Have heard a rumour from someone who works at club that we will have new kit supplier next season, Adidas.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not the nazi company. Puma if it has to be German.
Wouldn’t mind a new sponsor though with retro designs like Liverpool’s kit this season.

I would prefer a return to the burnt gold kit we had a while ago, the colour of which was taken from the 1939 FA Cup final shirt. It's distinctive. I feel that we have been getting a bit orange - we'll soon be matching Donald Trumps tan!

I agree Statto Wolf however the club look like they are adapting the dark orange as the new seats in the mol are orange now. Saying that maybe they are willing to go back to old gold for the shirts. With a 70’s collar.

@Anewdawn, a Nazi company? its the same family also!

{Ed033's Note - Doesn't Nazi stand for national socialist and therefore saying the word Nazi (Anewdawn) is nonsense?

Weren't the founder of Adidas and the founder of Puma brothers who fell out. Rudolf Dassler was closer to the Nazi party than Adi.

Interesting one guys. If you read further on Adolf Dassler (founder of Adidas) was setting up his brother Rudolf Dassler (founder of Puma) . The reality been Adidas were intrinsically linked during the Berlin Olympics to the German Olympic squad which at the time was run by the Third Reich for propaganda purposes. Many corporation did try and change there image post war though. Some for me are to close to that regime. Mercedes, Porsche, Adidas to name but a few were too close.

Don't both me if we have 11 players dressed as rommel as long as we finish top 10 in the prem.

15 Jan 2018 18:17:46
Bloody hell lads your getting to deep with this! Adidas is a top brand and kit maker, il be more than happy to buy our top with their name on it!

15 Jan 2018 18:18:22
The founders of Puma and Adidas were brothers.

Probably the biggest ‘Nazi’ brand currently is Hugo Boss. Went from a struggling lone tailor to be given a confiscated Jewish tailoring factory and business and then given the contract to design and produce the Nazi uniforms.

Well said PT. Let's forget the politics and let's concentrate on the football.

I'll lighten the thread:
Nike is old Greek for victory, that's why the "swoosh" mark is a distorted V.

15 Jan 2018 21:53:59
Well said Wazza24. I bet everyone's also seen a Disney film but forget about Walt Disneys political views.

16 Jan 2018 00:09:33
I’m with Wazza on this.

Re Nike, she was the Greek version of the later Roman Goddess Victoria. She was patron Goddess of Sparta.

The Goddess Nike's symbol was an n (like on Spartan 300's shields), that upside down became the tick symbol, which symbolised victory, why it ended up being used by teachers to mark something correct. And is the Nike logo, it's a tick rather than a swooshing V.

The Goddess Victoria's symbol was a V, that was stylised into a pair of wings, like she's wearing on the Brandenburg Gate.

The Spattan shield had th Greek letter L for Lakademion.

Ladies, neither Adidas or Puma are any longer German owned.
