Is anyone else getting a little concerned about sako.

He has had a great start to the season as usual and with Kenny and everyone stating we can only offer him a contract if we get promoted?

What happens if we don't go up? We will end up losing him got nothing? Or do we think if were not here the top at Christmas well sell him in January?

Not trying to be negative just wondered what everyone else is thinking?

Great player and I hope we can keep him

It does look like he's in the shop window. I guess the club is keeping its options open. I read somewhere that if we don't go up, we don't want a £25k/wk player on our books, meaning that Sako will be offered a contract for less (say 15k) or he will leave for a club willing to pay 25k or more. If we are mid-table or worse come January I can really see him going.

Is Sako the only high earner left now (excluding any group 3s)? Guessing Edwards is probably next highest.

Don't forget everyone's favourite player: Roger the Dodger!

Some clarification following my previous message. Euroman, I know you were asking about non "Group 3" players but I think Wolves fans must be reminded of what a drain on our resources Johnson continues to be and TBH I just don't see any evidence of him moving on yet. I can't help thinking that IF we could somehow lose this waste of space then the club might look more favourably at renewing Sako's contract even on the current £25k but of course that's just my speculation.

Doncaster - yes, and Kenny in the E&S today stating that he's surprised RJ hasn't received any attention from elsewhere. Presumably because of the wages, although that didn't stop Karl Henry and others finding clubs.

Also I think Kenny doesn't like the team to have one or two players clearly on better deals than the rest. He's uncomfortable with Sako's level of pay by the feel of it, although at least in Sako's case he's proven his worth for Wolves. So it might be more complicated than just shedding RJ to pay for Sako. Kenny would probably prefer to have 2 wingers than one at that price, rather than risk another RJ scenario when things go wrong.

Fair comments Euroman and your suggestions about KJ's possible thoughts could well be spot on. Ultimately as far as I am concerned, whatever KJ decides to do is fine by me; in Kenny we trust!
