Timmy lots of t's. I fail to see how the Detroit Tigers have any relevance to proper football and particularly Wolves FC. I think leaving Molineux would be a tragedy for our history and our city. And its pointless. Even if we become a Champions League club, we will never attract 50 + thousand fans, and there is room for expansion at Molineux. God forbid we end up in a no mans land by M54 just to make it convenient for away supporters. Shocking!

TT the relevance is to sport. The Americans love their sports, old stadia and traditions just as much as we do. I'm not sure where the Tigers used to play but Comerica Park looks a fine venue. I love Molineux and where it is but I trust Fosun to commercially 'do what it takes' to move our club forward and if that's a new stadium and a bit of extra travel for me, I'll proudly make that sacrifice.

There is a world of difference between American sports and good old British football, and I don't believe the owners of their " teams" care one iota about their community, the fans accept that because its always been that way. Its a completely different culture.

Generally a fair point TT due to the franchise nature of US sports. However for example if you tried to take Boston Red Sox away from Fenway Park you could perhaps have riots on your hands. Come on every sports fan loves history and tradition. We still have the 1950s to reminisce about and we have a city-centre stadium. That's good but let's look forwards and support our forward-looking owners in their endeavours.

We do have the potential to draw 50000 crowds 50000 plus fans to Wembley as a fourth division club proves that.

And I was in a 63000 crowd to watch Wolves v Liverpool at Molineux . our record attendance.

Guys the one big problem with a modern day Molyneux is access. Where do we park? It's bad enough as it is. Yes I think they can build a decent 50k stadium where we are but the infrastructure is the issue that may hold it back.
They can expand Molyneux as Morgans plans prove
A bigger stadium is an essential part of Fosuns plan because of revenue and FFP implications.
I have been part of a 60k crowd but back then most fans used the bus not cars so we walked to other side if town to get bus home. Now I live 50 miles away and buses not practical and there us a large percentage of fans who live 20 miles it more away, our own market research highlighted the point.
Moving will be a wrench but the memories will always remain, always.

Still a never ending story, Tiger Stadium was the equivalent of Fenway park. Both, at the time, old stadiums that fans loved to go to (although I think they reeked of urine near the loos) .
Nobody thought there was a chance of them moving and now you don't even know about it.
Tettenhall Toad, why do you insist on talking about things you know nothing about. No excuse for that when there is the internet. The owner of the team, at the time, was very much a fan favourite who poured a lot of his own personal money into the club.

It’s Molineux.

To be fair Jeff Shi has been straight and some fans are naturally negative to this new ground idea. But he also says this is a long term plan to place Wolves as one of the elite.

I believe as wolve achieve their goals season on season (and nothing is a given) the club will be growing from what was a typical English middle of the road club, steeped with a massive history to a level we are so unaccustomed to.

I understand the sentiment, but modern football doent cater as much for sentiment. We have hugely wealthy and ambitious owners and i for one hope to see it become reality.

I was there in 60000 + no TV video computers or all seater stadia then. If we do leave it will be a 'new wolves' and as I've said before part of Wolverhampton wanderers will be gone, a slice of history found only in the archives. Financially it makes sense but do we sell our soul?

08 Aug 2018 20:54:09
You are correct Timmy. I know nothing about The Detroit Spinners, or whatever they are called. And there is a very good reason I haven't "looked it up on the internet". i'm not interested, and it has much relevance to Wolves and Molineux as The Austrian womens bobsleighing teams stadium!

Cut the sniping Tottenham Toad and have some respect for fellow posters. We're all here because we have a passion for WWFC but we all have different opinions, none right and none wrong. Enjoy the rest of the transfer window and enjoy this experience that our club / owners are giving us. In Nuno and Fosun we trust.

There was nothing personal in that post never ending, but you could say the same about his post. It was insulting, but yes we all want the same thing or we wouldn't be so passionate about it. Nothing wrong with a bit of banter though, i'm sure we are all old and ugly enough to deal with it!

Banter's good Toad and apologies for not being able to spell your name. It's going to be a busy day at Compton. COYW!
