Looks like Danny Batth is going, he has been messed about with his Contract by Oilslick. Does that surprise anybody! P. J.

Danny Batth is on holiday at the moment so I doubt that this information is true. let's wait till we have a new head coach before speculating on who will be going. I really hope Danny stays he was amazing for the owls in L1 and will be for us as well. We really should be basing the defence on Him and Doherty, not letting his contract run out. Even if he is fed up because he has been on the bench and negotiations have stalled. We should do whatever we can to keep a player with such a bright future.

Shows what you know batth not even out of contract yet try next season

He does not need to be out of contract he CAN ask for a transfer, did you not know that. P. J.

We can also DECLINE his request. And why would he request to leave the club he supports?

09 May 2013 22:58:46
Can we have Darren ferguson in the dug out and sir Alex in the stands overseeing juniors mistakes/transfers/signings please?

09 May 2013 21:32:17
Appleton cut to 8-1 and Davis back down to 4's

09 May 2013 20:59:05
I see on the Everton site that they are still after our Macca, it also say that now Moyes has gone to Man u may be the interest in him has gone with him.

Whatever. He has only just signed a contract and is a WOLVES supporter

Moxey IS going fact. PBM

With respect to the 'out of contract' players, I would personally keep the following:

Danny Batth (Year option I know),
George Elokobi and
Stephen Hunt.

In respect to the younger players, perhaps posters could enlighten me on their thoughts and opinions, thanks.

Build a team round sigurdarson using current academy players. Keep hunt - need his experience and a manager who plays football to feet on the ground and who plays everyone in the right position. Also one who can talk to the press sensibly and give us some pride back. Tough call - who is up for the challenge?

Thanks mate, good call.

Think we have a one year option on Elokobi as well.

Well said Chasetown. DS was frequently unintelligible. He did not understand when and when not to speak and most of his rambling comments were inane. Also, I would personally like to see a manager who can talk in sentences with a good command of the English, like Martinez for example. I would also like to see a manager who has a creative repertoire of tactics and the ability to work with players to translate these into action on the field, preferably in front of cash paying customers. I would ban players from talking to the press. Again, most of their reported comments over the last season have been cringe making, especially those about what they are going to do in their next game or how they share the pain of the fans. At least they should be required to undertake some training before going public. These people are the face of WWFC
and have made us a laughing stock.

I wouldn't mind Dave Jones back, and all the obvious money grabbers out. Let's turn the Cubs loose!

09 May 2013 19:01:33
roy keane is coming out as a top contender as manger now david moyes is man u manger

09 May 2013 16:23:34
Lets be realistic about who we could go for who would please fans and get us up

The clear choice to get us up would be coyle or warnock but would the please fans maybe for some and not for others

Or we could go for someone like Davis Robinson Mellon or the wildcard Rae who's come out of no where at 40-1 but get an experienced number 2 like a Wilkins thoughts

I think Steve Davies of crewe would be perfect fit. A wolves fan and done wonders at crewe. He has played at all levels and understands what's required at that level especially with youth.

When we going to get rid of our dross? Will we wait for the new manager to come in and do it?

Good article by Steve frogatt saying we will have probs moving on our under achieving, high earners with 2 relegations on their cv. He also puts up a strong case for sacking moneybags moxey. Hope Steve Morgan reads it and acts.

Yes, probably.

Where is the article?

Moxey to evacuation chute, now, thank you.

Stand by. Passengers will be jettisoned by a responsible person only.

wolfshead.

I have read so much rubbish about we having this person or that person and I don't want him or him its becoming boring remember that we are a LEAGUE 1 club now, so come on people let's give this new approach with Thelwell looking for what he sees as the right man a chance before we slag who ever off, just remember ferguson start at utd wasn't the best but look what he achieved I for 1 will give who ever comes in the benefit of at least playing a game before slating him.

If we appoint someone who had just won a European cup with an unfancied team I'd agree with you.

Sure SAF had a slow start, but our situation is very different.

09 May 2013 14:51:14
The intent shown this morning would indicate that Steve Davis is suited as our new 'head coach' unless we think that a Glenn Hoddle or Ray Wilkins could be tempted in as coach only. All others mentioned for me are 'managers' or 'players'. However for those who thought the end is near for Moxey - who was the one who issued the club statement this morning. Think he's staying put for now anyhows.

He should hang his head in shame and hold his hands up to his part in the colossal shambles that is wolves.

09 May 2013 19:16:40
Mcleish never, for gods sake, he screwed blues and the villa
I know we, re already screwed but let's not really go for div 4

09 May 2013 13:44:26
I think we should try to get Alex McLeish as manager as he seems to have strong character and is good at money managing

paddy harris

F*** off rather have Saunders back

Laugh out loud, has been

No we shouldn't. Not that he'd be interested in a L1 job anyway.

I would have mcleish tomorrow, probably the best option at moment.
His teams don't get beat easily

i have a strong feeling morgan and moxey are going to get it wrong again. if we are looking for a head coach, that rules out a lot of candidates. because of the position we are in, we are not going to attract top managers, the best we can hope for and possibly get is coyle. and my advise is stop hanging around and get him. we are not a prima donna club and can't afford to be choosy.

The article about recruitment on the website today is really good. Well pleased with it if we can stick to it and actually do it in time we will be a great club. Down side is Albion went for this type of arrangement with head coach and developing and structure etc and feel well get some stick for it but if it works like its worked for them and many other clubs we will rise from the darkness and be great once more! Really pleased to read that main interested will be good attractive football to hope we stick to it and don't go for an old boring manager with who football it reads well looks great will be great just take time and patience just hope we can actually do it and choose well!

It's only words at this point. Have you been living on a different planet for the last 3 years. Lots has been said and nothing has been delivered.
GET MOXEY OUT.

09 May 2013 11:37:14
So we are looking for a Head Coach. This worries me a massive amount. And i'm not trying to be pessimistic here at all. i'm Wolves through and through and all I want is for us to have success. But are we going to have to rule out a lot of candidates at this point becaise of the job title? People like Owen Coyle are going to want complete control of the football side from top to bottom. And it also bodes the question - How much influence is Kevin Thelwell going to have at the club now? And how much influence is he going to have at First X1 level? i'm really not sure that this is the way to go. But we have to trust in Morgan and Moxey and now Thelwell as well. And this is another point that worries me. I don't want to sound all gloom and doom and I have everything crossed and double crossed for the future. But i'm worried. Really worried.

Highley Wolf.

Well, we can 't have it both ways. Many of us have been banging on for ages about the need for a DOF AND a team manager aka a head coach. Now, that is happening someone does an about-turn. Of course, it depends on Thelwall's ability to do the job and to liaise with the HC. Of course, I would rather we advertised his post but let's be grateful for this shift in thinking by the board. Owen Coyle might be put off by the new set-up but he was never going to come. Young, ambitious managers like Steve Davis will not worry about it and he is the sort of person I would like to see get the job. He has experience of the lower divisions and has a proven record of bringing on young players.

09 May 2013 11:20:34
steve davis 7/2 from 6/1 kenny jacket gone out 11/10 and fregie 13/8 lot of money gone on steve davis is he any good?

He's highly rated apparently.

09 May 2013 10:30:40
Moxey is to leave with Morgan drafting in new board member who is solely focused on commercial and a salary reflective of the role. Thelwell will head footballing matters not a DOF with the new manager being a promising young manager (davis, robinson).

23mill salary at present will have to be cut to 10mill, funds will need to be raised from player sales (sako, hennessey, doyle) and releasing high earners at loss (johnson, ohara, hunt), do not renew those out of contract (berra, ebanks-blake, edwards) or pursue our loanees (gorkss, dicko), then a back bone of experience recruited as quick fix for 12-24 month dangling the coaching carrot to push through (who you ask: ward (swindon) to play alongside bathh, murphy (bburn) to anchor midfield and phillips (blackpool/palace) to rotate alongside siguardson, mcallden and another hungry proven lower league marksmen; other than these we need a promising young left back of doherty mould.

Off the pitch bums on seats, get the kids involved next season offer tickets off cheap for all league one games, fill the ground and build foundations of supporters for the next 30-40 years; kids for a quid will fill it up in no time and once at the game - merchandise will sell and they will get hooked like so many of us, particularly if were winning.

Not sure how all this will work now due to fair play rules being in effect for L1, I mean 10 mil for wages, I think you might find wages for a L1 player is less than 3 grand a week unless you charge full price and fill the ground week in/out and would people be willing to pay good money to see teams like crawly or oldham because that`s reality.

Best bit of sense and logic Iv heard in a long time on ea gr8 idea, Phillips is retiring but we ask 1 more season out of him

I'd keep Hunt, even if he is a high earner, as he's worth it for his attitude, ability and experience. As such, he would be an excellent role model for our youngsters.
Southbank60

I'd keep Hunt too, unless someone comes in with a decent offer. Love his attitude and seems like a nice guy.

A few others we can pay off if no offers.

09 May 2013 10:05:15
We are not expecting too many signings in this season as it is felt that our success in the youth team over the last 2 year has been very good. Key players however do need to be brought in and players will return from loan. We would like to restructure the earnings within the playing staff so a more harmonious balance is found around the training ground. Good money is to be invested in the chosen manager (wages) with a complete new structure of the chosen candidates' backroom staff. Speculation of transfers is pointless at this stage as complete confidence will be given to the appointed manager.

Who is this PeteDavies?
The stuff he's coming out with. Absolute nutter.
