What a result tonight and what a time to be a Wolves fan. In my 30+ years as a Wolves supporter I have never known such a buzz around the team. Onwards and upwards. COYW.

I agree about the last 30 years but in my 55 years as a supporter I would say the buzz in the early 70's with EUFA Cup final, beating Juventus on the way at the Mol with 53,000, not forgetting 1974 League Cup win against Man City. Players like Doog, Waggy, Richards, Hibbett, Bailey - plus being in the top flight. We are still in the "second division" but its only November. I am fighting against getting carried away after so many decades of hurt but I am starting to get excited (where are my blood pressure pills) .

Well said North bank62! I also remember the wonderful team of the 70s with players like the Doog, King John, Waggy, Frankie, Mike Bailey, Kenny Hibbitt etc was wonderful but sadly unappreciated in some ways due to the comparisons with Stan Cullis' teams. In fact IMHO that is the only team since our 1960 FA Cup Winning side that can be compared to our current squad. Our present team of all stars has the ability and talent to be even better than the 70s team and don't forget that Fosun (may God bless them! ) will be spending big again in the New Year. COYW! I agree with you DW. Areas to strengthen in January? A striker and an attacking central midfielder ( we don't actually have one, Neves and Saiss I think are basically defensive) . I think buying wisely in Jan will be key for the season that follows (in the Premier)

Neves is everywhere attack and defence Bright is an attacking CM really also Alfred but we rely on the two number tens to cover the area between the striker and DMs.

ive been a wol fan since the 50s I agree that the early 1970s side were excellent winning the league cup Under Bill mcgarry we were very unlucky in the Eufa cup final against Spurs we were by far the better side we had a very good team 1979/ 80 season winning the league cup again under John barnwell I was able to c the final we well truly outnumbered the forest fans that day fantastic.
