John Richards has been made clubs vice president.

A favourite of older wolves fans.

A good read on wolves official website.

Had the pleasure of John Richatds as the ex wolves pro on stadium tour few years back and have shook Billy Wright's hand in 1990 away at Sheffield utd.

Steve bull my her0 I saw him walking round the ground when he was suspended in late 80's.
My friends said here are phil go and shake his hand but nut ashamed to admit I was star struck went red and was too shy.

We all love the wolves so whatever happens that will always be.

Enjoy the mstch tonight fingers crossed 3 points.

Has PGMOL turned into an impossible to overthrow dictatorship?

24 Apr 2024 07:39:25
{Ed's Note - Lets Be Rational has posted a new article entitled, Has PGMOL turned into an impossible to overthrow dictatorship?

24 Apr 2024 11:37:57
Unsurprisingly I agree wholeheartedly with let's be rational on the VAR silencing and hiding from scrutiny.
Journos won't upset the applecart for fear of being excluded from briefings, managers can't question things for fear of punishment, clubs for fear of fines.
VAR like 'the computer says no' isn't allowing any 'common sense' to be applied and its ruining our sport and in some cases the aspirations of smaller clubs.

Surely the FA hear the derisive chants, surely it can't be good for the physical well being of players to stand around waiting for decisions.

Obviously the emotional turmoil of spectators awaiting outcomes can't be good for the spectacle.

So why do they persist with this unsatisfactory model? Criticism shrugged off without explanation or those that do being penalised.

As the game progressed? Is the game more enjoyable to watch? Can we say more wrongs have been righted that would have been accepted if given by a ref alone, because I feel that the level of reffing as declined since the responsibility is not solely on the heads. Ridiculous laws on handball and offside seem to benefit the lines drawn by VAR and TV companies to repeatedly replay them.

Scrap the system to purely goal line tech and give us our game and sport back, part of which was debating the 'iffy' decisions made after the game, but accepting them too, without the conspiracies that arise under the detached decision makers now.

Multiple sites are stating that GON has been interviewed for the Liverpool job. So the board must have given permission for this. I'm a little dismayed tbh, I would have expected a little more loyalty (I know, it's football) and expected him to stay for a few years to gain experience away from the white heat of a Champions League club.

23 Apr 2024 17:30:57
Is one of the sources Alex Crooks. If it is, the its not true because that man hasn't got a clue.

The only decent ones are Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein.

23 Apr 2024 17:42:13
Few things here Tim, firstly even if true (and it is a BIG IF as I don't believe it to be honest) that doesn't mean they are offering him the job does it. Secondly, whilst I agree that loyalty is important I'm sorry to say it but ANY manager outside the top four clubs is NEVER turning down an interview with them because they might only be asked once in their careers and if you don't have that level of ambition/self belief then you'll never get anywhere in pro sports anyway! Thirdly you mention loyalty, well I believe that GON did his badges at Liverpool and got his first job in management there (managing the youth team) so in fairness loyalty cuts all ways! Lastly, as I think others have already suggested I suspect he wants a new deal (which is why these stories are going round) and the sooner Jeff gets that sorted the sooner we can all relax a bit! 👍🐺

23 Apr 2024 18:05:22
Sorry, but not a chance. He hasn't the experience YET to manage a club like Liverpool. I suspect that when klopp leaves they could be in a state of turmoil for a short while similar to UTD when Ferguson left. It could ruin him if he was offered the job and was sacked shortly after if things didn't work out. Higher profile managers with more experience will be offered that role surely?

23 Apr 2024 19:46:45
There's not a cat in hells chance that GON will be the next Liverpool manager but I gave to disagree with the 'He hasn't got the experience to manage a big club'.

Pep Guardiola took over the Barcelona job with 'no experience'.
Xavi is now in the same position as is Xavi Alonso.
Ruben Amorim was 35 had 3 months as Braga B manager before getting the Braga job and leading them to a cup win.

Sometimes you don't need the experience, just the will and desire.

I am one of them who thought GON was too inexperienced for the Wolves job. Would I want him out? No. He's doing a tremendous job.

24 Apr 2024 06:22:09
Reported that he has dismissed this silly rumour.
"O’Neil quickly dismissed that suggestion (Liverpool links) and said his concentration was “100 per cent” on Wolves as they target a strong finish to his first season in charge.
“I have not seen anything. I have not spoken to any football club.”
Source: E&S
Early days, will be an interesting summer!

24 Apr 2024 07:55:07
And only this morning it's reported that Arne Strop is the favourite for the Liverpool job (feyenoord I think). The press will chuck put loads of things to spark sales/clickbait and sell ad space.
I agree with bully's tho give GON a new contract asap and as bully's said we can breath a sigh of relief and look forward.

24 Apr 2024 10:57:08
There is no way that Gary is going to Liverpool. Frankie is more likely to go to Hollywood!

24 Apr 2024 11:48:32
Yes not even a full seasons experience at a single club and less than two years EPL experience in total!

I imagine GON is ambivolent about these rumours because even if they haven't been deliberately leaked like the Man U one a few weeks ago, they don't harm his negotiating position.

23 Apr 2024 13:14:59
I know we all want to win every game, but here's a question. Europe is probably beyond us now and we're safe. Given our remaining home fixtures at least we'd obviously want to beat Bournemouth and Palace, but would you sacrifice points against Luton if it meant Forest got relegated. I really like Nuno, but don't have a lot of time for Forest.

23 Apr 2024 13:44:31
Not in the slightest mate.

League position is worth extra millions.

23 Apr 2024 14:01:56
Agreed Phil. It should always be about us. We won’t win every match, as you say Blackfords, but we are the creators of our own destiny.

23 Apr 2024 09:59:52
BBC Scotlands Chief football correspondent, Tom English, described Fabio Silva style of play as 'like an octopus falling out of a tree ', Oh dear! FWAW

23 Apr 2024 10:25:15
And perhaps he was being gentle.

23 Apr 2024 11:59:37
I think it's because he keeps getting caught in ten-tacles!

23 Apr 2024 12:18:33
That'll boost his confidence when he hears/reads things like that. We're going to take a massive hit on this one to get rid.

23 Apr 2024 12:21:34
It's reported that Calamari FC are looking to sign him.

23 Apr 2024 12:52:15
We'll get a few squid for him I reckon.

23 Apr 2024 13:09:43
Nice one Ken68.😂😂

23 Apr 2024 13:19:44
Lol you on form today Ken🤣

23 Apr 2024 14:04:04
Best laugh I’ve had in ages you lot! 🤣🤣🤣
He should at least be given the number 8 shirt to keep from now on. 😂

23 Apr 2024 22:29:10
Brilliant and Silly, cheers all FWAW

24 Apr 2024 14:39:27
To be honest I think your all talking a load of old mollusks! (sorry) 🙈🤣

Fulham v Liverpool - A Quick Liverpool Perspective

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Fulham v Liverpool - A Quick Liverpool Perspective

21 Apr 2024 18:31:16
For those that say Sa is bad it could be much worse

22 Apr 2024 08:07:38
I feel for the Coventry fans this morning, should have been in the final but for VAR finding a toe interfering with play! Likewise the ref and VAR failing in their duties for Forest by all accounts. Heard Kieth Hackett giving his opinions this morning and basically bemoaning the standards of referring we've now had/got this season, and suggesting a independent VAR adjudication with intensive training. Where forest go with their complaint I don't know but two clubs have suffered big time this weekend.

22 Apr 2024 10:16:15
Not aimed at you Abbey but what exactly makes Forest SO special in all this?! We've had bad decision after bad decision this season and STILL managed to (quite rightly) steer clear of accusing the refs of cheating! I hate VAR and agree with others that I would scrap the whole thing tomoz if given the chance HOWEVER Forests reaction is beyond petulant! It was one bad call, the last call which in fairness should have been a CLEAR pen! As for the other two they were standard 50/50 calls that could ALWAYS go either way! So one bad call and they start throwing toys sorry but it's pathetic and (I suspect) just a way to try and gain a bit of traction before their appeal is heard?! Someone should show um the goal we had disallowed at WHU, that was a FAR more questionable decision than ANY made at their game! Just saying 👍

22 Apr 2024 10:48:35
Nothing special regarding forest from me bully's, I havnt even seen the appeals, I'm just reiterating how VAR is effecting teams, ourselves amongst them and costing us points too. Coventry however is harder, a rare semi final where they've pulled themselves up against a supposed top team. Utds keeper got a second yellow in the pens like villa the other night, will he be banned for the final as martinez is for the Europe 1st leg. Doubt it. I'm just fed up with it all, it happens to often. Re where forest go that was meant as an indication that there is no where to go. Its all wrapped up an it's no wonder that conspiracy theories abound.

22 Apr 2024 11:34:43
Abbey, Premier football is a mess.
It is not just how poorly VAR is used (staggering the lack of competency amongst our top referees), it is FFP, with no constancy,
FA Cup changes which will impact on the earning potential of smaller Clubs, expansion of European Comps, Long-haul Tournaments, which disrupt pre-season planning for coaches etc etc.
Just chasing the money. The more American ownerships, the quicker the demise of our wonderful "Pyramid" system.

22 Apr 2024 11:44:09
Thing is Abbey, that toe decision was factually correct unlike a lot of VAR interferences which we have suffered from and there's also a fairly big argument against that Wan Bissaka hand ball penalty anyway.Only because of the gross incompetence of the officials (on pitch and at Stockley Park;how often do ref's stick with their original decision when going to the monitor?) I'd get rid of VAR, change the offside rule so that the foot position (and a complete foot at that) is the sole determinant and revert to deliberate hand ball only for a penalty. And, of course, pigs will fly!

22 Apr 2024 12:48:59
Hard to feel any symapthy for Forest after how they and their fans have behaved towards us, don't forget this is the same club that tried to get Podence suspended and their fans were saying nothing in the push on Semedo last week, karma comes to mind.

22 Apr 2024 13:28:41
The online technology exists to have neutral country VAR. No reason why Premier League matches should not have VAR adjudicated in Europe, and vice versa.

22 Apr 2024 14:46:53
Agree wholeheartedly old wulf, I ranted off about the cup replays earlier below. I genuinely feel for the Coventry fans tho. I've no sympathy for Forest tho, Rated, I was just moaning about decisions this season. Arteta moaned klopp moaned we've moaned now Nuno moaning but nothing changes, it's like P'ing in the wind.

22 Apr 2024 18:28:27
Only way things will change is if clubs and fans all stand together and make a stand.

21 Apr 2024 14:24:50
It's nearly that time of year again when we all think we're the manager, so who would you keep/sell/buy?

From the 1st team, I'd sell Kilman and Doherty.

I'd reintegrate into the team after their loan: Mosquera, Chiquinho and Guedes.

I'd loan out Chirewa, Fraser, Chiwome so that they get experience.

Sell Podence, Fabio, Sasa, Bolla, Hoever, Cundle and Hodge.

See if Enso is ready and add him to 1st team if ready, if not sell him because if after 2 years he hasn't adapted, he never will

I know I'll be shot down for this but if possible, buy or loan Eric Dier.

This would give us: Bueno, Bueno, Toti, Dier, Dawson, Semedo, Mosquera and AIT for defence.

Gomes, Lemina, Doyle (if bought), Traore, Bellegarde, Chiquinho in midfield.

Cunha, Guedes, Sarabia, Hwang, Neto and Gonzales in attack.

No need to break the bank and a much stronger squad.

21 Apr 2024 14:49:51
I'd sell Neto love him to bits but he can't do a full season, Silva if we can, Doherty, Guedes, Bellegarde he just isn't all that i'm afraid.
Agree with getting Dier in has experience and would fit our system nicely.

21 Apr 2024 14:53:49
Good post Jas and I must admit that I've had the same thoughts.
Not sure about Guedes, his attitude when he was here was atrocious.

21 Apr 2024 15:58:28
Guedes does not want to be at Wolves, never did in the first place, no way back for him, get rid.

21 Apr 2024 17:46:47
I'm not saying he does want to be here but if Gary can convince him that he could thrive here, I'd keep him. He's doing well at Villereal.

21 Apr 2024 18:43:02
Can't see there's any way we'd sell Doherty as he's got another year on his contract and is bound to be on more money than any other club would pay him.No way, in my view that Guedes could be integrated back into the fold and, in any case, he's a bit of a wimp and the Premier League is just too physical for him.
Unless I'm in a time warp, Enso has only been with us a year and is still only a teenager, I think, so it's very early days as yet.
Chiquinho is interesting as he was treading water with Famalicao but had an excellent end of March/ early April but his form has tailed off again. O'Neil certainly needs to take a good look at him.
We obviously need to strengthen in many areas and it's going to be an interesting summer. Don't think we'd get the money we'd want for Neto because of his issues and reckon we'll probably have him for another year and if recruitment is good you never know.
Silva should go, but who'd have him? Seems to have blotted his copybook in Glasgow.
My money is on some left field acquisitions as many well known expensive players don't seem to able to cut the mustard in WV1.

22 Apr 2024 10:06:34
Solanke of Bournemouth and Mcneil of Everton if we sold neto and ait nouri.

We would finally get that goalscorer we've craved since jiminez head injury.

18 goals for solanke this season I believe.

22 Apr 2024 11:15:02
Can't see there's any hope of either of them, Phil.Solanke would be too pricey and McNeil would probably be dependent on a Toffees relegation which seems unlikely.

22 Apr 2024 12:33:04
One can dream Old Wulf👍

22 Apr 2024 19:34:34
Well we've already sold RAN to both Liverpool and Man City according to media reports.

22 Apr 2024 22:01:37
Likewise, Kilman will be turning out for Newcastle and Spurs next season while Neto will be running down the wing for Liverpool and Arsenal.

23 Apr 2024 07:31:12
My estimated transfer fees we would get.

Silva 5million plus add ons
Podence 7million
Belgarde 5million
Neto 50million
Ait nouri 50 million
Hodges 4 million plus add ons
Sasa 5 million (if lucky)
Bolla 3 million (figure just plucked out the air)
Cundle 3 million plus add ons.

23 Apr 2024 07:33:09
Ps,
Kilman 30 million

Sa 30 million if sold to Saudi league

21 Apr 2024 13:06:40
So it’s been stated on here earlier by Jas that it’s not the clubs fault for all our injuries and I agree with that, however I would also add, if we had invested in 4-5 more players who added quality we could have rotated the squad more, and maybe cut down on the amount of injuries we have, especially from overplaying and pushing out players too much. In that case it is the clubs fault.

21 Apr 2024 13:37:27
A few things. If we had invested in the additional 4-5 players we'd be facing a points deduction and also maybe retained JL to satisfy his ego and sweet shop mentality. Yes the squad is much too thin and this should hopefully be recognised by the hierarchy and corrected in the summer where we'll be in a much stronger negotiating position. Finally we can't just blame Wolves for overplaying our players, remember all the African/Asian cups, international friendlies etc where our players are flying all over the world, different time zones etc. All this takes it's toll too. Hwang hasn't looked the same player since he came back.

22 Apr 2024 17:51:03
Vbwolf, we need more income to do that.
