Ok lads, I'm under attack on a social networking site, regarding wolves. He posted a picture of a wolves badge with 'keep calm and get relegated' written over it. He's a Watford and Chelsea fan and I was thinking of posting a picture of Jack Bonham (thier keeper who made the mistake) with 'Keep calm and catch the ball' written over it. Any other banterous suggestions?

Tell him to make his mind up! Watford AND Chelsea. he obviously isn't a loyal supporter.

Watford AND Chelsea fan! If you have half a mind to support two teams. well that's all you need really!

Why note just treat it as the joke it was intended to be. Made me smile.

How about phil Neville as player manager with an experienced coach with him like Peter Reid.

Although mr Morgan will find a Swedish manager just sacked elsewhere to lead us

I agree, Phil Neville's got to worth a punt. If we don't someone else will. Would love to see Kevin Keegan come in as advisor/DoF.

07 May 2013 23:20:02
Although I don't disagree with either posts, personally I'd like to see Alan Shearer offered the job and have Phil Neville as player/assistant. Having two young proven English internationals leading the club could only have a good example to set the youth (who we all know will make up a large part of the team next season).

08 May 2013 10:05:33
Two good names but diddly experience between them. Phil is more likely to go to Blackburn and Alan probably won't come. Maybe he wants the Blackburn job too.

Alan Shearer and Phil Neville - a bit of realism required in our position, we would be lucky to get one of them.

My view is none have the managerial experience we require. Strong leader and big personality required.

Whoever gets the job at least 50% of fans will moan. A bit like voting liberal democrat in the elections - you can always say "wasn't my choice" at least Paul Tamworth says he supports the manager then everyone takes the P*** when it goes wrong.

07 May 2013 21:44:01
Warnock is like McArthy he he'll get you promoted but not a safe place in the Prem

Well that's good enough for the next two years then.

I will Settle for getting promoted, we will cross the " he can't manage in the premier league" in 3, 4 or 5 years time.

07 May 2013 21:27:44
Wot about the barnsley manager he got them playin. some. decent stuff any thoughts on this remmember everyone moaned about bruce {Ed003's Note - Barnsley did not play 'decent stuff' all credit for the work ethic Flicker installed into them,but it was not pretty,although they have a great player in Perkins.}

07 May 2013 21:19:06
Danny Wilson to be Wolves' next manager.

07 May 2013 20:39:34
Jacket is odds on according to a web bookies.
Just when you think it can't get any worse. What type of appointment would that be. I bet they will have to open up the sales office out of hours to help with the flood of people wanting season tickets, NOT.
GET MOXEY OUT.

Initially, that was my thinking. But looking at it, it wouldn't be a dreadful appointment. We are a club in the third tier, not much money and not attractive enough to attract the top drawer managers. I would like Coyle or O'Neill but they won't come. Jackett is respected and the Millwall fans really rate him. Some of them think Wolves would be a backwards step for him!

07 May 2013 20:29:21
just a thought, I noticed that Andy Hessantaller has resigned as DOF at Gillingham, assuming we are looking to employ someone in that position, could it be that Kenny Jacket Will be manager as they were old buddies from their watford days, working together?

He left his DOF position as he wants to manage again, so if he came it would be as gaffer.

07 May 2013 20:12:48
A little birdie has put up a question mark for a lad called Michael appleton.

08 May 2013 12:51:39
Ferguson (D) is favourite 1/1.
Kenny Jackett 2/1
Steve Davis 4/1
which is "very interesting".

07 May 2013 19:41:48
Hang on a sec your all slagging off jacket while not my choice he's the one who started off Swanseas attractive style of play that you all want

We need someone like warnock or coyle who's going to get us stable again or we could wing it and go for some who's worked with a low budget like ferguson Davies (Crewe) Yates (Cheltenham)

Lets hope who ever it is we get behind him and give him a chance

How about ex wwfc man keith curle

Keith Curle? I doubt it.

Coyle defo my first choice of available managers.

O'Neill would be better still, but he won't be wanting L1 footy.

07 May 2013 19:33:15
We are a 3rd Division team with a huge ground and fanbase. What Morgan MUST do in my opinion is to make the correct appointment and by doing this he would encourage people to go along and watch Wolves again. If he reduced ticket prices considerably - even the dreaded "kids for a quid" he might make a couple of quid on match day too from pies and in the shop. I would say that now is a golden opportunity to save himself. I do not think the fans would put up with someone who has done nothing in the Championship. My personal choice is Martin O'Neill. He might even fancy it. You never know. Not Kenny Jackett or Steve Davis. How do they inspire anything?

07 May 2013 19:23:46
Magnificent news today, glad he has gone, never wanted, never performed, thanks Deano for nothing.

As to regards the next appointments we do I think need a Director of Football only so that Steve Morgan gets proper advice not the BS fed to him by Moxey, perhaps then his money and our club won't be wasted.

As regards the manager my opinion is

Ferguson - Cr*p player -Cr*p manager

Jackett - Lucky cup run but achieved nothing

Ince - ego is better than his record

Davis - we want to be going up leagues which needs experience and knowledge, Crewew is only good for train spotting.

However I think unless we appoint an O'Neil type manager we should appoint a manager for two years (year 1 to get us out of L1, year 2 to build team for promotion on year 3) then in year 3 appoint another manager for the promotion to the PL and establishment in PL, then see where we go.

I can therefore only see a few candidates currently

1) Warnock
2) Coyle
3) McClaren
4) McCleish

Two others worth a punt maybe

5) Mickey Adams
6) Gary Megson

You are obviously an Albion coming up with Megson, he would not survive the first day with the dislike that exists for him its far far worse than Bruce

What has your 3, 4, 5 and 6th picks ever done nothing jackett started the Swansea revolution with the passing game not my pick but if he does get him we must give him a chance we can't keep chopping managers

Try adding keith curle to the list.

Then remove Steve McLaren from it.

Matt Murray says his wolves mates fancy dave jones! Clearly I'm not his mate.

07 May 2013 19:04:10
I want to throw a couple of other names into the mix which are just ideas but may be interesting

1. Terry Butcher - Inverness
2. Staurt McCall - Motherwell

Both doing ok in the SPL which is more than a match for L1.

Your thoughts?

07 May 2013 19:02:45
I would like to c. Good young manager someone. like karl robinson. or even. the barnsley manager flickcroft darren. ferguson

07 May 2013 18:51:17
Jackett is almost certain to be appointed. Will have to work with no transfer money during the summer unless he sells first.

Not convinced about him at all

But let's face it - some of the names the fans want will not want to manage a League One club with a recent track history like Wolves possess. Forget the likes of Martin O'Neill and Coyle - they wouldn't be interested

07 May 2013 18:05:01
Looks like Sako is back off to France, a colleague was at his rented house to day and the owner said he would be selling the property when Sakos' lease ran out in October. Hell probably leave in the summer as he said he is likely to sign for a team back in France.

07 May 2013 17:57:42
I wudnt b suprised with jakett siewolf

07 May 2013 17:45:22
My top choices for manager would be, Uwe Rosler, Steve Davis, Edgar Davids, Mixu Paantelinien.

The problem you got there is uwe will want a crack a the championship if the go up Davis while looks good will struggle like Saunders davids took Barnet down and mixu has no experience

Club needs a manager 'with a name' that the fans and players will respect and believe in IMHO. However they also need a bit of humility and something to prove. I therefore think that DiMateo or O'Neil would be perfect and if the club is determined to return quickly they should be prepared to pay for them.

Mixu has no experience? He's currently manager of the Finish national side. Also managed club sides in Scotland and Finland. He would cope with L1. We can forget O'neill and the likes. They won't drop to the league we find ourselves in.

07 May 2013 17:08:44
Why the hurry to appoint a new manager, why not take some time and get it RIGHT this time after all the football season is n, t over yet and the merry go round of managers won't begin in earnest until relegation and promotion from all divisions are finalised, and at the best Wolves will be in with a decent shout of a class manager whatever division they play in if Morgan allows him to run the team his (the managers)way without Moxey having to give his blessing, because after all it does n, t seem to be working with Moxey, s input so far

07 May 2013 16:17:12
If its Jacket it will be another Disaster. P. J.

Jus give wolves a chance for goodness sake we was slagging them off when we was close to bruce now look where he is with more or less a low quality side have some faith in the wolves and get the correct person who ever that might be get behind them WE ARE WOLVES fairwell Deano hopefully fergie jnr get some man u loan players and you never know what will happen. L/A 2013 STAN CULLIS

Bruce must be half decent, Hull must be one of the worst teams ever to be promoted, but good luck to them.

07 May 2013 15:57:31
Ime hearing Andy Haessenthaler has left his post of director of football at Gillingham with immediate effect.
Maybe we could have approached him with regards to the director of football role?
/_/

07 May 2013 16:37:38
Pre-warning: this isn't a rumour but I wanted to see who agreed and disagreed with me.

I am absolutely desperate for us to get Uwe Rosler if brentford don't go up, anyone else agree? Brentford have brought in some quality signings while he has been there and they play some quality football for a league one side.

If he's not a possibility I think I'd have to go with Paul Ince or Owen Coyle, I think both would do a job in League One and both would be good choices in the eyes of the fans.

Anyone else's opinions welcome

Yep uwe for me!

Paul Ince! anyone who calls himself
"the guvnor" should be given the widest of berths, anyway he ain't that good.

07 May 2013 14:28:12
Well, well, well.
I can't say i'm surprised with todays news, i'm afraid that Saunders was hopelessly out of his depth.
But the next appointment is huge. It has to be thought out thoroughly and not left up to that buffoon Moxey.
Here are my thoughts - I sat NO to the following, Ferguson - just been relegated, just like us. Jacket - just avoided relegation although has experience of promotion from League 1. Megson - JUST NO. Warnock - i'm not sure he still has the desire for the game, but a possibility for D of F. Smith - we need more experience. Robinson - never had a big club would be a gamble. Ince - not had success anywhere.

So where does this leave us.

Two trains of thought here for me. 1. Martin O'Neil. Might just fancy the job after his sacking at Sunderland. Will want to prove a point. But would he be prepared to drop down to League 1 and would we pay him enough.
2. Owen Coyle. This is my choice as things stand at the moment. A forward thinking straight forward guy that loves his football. Has passion for the game and is a winner. Also he won't take any s*** from the high earners at the club who have let us down so badly.

So there it is. Just my thoughts on the subject. I have a feeling that we won't have to wait to long to find out our answer.

Highley Wolf

Ok Mr Morgan, first big decision made. Next the CEO.
Then appoint. DoF.
Then the new Manager
Then the clear out and team build.
Time is not o. Our side. keep the momentum going!

Wimbornewolf

Absolutely agree.

07 May 2013 14:18:23
Why is everyone fixated on having a DOF? The only thing I see on here is to help Morgan find a suitable replacement. So unless we plan to keep up the rate of 5 managers every 18months then surely a DOF is not required? Just have a fans vote and let us decide? That would surely get rid of the moaners about how crap our managers are!

Ben

I don't see the point of a DoF. Not for us at the moment anyway.

It's just another wage to pay out!

Ben

The point of a DoF currently is to stop Moxey making any more stupid decisions that he knows nothing about. Morgan NEEDS someone with a vast knowledge of football next to him, not a suit who knows who to scrimp on pennies whilst gorging on pies.

A Dof would have prevented the last 3 crap appointments.

I personally think we need to appoint Dof first, then a manager, then let Jez deal with the business side of the club and leave the football side to someone else.

Surely it's better to sack Moxey then and employ someone who has got an understanding of football, like a fan haha

Ben

Or my wife!

07 May 2013 14:16:14
Right let's be honest I think I could forgive all the mistakes made if the people who make these choices have learnt from there mistakes and put in place a structure that brings us forward from this day on as in the end we all want the same wolves playing in the top division with players that want to play for us and that aren't just here to line there pockets. hopefully Morgan will make the right choices this time and we get back to enjoying going to the matches instead of dreading it.

07 May 2013 14:11:32
darren ferguson got peterboro relegated so he must be ideal choice!

07 May 2013 13:59:55
No Jackett required. I warned against appointing Deano as most Welsh managers including Jackett, Coleman and Mark Hughes are hopeless and in the Steve McLaren class. I still think that Justin Edinburgh would be ideal.

Redbird

07 May 2013 13:56:05
Probably stating the obvious, but whoever gets the job ( and we'll all have different views ) must be allowed to strip it all back and start again. SS and DS were not allowed to do this so therefore never really had a chance. They had 75% MM players who over achieved for about 3 years until getting found out big time.
The board must let the manager manage.
GET MOXEY OUT.

Never a better time to start again - new season, new manager and his own players.

07 May 2013 12:54:53
Dare mr Morgan show real ambition! George graham as dof steve bould as 1st team coach! Newportwolf

07 May 2013 12:30:39
I know it's a longshot and highly improbable, but O'neill does need to rebuild his reputation after villa and Sunderland. what better than a project to resurrect a once great club?. his name alone would attract a decent level of player to the club in div 1

What did he do wrong at villa?

WILKO

Walked out on them, much as he does at any other club

07 May 2013 12:24:16
The Club has to get this right this time or the Wolves will suffer further hardship and upsets. I believe that the first job Steve Morgan has to do is appoint a DOF who will aid him in making the right choice of manager, a manager that will be here for many years to come and a manager with the right qualifications to take this great club from the lower league's as we are now back to the premier within a time scale of 5 seasons. To appoint a DOF I suggest he seeks help from persons with a football background and not just a football commercial background.
These two appointments have to sound for the club, we can not become a sacking club or the best talent of which we can afford both managerial and playing staff will no longer look at Wolves as a good career path, if this does not happen I can see this club suffering for many years to come.
Madness Wolf.

Good post above. Moxey must move aside or be sacked. He continues to be involved in footballing decisions and that is damaging the club as he has no idea.
Get in an experienced football person upstairs to make the managerial appointment and help source/fund new players. G. Taylor would be ideal.
GET MOXEY OUT

Sorry first poster I have just posted similar thoughts above before a scrolled down. I agree with you.

07 May 2013 12:23:48
Hope they don't give the next manager 46 DVDs to watch, it'd be enough to turn his hair white - the ultimate horror show! Lol

07 May 2013 12:19:22
I wudnt b suprised with jakett siewolf

07 May 2013 12:04:43
Ferguson, and jacket. come on lads even taking into consideration the league we are in we can look further ahead than those 2, look where they finished in the league respectively. very close to relegation. do we really want that again if we get promoted'to be hovering around the foot of the league again. no we don't.
Steve Morgan if you, or maybe a friend of yours should bother coming on here, take some advice, keep Moxey well away from footballing matters, if Thelwell is to act as a DoF, give him complete control of the footballing side of the club, Moxey isn't a footballing man. and chop some dead wood out of the playing staff, be ruthless, terminate contracts if need be, let the ones left behind know that you won't take any more passengers onboard, play for the shirt or do one.
As for a manager, some one who demands respect and won't be fazed by wanna be superstars, Owen Coyle would be my shout, or Neil Warnock. MFA

07 May 2013 11:09:18
Lets get rid of The OILSLICK now. P. J.

Kenny jackett jus quit Millwall anythin in it? Possible hel gaffa us siewolf

07 May 2013 11:00:30
Why is Ferguson 1 of the favourites?. done jack everywhere he's been. and that's with his Dad lending him players!

07 May 2013 10:52:28
Good riddance to bad rubbish! Totally clueless, inept clown who should never have been appointed in the first place!

07 May 2013 10:51:23
fergie fergie give us a wave, be the new song at the mol

07 May 2013 10:31:33
Well this has got to be Morgan's best decision, but he needs to make two more. (1) get rid of Moxey (2) Make the right manager appointment. Saunders was a Sunday league manager at best. DoF urgently required please.

07 May 2013 10:21:56
Uwe Rosler or Dean Smith. Please not Gary Megson

07 May 2013 10:16:35
Dont think sacking DS is the answer

I agree i'm shocked my worry is the same crap players will get another crack!! Saunders not great but like solbakkan needed time to prove himself! I feel he needs to tear up the has been high paid players contacts also an start a compl clean slate siewolf

Its a start though, he was not good enough for a big club like wolves, team selections and interviws after games were strange, nice guy but not for wolves, fair play were its due morgan has admitted mistakes now let's move on and make this club great again, let's all hope we get it right sooner rather than later with right decisions this time round. wolfy

07 May 2013 10:10:15
Thank god that Morgan grew a pair and got rid of saunders. let's just hope he gets a good manager in this time otherwise it will be a slide out of the league trap door. hopefully Moxey is forced to concentrate on financial matters now and let Thelwell take complete control of the footballing side. Owen Coyle is a good shout, his teams play good football and he won't suffer fool's. MFA

07 May 2013 10:00:47
Dean Saunders informed by the Wolverhapton Wanderers board that his contract is to be terminated following relegation to League 1. Brian Carey also to leave the club.

Club is an absolute farce, Dean Saunders was doing well with Doncaster in League 1. Don't understand why he hasn't been given a chance to sort it out at a level that suits him.

If football is a "results based" sport then why can't the players be sacked as well? They've done for five managers now! Utterly ridiculous.

Come on, I watched deanos sides and they were absolute rubbish, you can't tell me you would pay to watch that kind of football, I certanly don't want to watch that kind of hoof football

You'll be watching plenty of that in L1. Look, we won't even be able to attract players from teams like Hudderfield, Barnsley and Millwall to play for us.

07 May 2013 09:57:11
wolves sack deano thank god, now sack moxey

07 May 2013 09:51:03
think morgan will go for experence now

Kevin Thelwell is involved with the selection procedure. We'll find out how good he is now

07 May 2013 09:50:05
sacked at last

07 May 2013 09:44:03
Woo hoo Saunders is gone

Hopefully Moxey will be next!

07 May 2013 06:32:29
a big thank you to brighton fans for their support I hope they get promoted

06 May 2013 23:39:13
Ohara not fit enough for 1st team an don't control games enough definitely not worth wages get rid siewolf
