I think if you read the artical correctly ref Mendes he is giving evidence regarding potential tax evasion by certain players in Spain and not tax invasion by him.

Billy ocean what happens with companies in china is their government keep a keen eye on any companies activities if for any reason their share price would drop. This is due to them being partly state sponsored. Its a good thing this happens as the chinese government never want to lose face in companies they have a vested interest in. It basically sends out a message to fosun that they're watching and not to fail.
