Hello all, hope everyone is doing well.

On to Jordan Rhodes this was posted 1 day ago. on sky sports news, with at the bottom reading " Sky sources Wolves interested in signing Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes " so I would suspect a bid will be made before deadline day, I just hope Wolves pay the money straight away rather than leaving it very late

If we're after him I'd of thought a bid has already been put in? Why wait?

25 Aug 2016 09:46:02
It's either us or Derby now which could well mean we end up with Chris Martin. Rather have Rhodes, obviously.

25 Aug 2016 09:49:45
It's all cat and mouse at the moment and we will show our hand on the last day. I'm starting to take all of the rubbish on Twitter with a pinch of salt and the so called agents or ITK are all rubbish. No one again suggested Saisse or the other signings before hand so I'm just waiting for next Wednesday I think it's going to be crazy.

25 Aug 2016 09:58:32
I agree Darbo, since the takeover the so called ITK posters haven't a clue unless their sources understand Chinese Portugese or Italian! 😂.

25 Aug 2016 10:22:09
Is it just me who would prefer Chris Martin? Fair enough Jordan Rhodes can get the goals but he is a target man, he puts himself in the right places where as Martin creates goals aswell as scoring a lot created by himself.

25 Aug 2016 10:27:23
Why do you people post updates that are days old.

25 Aug 2016 10:30:22
Villa now favourit to sign him. I hope we don't miss this one he would be a great capture.

25 Aug 2016 10:44:46
Wolves back favourites on at 11/ 4, villa back out to 11/ 2.

25 Aug 2016 10:44:53
Look at Rhodes goal ratio to games compared with Martins? Only one winner? Rhodes.

25 Aug 2016 11:34:55
It's all about Villa going for Hernandez or Valencia. They don't think Hernandez is worth £14m but the bid has to be in by tomorrow. Rhodes would prob choose Villa over us.

25 Aug 2016 11:59:08
These big money signings won't happen.
Just because we owned by billionaires don't expect no more then 5m on any one player.
Two more to come in that will be it.

25 Aug 2016 12:27:18
You say that Pezza but we have bid 6m for Martin already?

I don't think we'll be spending 20m on a player but I can certainly see a 10m+ offer for a striker like Rhodes. Our owners are clever, they'll realise we need a reliable goal scorer and Zenga has already said he wants another striker.

Time will tell though, one things for sure, nobody on here is 'in the know'.

25 Aug 2016 12:56:24
If he costs £10m, he won't cost us £10m, because we could re-sell him. It's a no-brainer to help in a push for promotion to the Prem that would make what it did cost us a drop in the ocean of the riches we'd be into. That's how Boro saw it and it worked, they're promoted and can now sell him for what they paid.

If he's available, we should be front of the queue for Rhodes and for another decent striker on top. I think it's time for Fosun to man up and get players in that can hit the ground running. There's no pre-season, our team isn't settled, gelled and up to speed yet, the season has already started, every point we drop as new Euro players get up to speed is a dent in our promotion hopes.

If Euro players are a good idea, then them as well, not instead of. We have Mendes as a tied agent, we shouldn't be scared of buying and re-selling.

£20m on one player would be too risky. Imagine after a few games he gets injured and out for the season!

Happened to all our best attackers last season (Dicko, Graham, Zyro)

I'm quite impressed by the shrewd loan signings and bargains we've got so far.

If we want to buy goals to get Wolves promoted its at least going to cost £5m plus! That's just the state of the current transfer market sadly.

ULF - bit harsh on the Euro signings. I'd say Bod, Tex and Costa who have been available have slotted in seamlessly. Bod, arguably has been our best player to date.

25 Aug 2016 14:22:35
Wilfried Zaha for right wing? He wants move from Palace and could replace Henry/ Wallace.

25 Aug 2016 14:45:26
But Bod had the Euro campaign that has kept him up to speed, and he was here before the season started to help him get up to speed with the team.

While Tex and Costa are great but not up to speed, Costa has only just been able to play in a cup game against Cambridge. Prince Onion is well off the pace, and who knows when we'll see Ola John, not even on bench against Cambridge.

Nothing against Euro players, happy with everyone we've signed, but we're in a live campaign and need to stop faffing around with potential, we need to get on with actual.

25 Aug 2016 15:00:27
Unbelievable what we paid for Bod, he brings much more to the game than virtually any other current Championship striker. He hold up the ball, makes sure it sticks and physically batters defenders to unsettle them. He has a good eye for a pass and plays other team members in to keep the move going forward quickly. He has great pace and a good shot. Can't wait to see him play alongside Dicko the combined pace will terrify defences. Mason is coming on Costa will enjoy working with Bod and Ennis would look good in that frontline. I just wish Zyro was nearer to full fitness. But in truth I'm not that bothered about Rhodes or Martinas neither has the pace that matches up to the rest of our forwards, although Rhodes can finish and Martin is a good option as cover for Bod and will bring others into the game. First choice for me would be just find us another Bod.

So what if Bod had the Euro campaign. Along with Tex and Costa, they've made an instant impact!

25 Aug 2016 18:27:20
Yes but neither Tex nor Costa are fully match fit yet (or haven't been so far) . Neither played against Brum, and Prince Onion wasn't up to speed for it when he came one.

I'm very happy we signed all of them but we're in a live season now, we haven't got time for players to get up to speed. Our greatest potential gain isn't in some player that we buy who mightbe good enough and who will be worth more in the future, our greatest potential is getting to the Prem, everything is kind of riding on that or we're just making a loss and stacking debt against the club with what we're spending on agents fees and increased wages.

Very happy with more Euro's with potential being signed as we need depth, it's a long season and we want to do cup runs as well, but I think we need to get serious over a couple of players we know we can rely on to do the job. Like Rhodes, Martin, Afobe etc.
