Have we brought Martin and Rhoades yet? How about a quality centre half? Mmmmmmmmm guess not. Wakey Wakey Big Jeff clock is tickin, quality still needed 👍.

No thank goodness. one overweight and slow. Rhodes over priced and not premier player so a lot of money for a season. we will sign Saisse and a CB. marquee signing will be Ivan Cavaleiro as per his wife's twitter account.

Mid table it is then Sedgley Pete, especially if Walt sticks to a rotation plan.

Mid table was what jacketts flops achieved last season, even with no further signings you got to say our squad is play off potential at least particularly when we get dicko, graham and maybe zyro back. Although we may be title contenders if we make some more signings in the next 18 hours or so.

I like how you've changed your tune after 1 defeat PT. why would you be so desperate for the club to spend millions on 2 players, one that's over weight and the other that has no pace what so ever. Fair enough they have decent scoring records but I very much doubt that just because we may not sign either of them we will finish midtable. You were shouting down all the moaners last week and now you've jumped on the bandwagon of if we don't sign players for 10m plus we are doomed. I seem to remember derby spent huge amounts last year and the year before and look what league they are STILL in.

Haha Paul you crack me up You've gone from the most pessimistic on here to the main banger of the Fosun drum like 'Big Jeff' is your best mate back to where you were before it all started. It's like you have Bipolar! Being too sucked in by how much something costs isn't a god way to think. Every t-shirt in the wardrobe doesn't need to be branded.

Would you have said when Leicester signed Mahrez they were wrong and should have been signing Walcott because spending 400k on a winger when they could afford 20m is mediocre?

Stop comparing us to Newcastle and Villa as they aren't spending the owners money they're spending parachute money or in Newcastle's case just spending what they bring in knowing Sissoko will be on his way out and they'll break even.

Use your loaf a bit.

we need Saisse and a quality experienced centre back and we should be o. k if we spend big money on a striker we would have 4 strikers plus Dicko when he comes back plus Zyro when he is fit in the New Year plus the kid strikers, so I think this would cause some unrest, whereas we have no cover at all for Centre backs, certainly no quality to come in so the money would be better spent for a centre back. Presuming Saisse signs we would have a quality midfield for the first time for years and then offload such as Byrne, Henry, Edwards, Saville etc and quite a few more, who are good league 1 players, but that is their limit, no class there at all, they give the effort but are just not good enough if we want to get promoted the next 2 years.

Just Smith I can't argue as I haven't seen a Walt team yet, I've been to all the games and watched Jacketts team? That's what worries me, I thought we would buy quality players who will play week in week out? But at the moment we've just brought numbers and Walt is talkin rotation? Which I most definitely do not agree with! U pick your best team week in week out!

And also to prove my point Leicester won the Prem usin the least amount of players and stickin to a first 11 regularly.

But to keep team spirit high, he has to be selecting on merit. He gave last years lads a chance. to be fair, we were unbeaten until Saturday. Thus, to be fair to them, he couldn't just drop them otherwise he stood to undermine the 'team spirit' ethic he is trying to create/ employ. I'd expect some changes now, as the loss gives him the opportunity to drop a few. This is the method I think he will employ - not mass rotation. However, the high energy play he likes will burn players out, thus the need for a strong squad.

What wins games? Goals and scoring more than the opposition. We can have 6 strikers at the club but if they don't hit the net on a regular basis they are not going to win us the league are they? That's why the team needs to be made up with as many players as possible that chip in with goals. These type of players usually cost money because of it. Unless we get lucky of course. We can always hope we do. The point is at the sharp end we need several proven and regular goal scorers as well as strength everywhere else. Strikers win games most of the time don't they? Let's just get at least two proven goal scorers on board. Not unreasonable, but usually expensive. 😀😀.

Paul Tamworth . Go back 12 months, did anyone think Leicester would do what they did with the squad they had . Journeymen who had played at variety of clubs .

They did, with a system and method of play and few injuries .

Thats one way to do it but not the only way .

Give the manager and team time and let them do what they do best . He has brought in much much better quality than what was there!

You have your view but its not Ps4 . There are prob 10 ambitious teams competing to go up but at least wolves will stand toe to toe now!

30 aug 2016 11:39:08
wolvescoast spot on, goals win football matches and you have to pay the going rate to get the players to score them and they have to come from midfield as well as up front, also players weigh in with a few goals from the back, then you have the perfect football team to get to premier
so what i am saying is hope all these players we are sighning on loan or on 2 to 3 year contracts for cheap money make a difference, what i can say is its more interesting and better than last year, and even with these new players he as signed already if he plays them regularly i think we could still get in top 6,my opinion we need a centre back and striker who can get you 20 plus goals, then i would fancy we, still time.

30 Aug 2016 11:39:33
We may stand toe to toe with the other teams if he fields his players and not Jacketts? Until we see his team none of us have a clue!

30 Aug 2016 12:06:05
I know what you're saying Paul but you surely expected that to be the case whilst players moved to a new country and bedded in? For me it was always about getting to this international break in a decent position and come the next game we should see more from the new guys. it also gives Zenga chance to see which current players he rates but they are better players than given credit for as shown v Blues who in turn hammered Norwich. Last season has tarnished them but they can rewrite their futures with us as Coady is doing.

We're building something special but it just needs a bit of patience. Squad depth is essential though as seen last season due to the lack of it.

As much as I'd love a 10/ 15m signing I'd be happier if we scouted properly and got these players for 2/ 3 million where as if they were already playing here would be that price.

30 Aug 2016 12:58:44
I'm sure Ivan C is a good player, however not sure his goals to games played ratio is that impressive! We need goals from the wings and midfield and the back four to chip in occasionally. This is what will win us games. 😉.

30 Aug 2016 21:41:11
his goals to game ratio in ligue 1 and champions league you mean? I suspect goals to game in the championship would be better - although if he creates 35 goals for others I don't suppose anyone would care that he hasn't scored 10 goals himself.
