Trouble, serious trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will be ok the next 2 games are away 👍.

01 Mar 2017 13:45:33
Relegation a dead cert - max. 9 points and 44 = down to League One for 2017-18. UK£27million spend for third division football. Fosun will sell if they can.

01 Mar 2017 14:12:52
You really are a pessimistic Farquar!

Incidentally, I have only ever seen it spelt Farquhar before. Does this indicate that you are totally out of step?

01 Mar 2017 14:49:00
We won't go down, but we need a massive overhaul at our club! From manager coaches and players, and the word Fosun need to look for is QUALITY! We need a Premier league manager who will bring in his own staff and premier league quality players! It will cost but our owners are in a position to achieve this!

01 Mar 2017 15:32:13
The crap Lambert came out this morning was unbelievable. What he basically said was that next years squad will consist of the same old core (Batth, Stearman, Saville, Price, Evans, Coady and Edwards etc) and he doesn't want to see new faces coming in. Surely, he is digging his own grave? Fosun will want to bring in new players again this summer to ensure we don't go through another season like this one again, lol.

01 Mar 2017 15:49:28
Wasn't Lambert a premiership manager?

01 Mar 2017 16:06:51
And whilst I think about it Bath, Ikeme, Stearman, Edwards, Williamson, Doherty were Prem. players and surely Costa and Cav are suitable for the Premier so we don't need to fill many positions and with Hause, Iorfa, Bright and Connor coming along nicely we should be well set without seeking to change everything again. Too many people out there think they can do a better job when they know next to nothing about the managers aspirations and plans for the immediate and long term future. Know less about the coaching staff and methods used and seem to think that wholesale change will bring back the glory years. This approach has never worked in the past so why would it work now?
And non of us know what Fosun are expecting or what support they are giving aside from financial muscle.
How many managers have we had in the past 5 years?
Continuity is necessary for any chance of longer term success not moronic knee jerk changes every time things look a bit less rosy than we would like.

01 Mar 2017 16:15:44
I'm with you Paul I don't think we will be relegated but a complete overall is needed these players are to cosy at this club and for fosun to achieve there goals a rethink is needed. There are two ways that they can go about this and like Paul said you can go and get a top premier league manager and back him 100% with staff players and money for big wages which fosun can obviously afford or you need to offer a big money incentive to the current squad to get them to put in the big performances that they did against Stoke Liverpool and Chelsea week in week out. These players no that if wolves get promotion that there all out of work because only a handful of these players good enough for premier league football I just wonder where this squad would be if they were offered a million pound a man for promotion at the start of the season not lying in 20th I think.

01 Mar 2017 16:21:19
In his own mind he was! And I used the word QUALITY!

01 Mar 2017 17:24:20
Lupinehowler r u Lambert or Edwards or Pat Mountain or Tony Daley in disguise? The cosy camaraderie between players and coaches needs breakin up! A big clear out is necessary top to bottom and Quality brought in if we are to achieve anything.

01 Mar 2017 17:43:15
We had an OVERHAUL (check the spelling) at the beginning of the season and that didn't work. What we need is to give a guy with a track record of getting promoted from this league time. The reason Lambert has come in halfway through the season, is because things weren't going well. We had a massive squad, which he wants to shrink, so he was never going to sign many in January. So how can he be getting so much stick for the problems that were already here. As for what he said this morning, does anyone expect him to say that the players that are here now, the ones he needs to keep us up, will be dropped next season. Come on.

01 Mar 2017 18:20:50
The best thing PL could do, is bring back Sako, Afobe and Kmac. At least those players could just slot back in, having already been here. The club would probably become a top eight side again with those 3, then you could build from there perhaps?

01 Mar 2017 17:50:04
And there is the problem. A complete overhaul of players and staff would mean a stupendous financial outlay. Severance pay to get rid of the deadwood plus multiple millions to build a new squad. Even with their vast resources I don't think Fosun will be investing at that level with no guaranteed success.
I can't think of any other club who has been able to start from scratch the way you are suggesting so it is all wishful thinking I'm afraid
Cost of such a folly on postcards please.

01 Mar 2017 17:56:18
The squad obviously isn't big enough for him as he keeps pickin Saville and Batth? The guys got a worse record than Zenga and we sacked him! While he's here he needs to get his arse into gear and do the job he's paid a lot of money to do! Get us up the league!

01 Mar 2017 18:00:20
No Paul, just a Wolves fan in excess of 50 years who has seen too many changes when some stability may have brought better long term success.
It would be nice to be able to wave your magic wand over the club and see the trophies come flooding in but, sorry to inform you, life and football are not like that.

01 Mar 2017 18:02:14
Just out of interest Paul, which manager would you appoint and what would be your preferred team?

01 Mar 2017 18:07:35
English was never my strong point thanks for the correction I have never said that lambert should go ( check previous quotes) but these player are to cosy and if you look at what I said then you will see that I said these players can play and have proved it on a few occasions this season. Players play for one thing and one only MONEY and what I tried to say was if we gave them a big money incentive at the start of this season then I believe this team would be pushing for promotion this season. The cosy Compton club will not play them self's out of work any other way.

01 Mar 2017 19:06:10
As long as Fosun were serious about success, one of my targets would be Martin O'neil as he proved himself with villa, finishin 3 seasons runnin in the top 6. Players wise we need players of the ilk of Costa. It will be expensive but with success come higher rewards.

THE APPRENTICE MANAGERS LAMENt.

Good morning Mr. Tamworth thankyou for applying for the vacant managers post, as you know we had to let Mr. Lambert go because he failed to bring instant success.
You have indicated in your application that you see a wholesale overhaul as being necessary for progress.
It seems that you wish to oversee a complete change to the playing staff. Could you let us know what costs you may invisage.

P. Tamworth. Well I would replace all the defenders and would imagine that I could convince good quality, experienced players from the premiership to come and join the club.

What would be the cost of these players Mr. Tamworth.

P. Tamworth. Quality comes at a price but if we are careful we should get four quality defenders for about 60 million initial outlay, wages will be much higher of course but I am sure our owners can afford it.

And you would redesign the midfield Mr. Tamworth?

Of course, the engine room of the team. You would need a quality attacking midfielder and an effective ball winning midfielder at the very least. But quality costs and I would be encouraging you to put by at least 40 million for these vital positions.

Now you pointed out that the current strikers are worse than pathetic so we presume that you would look for alternatives Mr. Tamworth.

Of course, you can't win anything without at least two 20 goals a season strikers.

And what would they cost Mr. Tamworth?

Decent strikers are not cheap so I would think we should be prepared to invest at least 50 million.

Thankyou Mr. Tamworth, we can see you are a man of vision.

We, ll be in touch.

Or maybe not!

01 Mar 2017 19:51:51
If Fosun r serious they will realise when u buy a football club if u want to play with the big boys spending never stops? This is Wolves best chance in years to achieve something, but it all depends on Fosun? In time with investment and quality we can be a big fish in a big sea or we stay where we are. Only Fosun have the answer?

01 Mar 2017 19:58:55
Lupinehowler why do you worry so much about the money is it coming out your account? The facts are clear and if fosun and Jeff shi are to achieve what they have set out to do then you can't do it on the cheap. To get anywhere near the top 6 in the premier league we need to spend somewhere in the region of 500 million and to get anywhere near the top at least 1 billion look at what Tottenham and Liverpool have spent and there nowhere near winning anything. I no Leicester won last year and fair play to them but that's not going to keep happening.

01 Mar 2017 20:01:40
The key phrase --- "in time".

01 Mar 2017 20:08:51
Lupinehowler it won't be in your lifetime if Fosun don't put serious investment in, and bring the quality required?

01 Mar 2017 20:24:50
Who said I was worried about money?
What we all know is that Fosun have currently committed to 30 million so all the dreams of massive financial outlay is currently wide of the mark.

01 Mar 2017 20:25:55
Hi Paul.
I support Wolves win, lose or draw.

01 Mar 2017 20:49:50
So do I that's why I go home and away to support them.

01 Mar 2017 21:02:43
We all support them win lose or draw but what you joked about in that essay you wrote about Paul is exactly what is required to move forward. You say you've supported wolves for 50 years and that great so you've seen two league cup wins European football at molneux well I'm 39 and as an average wolves have been about mid table in the championship for the 30 years that I've loved them for so when a billion pound company buys us we all get hopes up. I no Rome wasn't built in a day but all I tried to say hours ago was that this team can play but there not putting it in week in week out because they all no they'll be down the road if we were to get promoted so you've got to give them something to play for.

01 Mar 2017 21:13:46
I know who I would give a shot to. Hi Ho Silva Lining. said it months ago. it won't happen, but we need significant change in the order to make progress like Southampton went through when they were in league one. right from the top down, to get from the bottom back up. A complete restructure! 👍 On a positive note the academy is at least looking good and guess what, that was due to significant investment and change!

01 Mar 2017 21:24:17
Sorry meant molineux.

01 Mar 2017 21:24:56
Paul I just thought overall was quite funny no need yo get personal!

01 Mar 2017 23:06:39
Jas M, I see no comment from PT referring to your hilarious comment and it's to get personal not "yo get petsonal" as you clearly like to point out grammatical errors! . At least PT speaks the truth and doesn't live in the dream that our squad depth is good enough to see us through. We are poor and I'm afraid to say our manager is poor. We played 433 under zenga and is didn't work, Edwards played 433 and it didn't work but the master tactician that is lambert continues to play a 433 and guess what, it doesn't work! . Get Rowett in and make some changes. Or if not Rowett someone who has a plan b when we look awful against let's be fair pretty much everyone! .
