All depends if we wait for the European market to open in June, or we buy big from here which opened today. I'd imagine the first signing will be Afobe?

I think it will Joe Allen. Then Afobe.

Paul Tamworth if I’m honest I don’t really include loan players in this I mean the first signing from another club that wasn’t already here so like I say not including loan signings.

Maybe, although when you see see Theflwell warning of peeps not wanting to commit before the WC then who knows. Problem we have is we will be looking at the young up and coming market who will be wanting to make a statement this summer. Ya never know, International squad cuts may just hurry things along for us. If I was a gambling man my bet for first big signing would be the keeper (maybe Patricio) just because Ruddy came in early and with Nuno being an ex keeper reckon he will value the position pretty high on the list! Just a thought ;)

PS- Neves getting cut seems madness, especially as Adrien Silva has taken his place who has frankly been very average since getting to Lec (sadly standard top league biased me thinks)! Like Statto mind think it works in our favour! Had he gone he would have lit it up and then everyone would have come calling!

Ok Matt, Lindelof from Man Utd or Wilshere from Arsenal?

Rui Patricio, Wilshire, Lindelof and Andre Silva would work for me 😀😀😀.

Although the continental transfer windows haven't opened yet, rules allow clubs in England to sign players from clubs in those countries before their transfer window opens. Those foreign clubs cannot sign players until June 1st but they can sell players. Thus no reason for Wolves to wait until then.

Doncaster. English clubs can only sign players from other English clubs. They cannot buy from foreign clubs until 1st June. They can agree the deal before hand but it won't go through until then.

Doncaster, Jas is bang on. So if the marquee signin is from abroad it won't happen till June.

I quote from Wikipedia: "The transfer window of a given football association governs only international transfers into that football association. International transfers out of an association are always possible to those associations that have an open window. The transfer window of the association that the player is leaving does not have to be open". I am right; Paul you and Jas are wrrong.

Doncaster. Wiki is sometimes wrong. After all they state that Diogo Jota and Andre Silva are brothers.

18 May 2018 19:16:22
OK Jas. Then kindly find me a 100% authorative source that contradicts what I have quoted. Then I'll go quietly.

Everything I've read says that all transfers can be signed whenever but the deal cannot go through until the transfer window of the country where the selling club is based is opened. E. G. Wolves can agree to sign a player from Germany, Spain, Italy etc today. The player can sign for us today but the move cannot be finalised until after the 1st of June as that's when that countries transfer window opens as agreed with FIFA.
