hey come and play for us instead and we’ll replace your £0.5m a year salary with a £2.5m a year salary who wouldn’t say yes?

That was then this is now. Afobe would score goals and would create goals. He is a very good player. I’d take him back tomorrow 100% and anyone who thinks otherwise I would suggest is letting their heart rule their head.

OODCL.

A deal has been agreed to sign Jota in the summer. By my reckoning it’s because that pushes everything into our new financial year starting in June. FFP is the reason to keep the deal out of the current financial year. I bet the contract is dependent upon promotion though. Smart.

DAS - No heart and head situation here, I just don't think he's that good and actually for me peeps heart is the problem as everyone's chucking on the rose tinted specs. My opinion is based on his recent record 63 apps 10 goals that's just poor plain and simple! One goal all season against a second string Boro team in the League cup also poor plain and simple!

In fact even his record before us when playing at a champ level wasn't that good 40 apps and just 4 goals! For me he had a good 9 months and it got him that Prem move he wanted good for him, but then way back when Ebanks Blake had a good 9 months (scored more than Benik in fact) but no one seems to be shouting for his return (except maybe the local Greggs ;)

Happy to accept I'm in the minority here but this is not the opinion of one once scorned its just someone that's watched every home game he played for us and a lot of what he's done since and I just think he's bang average simple as that! Average first touch at best and no composure, I've said it before and I'll say it again. ask the Bournemouth fans what they think?! Most would cover his taxi to the Mol!

NB - Above post was supposed to say; 'can anyone on here honestly say that they think we won't still go up withOUT Benik'
Sorry for any confusion ;)

30 Jan 2018 23:33:20
Eddie - We could sign anyone of about 10-15 players that would score 10 goals between now and the end of the season in THIS squad! Hell I think Leon Clarke could do it and that's saying something!

BullysBoy I hear your side of the coin and you raise some fair points. However as we all know football is a funny old game. We may be 11 points clear of second. but so were Newcastle United when Man Utd caught them 20 odd years ago. So until thenlets not get too complacent with our views we are not home and dry just yet. The factors that need to be taken into consideration are things such as what if Jota got a 3 game ban for straight red and Cav and Bonantini got injured. We need strengths in numbers. When you look at Afobes record at Bmouth it don't look good. but firstly to point out over 30 of them are as a sub. Secondly that's the prem and we are still in the championship where let's face it he killed it up front for us banging goals in for fun in an average Wolves team. We only need him on a short term loan to add strength in numbers in case of an injury. Common sense would surely tell you that it makes sense. People saying we could do better? Who's better than him at this level and proven to score goals in the league because the only other name that springs to mind is Dwight Gayle. or Glen Murray. I just think people need to look at the bigger picture in that you never know what could happen to players from one day to the next that's why you need at least 2 different players in each position for cover in the even of injuries and suspensions. Obviously this is just my opinion but I think we'd be silly to miss out on a player on a short term loan if he was offered to us or someone of similar proven quality at this level for that matter.

31 Jan 2018 11:05:11
I agree with all your points bullyboy.
But for that loan/ 10m I think it is worth the punt.
If Leo, Cav or Jota got injured we’d Start to look over our shoulder. 25 points are needed to guarantee automatic which everyone expects and hopes for. 18 draws isn’t enough. And I expect the odd loss along the way. Would you trust Mir, Bright and Costa on current form to score 10 between them-I don’t but I like surprises :-)
There’s no pride to swallow on the matter this is business and benik would be an asset in the run in. WAW.

Anew- as always fella that's fair enough we don't all have to agree. Looking increasingly unlikely at this stage but I guess we'll know in five hours. Only thing I would say anew is that peeps are talking like 'just spend the money and its guaranteed' but we both know that just ain't true! Anyone remember when Newc signed Asprilla, there fans said the same thing! Heres a scenario we pay £10m+ for Benik, he comes in and struggles to score and rocks the boat and we don't go up. What then cause if we were on the edges of FFP before we would have jumped straight over it with an extra £10m?! that's what peeps don't seem to realise Fosun I'm sure will be great for this club but they will always be what they will be namely and investment group! They won't risk their investment unless there certain and just not sure there are ANY certainties in the Jan transfer market so then it becomes about managing risk. I think we will see that first hand come the end of this window but then I fully admit I know nothing regarding the clubs transfer movements. As I keep saying time will tell COYW ;)

31 Jan 2018 18:21:30
WeAre- I actually agree with the bulk of your point which is why I'm a bit gutted to see Grabban go to Villa! Think he would have been a perfect answer to our striking issue but there we are. Ask any Villa fan and they will tell you us Wolves fans REALLY can't complain about our transfer policy! ;)
