Theres rumours from the portuguese press that miranda wants to move back to portugal. Hope it ain't true as I think he was / is a very cultured ball playing defender who will be more suited to the premiership when we get there than the championship.
Ive seen worse defenders in a wolves shirt and in the premiership.
Whats everyones thoughts?

Must admit out of all our defence Miranda is the one weak link. Just think he's not the greatest in the air gets outjumped alot. Think him supposedly wanting to leave has something to do with this Police investigation.
Saying that though would be sad to see him go, sure he will only get better as time goes by and like you say maybe more suited for the Prem.
I am more concerned about the Boly rumours going round hope there's no truth in it. 🤔🙏.

Apparently dave its to do with lack of game time he feels he's not getting and he's comfortable that he's done no wrong with the allegations against him. I thought he looked top draw against villa and played a blinder. Sorry to see him go if that's the case. Regarding boly I can't see him going anywhere. he's appreciated, gets games, about to play against better players next season and his stock will only rise higher.

Miranda is a total liability, he has poor distribution and doesn't read the game like Boly / Coady. Let him go.

07 Jan 2018 23:08:06
Whatever King Nuno decides is ok with me, of all our centrehalves Miranda for me would be the one to let go.
Kourtney Hause is better in my opinion, & Danny Bath feel sorry for Miranda though, maybe he knew these allegations were coming a while back.

I think if Miranda does leave it will only be on loan until the end of the season. I believe that he was brought in as 1st choice but unfortunately for him, Boly has been outstanding, Coady has excelled beyond anyones expectations at CB and Ryan Bennett proved his worth when Boly got injured. Miranda is a good player and may find that he is a better fit for the Premier League where the pace of the game is slower. Let's not forget that he is a Wolves player whereas Boly, who is considerably better is not so if we can't sign Boly permanently, we already have a CB ready and waiting.

Totally agree jas, he would be suited to the premiership. Would rather have him as back up over batth although even he's improved this season yet still think he's found his level. It seems that english defenders are coached only one way so when it comes to playing out of defence most find it alien. Luckily we have a manager whos years ahead of english coaches . Think what let's miranda down is he's alan hansen esq where he comes across as non plussed, takes things in his stride, maybe he finds the championship boring, feels he's too good for it, who knows.

dont rate him tbf. can't pass from the back. weak in the air. and abit rash. but wish him well.

08 Jan 2018 10:46:09
Too error prone and rash I'm afraid and he'd be completely shown up in the premier. We'll need a better ball playing defender next season on top of Coady, Boly, Hause and possibly Bennett.

Our defenders in order of quality and reliability

Boly
Coady
Bennett
Hause
Batth
Miranda

Won't be sad to see him go on a permanent transfer. Recoup the money and buy an U21 promising centre back to compete on the right hand side of the back three with Bennett/ Batth.

Perhaps we need a promising sweeper to tuck under the wing of Coady too. Only Saiss can contribute with covering tackles and distributing the ball as well as Coady does!?

Boly on another level. Must keep him whatever it takes.

First choice: Bennett - Coady - Boly
Second choice: Batth - Saiss - Hause.

He's about the only disappointment of Nuno's signings. Apart from the defender who's always been injured and whose name I've forgotten. Phil something. The current back 3, with Doc, Saiss, Neves and Douglas in front of them have been exactly what we needed. Bennett was a surprise. Miranda was supposed to be the rock in our defence when he joined, with Boly the reluctant later arrival.

Miranda hasn’t been that bad. His passing was an outlet before boly came in. And he was comfortable on the ball. I don’t think he expected British football where a player holds onto the ball and will have tunnel vision and keep running at you. As in Portugal they would recycle and pass the ball more like wolves are.

I wouldn’t say he was a bad signing he contributed to points early on in the season.

08 Jan 2018 14:17:45
Miranda would not be missed in my opinion, weak in the air and will need better than him if we get promoted makes to many mistakes for me.

08 Jan 2018 15:23:19
I don't think Miranda is going to b sold or loaned out according to Nuno.

08 Jan 2018 16:49:55
I would be sorry to see Miranda go - which I don't think he will by the way - as at the start of the season he, Coady and Boly formed an excellent back three. Yes he had the odd wobble here and there but covered very effectively on the left when Boly was out injured. Definitely prefer him to Danny 'where's my man I'm supposed to be marking gone again? ' Batth.

Also see we are being linked with Jevani Brown a Jamaican striker with Cambridge United. He's had 10 clubs in the past 4 years only, scored 4 in 27 for Cambridge and has a reputation as a trouble-maker from what I hear so no thanks!

08 Jan 2018 16:56:17
Miranda signed a contract and cost 2.5m - he can't leave just like that. Anyway we will need him if the other rumour is true about Boly wanting a return to Portugal to keep his wife happy.

Have to say that for me Mirandas been the only disappointment in Nunos signings. Also have to agree with 1877 and others in that I think he’d get shown up very quickly in the Prem. He is technically sound and tidy enough on the ball but most of his problems have been that he’s FAR too easily bossed around, especially in the air! He’s not that physical with the ball at his feet either come to that so for me I would get rid and move on as I’d hate to see someone like Hause sacrificed to keep him. Like others though I very much doubt it will happen as I think Nuno has a good relationship with him and he’s handy at this level. For those suggesting keeping him in case Boly doesn’t sign then I’m afraid we need to think again, they are chalk and cheese. If Boly goes we would need another power house of a similar calibre (basically a Prem standard defender) if we want to have any chance of surviving the Prem. Think it’s already become all too easy for most of us to take for granted how much big Willy has entirely sorted our defence this year, the guy is just a class above! COYW.

09 Jan 2018 14:11:01
It's all relative though. If we'd signed Miranda last year when we signed Costa and co he would have been class with Batth or Stearman. But next to Boly he is out-shone.
