I know everybody is going to say I'm unrealistic but why can't we sign John Terry? He's on a free.

He could come and be a proper captain, it would be similar to when we got crazy horse and just like he steadied us toward the league cup win, JT could steer us toward promotion. I personally think it would be brilliant, a proper English centre half captaining one of England's great old clubs.

It's nice to dream, but I suppose the reality is the same old rubbish we've been used to.

I'd love to see him at Wolves, it would show real ambition not to mention he's just the type of defender we need, however he is a Londoner and still wants to play in the Premier League. I think he's nailed on to go to West Ham to be honest.

How many hundreds of thousands of pounds per week will we have to pay him?

Probably the equivalent of the sum of all the rest of the useless defenders we got at the club but we are owned by some of the richest people on the planet so that shouldn't matter. Supposedly.

Brummiewolf, how would it show real ambition by signing a player at the end of his career? I'd rather see my club show ambition by signing players, hopefully big players, who are in the prime of their playing days.

I mean it would show real ambition to get out of the championship ASAP. He would cost a lot of wages but he'd be one of the best central defenders in that league and would be great to have around the club for a year or so. The young guys would learn a lot from him. First things first-get into the premier league. A bloke like him for a season would be a good move. I'm afraid big players in the prime of their career like you're suggesting just aren't going to move to a championship club no matter how much money our owners have. But they will as and when we can offer premier league football.

There's no way JT could play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday. Our defence is very poor, and we drastically need a solid centre half and leader. But we need one to play regularly and set up a solid defensive partnership in the middle, and organise the back 4.

Why would he turn down playing in the premier league or abroad at a decent level to drop a division and play several more games in smaller grounds in front of smaller crowds?

He might if he was offered a player coach role with a route to management. Can't see that his arrival would be less than positive afterall many of the existing squad need a good kick up the bum.
