I have it on good authority that wolves are trying to sign bonatini and jota permanently- but the jota deal is not a simple deal.
Wolves are also going to sign a striker but no names mentioned yet.

I thought we had agreed a fee for Jota when we signed him on loan. As long as we paid the fee, Atletico couldn't refuse it and couldn't offer him to any other club. Problem must be personal terms with the player himself.

Yes there are a few complications with the jota deal - not sure it's personal regards salary - just more with his current club.

I think the problem is the agreed few is for ťe end of the season. To sign him earlier I think Atlwtico will be saying that the agreement does not apply so need to set a new transfer fee . It was something Dalrymple said about a while back I am just restating it.

Well let's just keep him on loan till the end of the season and pay the agreed fee in the summer. Job done.

The problem with that is that every other club in the world can make offers, so even though the deal is in place say Juventus could make an offer too, the Jota will have to choose. and we could be stung financially trying to match wages they would offer even if he didn’t out right refuse to join. Also we need loan slots opened up.

Wolves have agreed the fee for Jota. Atletico cannot negotiate with any other club as long as Wolves have offered the agreed price. The only thing that could stop the move happening is the player himself rejecting the move.

As Jas said the fee has been agreed Wolves can take up the option anytime during the loan if they wish but obviously the move wouldn't become officially perm until Jan.
Same with the others we have on loan the fees are already agreed.

Yeah but that’s not how it works in reality. Arsenal can agree that Sanchez moves to Bournemouth for 50M, will he sign? No. Because Man City want him and by declining Bournemouth he forces the City deal which he wants. Jota has not signed anything, unless he wants to join the deal is meaningless. It doesn’t mean anything at all that we have this deal in place if a bigger team declares interest. All the option to buy is, is the right to sit in a room and ask a player to sign for you before other teams.

To be honest the way he's being kicked off the pitch every match I'd be surprised if he did sign January. If/ when we go up he won't get the same treatment in the prem so it may well be a case of him waiting till end of season and weigh his options up. Then again uncle Jorge may have a word 😊 and he signs if only to get a move elsewhere and a profit for us!

Mutiny, I would think that Jota would have been made aware of the option to sign for an agreed fee when he joined on loan. That would have been part of the deal.

End of the day, he will sign for us so let's not get caught up in the if's, buts or maybes.
