Wolves are monitoring Celtic's 18 year old midfielder Kristoffer Ajer, a bid of £3,000,000.00 is believed to be enough to secure his services. From a reliable source in Compton.

{Ed001's Note - he only signed for them in July.}

I think Wolves are really serious about signing Jordan Rhodes, that's still the impression you get from reading reports. Villa, Newcastle and those that can afford his wages already have their strikers sorted and everything seems to accidently be falling into our lap. At £10 million this would be one of the greatest coups this window and a far better buy than McCormack or even Dwight Gale. Please God let it happen, if it is true.

My bad, turns out I was being pranked. I should've googled him for myself. Sorry.

Agree 100% wavidsmith, and imo anyone who turns their noses up at him haven't a clue! Come on Big Jeff get it sorted 👍.

Wavid I'm hoping your correct, Rhodes could fire us to promotion if he gets some goals under his belt, him and Bodvarrson and Dicko would be deadly with Mason coming off the bench.

Look at the facts - he can only go to a handful of teams but Sheff Wed, Norwich, Villa, Newcastle have their strikers sorted already. I know Villa want another, but he's far too similar to McCormack, as with Gayle or Foristieri etc. Sheff Wed ruled themselves out months ago and Newcastle are looking for height to accompany Gayle (Idrissa Sylla etc), as are Villa. We would also definitely be favourites if it came down to us or Norwich/ Brighton.

You are a lucky little Shi, arn't you?

The big problem is Rhodes' similarity to Dicko as a goal poacher and Zenga preferring a classic target man (Sylla) . People forget, though, that Rhodes isn't exactly small at 6ft 1 and excellent in the air. One thing is for sure, if he does come in and Dicko makes a full recovery, I doubt you'll see Mason again.

I've always felt Rhodes would play for us at some point, I half expected us to swap Afobe for him. But then ever since we signed him I've had a strong feeling Mason is going to be really good for us.

As long as there's still a place for Mason, we should try and find room for Rhodes :-)

22 Aug 2016 22:31:58
Rhodes is nothing like McCormack or Dicko 😂 Rhodes is a classic centre forward, almost always in the right place ready to score a decent chunk of his teams goals. Dicko and McCormack score goals however, they also like to run at defenders with the ball from deeper positions, both probably contribute a lot more to their respective teams in others let's of play as well. Rhodes doesn't do much other than score goals and that's not always what you need.

Wavid although I completely agree Rhodes would be a fantastic signing reading some of your comments I'm slightly bemused. Rhodes is nothing like sicko McCormack foristerie or any of those you named. All those players have a bit about them outside the box and running wise. Rhodes Is a fantastic goal scorer in this division but offers very little in terms of running ability and his build is more so that of a target man so would fit Walters mould totally. The guy has literally no pace. But he is an excellent goal scoring striker and would love to see us sign him.

22 Aug 2016 23:07:23
I don't know what I meant either, hehe. Rhodes is easily the most selfish striker in the league and Dicko would become his provider if they were to play together. What I meant was about them all being goal poachers and other sides needing target men (yes I know what you mean about Foristieri) . Anyway, I just read about Norwich entering the Rhodes race but hardly surprising considering they've been looking for a striker for two years.

Mason will be class.

23 Aug 2016 09:16:08
Land this guy from Anglers. So coady has some decent opposition for places. And with regards to a new forward we are okay there until January to re-assess.

Mason and Dadi firing. Dicko brings the frightening pace. Zyro can play there and young Ennis if injuries strike again. Whom has shown more than enough to show he can cope.

UTW. So happy with our business done. One more in and bring it on.

Wolves to finish 4th. :-)

Wavidsmith, Mason has found form this season, his goal on Saturday shows what he's capable of. He has Premier experience and should be good at this level. We can only assume Jackett didn't know how to get the best out of him.

23 Aug 2016 09:30:31
Wolves team after the window closes?

Ikeme

Iorfa Batth Hause B-Jackson

Prince Saiss Tex

Dicko Rhodes JDB

Nowadays with a strong midfield and high pressing game you can play 3 forwards who inter-change over the course of the game. Dicko is a capable dribbler and so is JDB. Rhodes would be the main man I think. Must admit that team looks class!

23 Aug 2016 10:11:51
We can't rely on Dicko, he's only beginning to get game time in U23's and he is way off what he was, needs like a pre-season to get back up to speed, he could be ages away before he's of use.

And without him, we have no cover if either Bod or Mason get injured, We have to get in at least one, maybe two, quality strikers for cover, flexibility, and depth.

23 Aug 2016 10:14:15
And Zyro is out injured for whole season, and Ennis and Bright are still development players. We've done too much with the rest of the squad not to be properly serious now with the strikers too, making do and getting by isn't the game we're playing anymore.

23 Aug 2016 12:03:57
BTW didn't I hear Zenga say he wants a number of players in each position? so would make sense for at least another 3 players to cover positions.
(in case you didn't know talisca having medical at Besiktas. )
