Optimist: We will win the league.

Realist: We need time, let's see what transpires.

Pessimist: I can't believe it, sack everyone!

Optimist: Billy Wright Upper.

Realist: Steve Bull Upper.

Pessimist: South Banker!

I don't hear optimist singing
I don't see realist at away games
I do see south bankers at all away games
I do hear south bankers singing
south bank = wolves main support

You only think that of the Southbank because they're the only ones singing etc. All you see from the Billy Wright is the odd person waving there arms in a rage behing the dug out.

As far as the North Bank I had a season ticket there for 6 years before moving the the South Bank for the following 12 years because all you get in there is people moaning to each other, they can't be bothered to get up and show it.

That doesn't go for all fans as individuals but the general effect that has on the atmosphere! Few mates in the North Bank who are always frustrated how hard it is to get it bouncing!

Is south bankers rhyming slang?

I moved out of the SB because I got fed up with the thick pillocks around me. I go to all aways though.

Leon Clarke is available, with him and Griffiths up front, might just be an apatite for destruction of league one defences.

Not a bad shout, he's a big lad, different from our other strikers

Are you joking really he was s**t when he was here before always down town on a Friday night with mark Davies

The guy has attitude granted, but me thinks KJ could bring out the best in him, unlike Di Canio!

He's going to Swindon

Don't you lot get it. we need a supply for our striker's we have already

Has any1 seen the Kevin thelwell interview stating what his job is to do. And on the transfer front when asked about ins and outs he said if the exiled lot along with sako leave then still no players will be bought in as average age of squad will be 23 and most have played youth and reserve matches 2geva the lads will move forward wivout any signings made due to this reasoning

I can't see any input at all by thelwell
just another moxey stooge, sure we have a good crop of youngsters but we need some old heads to bring the best out of them. another one drawing money under false pretence

Thelwell is being paid for nothing,, another wasted wage

KJ is wanting new signings quickly after our 'even younger guns' got beat by Morecambe! I hate to say it but I fear that the 3 stooges (JOH, SW, and the other one) will be back in the squad. Or is it to late to give them squad numbers?

We can give players numbers at any point in the season, it all depends on whether they're registered in the squad. If they aren't the deadline is the same as the transfer deadline. I think you're probably right, and I f I'm honest, I wouldn't be that bothered about Stephen Ward being in the squad and even roger johnson would not be a bad player to have on the bench. It's 'Premier League' that I don't want in the squad, I don't care about his apology/explanation, he's still an person.

Why didn't we think of this before? Moxey will not earn any bonus unless Wolves get promoted. Bet we find some funds if we do tht. We'll sign Gareth Bale next week!

The passing of Dave Wagstaffe has brought back memories of the time I stood on the North Bank supporting the proudest team in the land. He was tremendous and I remember him taking Arsenal apart all by himself in 15 minutes at the Molineaux. A true legend and on his day as good as Best! What a great side that was with Bailey, Knowles and Dougan amongst the others. I remember them all. The message to the current team is that this is what you have to live up to a team in which there was pride, skill and commitment, without the fame and fortune of today. Are you up to it?

I like the fact were bringing youngsters and academy graduates through that's brilliant

I also liked kennys comments on playing high tempo attacking on the floor football

However so far both have been disappointing

Last night are under 21s who beat Man U spurs reserves has there chance to step up to the mark

And a few had good performances but the majority weren't up to the mark. Maybe it's experience and game time but we don't have that time

The main worry for me is they played hooded football again and again! The main reason we wanted dean s out!

Either me jacket can't deliver the style of play he stated or are academy from youngsters upwards get taught to play good football and there for this whole head coach role and bringing academy players through won't work for us

There need to be structure set up so we have a set style type of play and that should be passed through aall ages at the club and I highly doubt it does

Untill we sort this I think e are stuck on the mud!

We also need new players foley is dreadful and not a cm Edwards injury prone to players who are so called experienced neither are good enough and regularly play come on sort this mess out!

Learning of the sad passing of David Wagstaffe took me back to the sixties when you could appreciate players in the opposing team, especially ones as gifted as him. I am sure Wolves supporters will afford him the respect he deserves on Saturday and hope this inspires the current crop of players to earn the same level of respect from their fans.

we need a more attacking formation to create chances maybe a 4-2-3-1 because we lack creativity. as for Ohara Johnson and ward we paying them so make them earn there money the kids need help as they aren't ready for the task at hand sorry but in your heart of hearts you all know this. If we can't sell them to buy other players we need to play them. Before I get slated is Ohara better in midfield than foley is Johnson better the ebanks-landell is ward more of a threat on the wing than forde?

Hey come on, them guys are poison. landell looked good to me especially as a 20 YO debutante. this team are very young and have all been good at youth level. all they need is a win and some rhythm and they will be off. look at zeli last night, he started a bit slow but became more confident as the game went on. I don't think we should let the poisonous 3 back in because that just defeats the object and then what happens when they go? we don't need a quick fix we need to prime these lads for long term success. so let's not cry about it let's show them we are behind them every step of the way. WE ARE WOLVES.

Thank god we are out of that crap cup competition, we really don't need it and anyone out there who is moaning is deluded! Good positives from some of the young players though, well done lads. EBW

A competition which means you win a major trophy---something Dave Wagstaffe did.

I would rather concentrate on the task in hand - Promotion from League 1!!
Same in the Championship! Its a long season and we really don't need the extra games! EBW

Agree EBW we have L1, paint trophy & FA cup still to come. its good were out! I always want us to win but if we were to go far in the cup compos we would be a very tired team!

So. It's all going wrong already. KJ was always the cheap option. That is the M M way. let's face it, last season his team avoided relegation on the last day of the season. So can someone please explain to how appointing him was a forward step. And now after 2 games it is there for the world to see. We are selling all our better players and big wage earners and of course I understand this. But we HAVE to replace them. No team has ever filled a team full of youth players and then achieved success. It just DOES NOT HAPPEN. I am not one for jumping on a bandwagon but you have to ask yourself - what are Mr Morgans plans for our club? Is he really trying to ruin us? Is he bored with us? Now he has no use for us after gaining all this planning permission for Redrow have we become surplus to his requirements? I think all those are possible. Please Mr Morgan, do the honest thing and sell our club. We don't want you here. Take Moxey and Jacket with you and go. Before you kill our once great and proud club. GO NOW.

Agreed .

Bit harsh on Jackett his only been here 5 minutes, give him time

WILKO

after reading most of the posts about last night we all seem to agree we need a central midfielder. the second half was like watching last seasons games the ball coming straight back at our defence. who I thought our two central defenders were brilliant. I know most people don't like him but someone like danny murphy would have been a great signing for us. bags of experence.

Roll up, the circus is back in town on Saturday. Watch the big fat clown Jez as he amazingly leads his blinkered believers into free fall and still he remains in his job.
GET MOXEY OUT.

Stop with the moxey hate and try supporting what we have at the club!

Has there been a new date set for wolves walsall yet ED or anyone else know

07 Aug 2013 02:18:03
Don't agree with people saying we were terrible tonight and that we'll never get promoted etc etc "get Morgan and Moxey out etc etc" but I do agree with people saying we need a few more players in, zeli was alright, but Forde was quite most of the game so we could do with one or two fairly experienced wingers in. And, Davis is good in centre mid but he needs someone to compliment him (not tell him he looks nice) when he's playing there, again, an experienced ish centre mid that will hold back and let Davis control the passing which I believe he can do. Despite this, I think we need a creative centre mid as well, a man to get all the assists and the occasional goal, Harry Forrester did it excellently for brentford at this level last year and players like Silva, Carrick, Scholes, Mata and Lampard do it in the prem every year. That's only 4 signings, shouldn't break the bank too much, come on wolves, act and it for a change. Ps if there's any money left afterward, get a big target man to play up with Griffifths, Kevin Davies would have been perfect, but I reckon someone like Chris Porter or Clayton Donaldson would do well.

Brilliant post

I agree we wasn't terrible and we do need a few older heads in there Zeli looked good till he went off and you know it's not your night when you hit both posts and the bar but morecambe played well can't argue with it

07 Aug 2013 08:57:44
Hard for me to be as optimistic as you. We have yet to score a goal, and quite a few if these are required to get promoted. Ok our defence has been good but until we see LG etc scoring a few I'm preparing myself for another lacklustre season at best.

"We have yet to score a goal, and quite a few if these are required to get promoted". look at the league table. we've played one league game!. if we'd got a 0-0 draw in the middle of the season would you immediately start complaining about lack of goals?!. grow up and judge the team at Christmas, if you must!

Preston are also one of the big players of this league. Considering how the team has been shaped now I would say that we are wrong to expect that this season will be easy. I feel we aren't a relegated championship club, we ARE a GOOD league 1 club now. Drawing to Preston away is a good result considering, as I've said before, they fancy themselves to get promoted.

After tonights match I am really worried whether we are going to be able to break out of league 1. I know I shouldn't really comment till we are 10 games into the season but these guys just couldn't do the simple things tonight. We have no centre midfield at all. We need a creative player their and in my opinion that is doumbia but he has been exiled (unfairly in my opinion, he's a great player).

To be honest the defence was pretty good. Glad to see Batth was captain. Reckord was not that good but will get better with experience (same as the rest will) sadly simple passing and ball control was beyond his skill level. Ebanks-landell thought he had a decent game and obviously batth was very good. Liked Doherty he was our most attacking player. Plus defended decently. It was a shame the free kick went in but let's be honest that was one good free kick. Forde was pretty hopeless but he did have a couple decent shots. Foley was hopeless, along with davis. Ismail looks promising and needs to get games this season. In all our midfield was not good enough and think it would be unfair to judge strikers as they need service but just did not get it.

But we need a creative center midfielder otherwise we will be stuck in league one and honestly could be down at the bottom again with the poor football we have been playing.

06 Aug 2013 23:37:02
Ebanks landell played well at the back but need a new midfield and probly a striker

06 Aug 2013 23:32:12
Well it is confirmed that Doumbia is off to France tonight and as Kenny says Doyle won't be playing league cup football this season so it must mean he is off to Celtic where he would not be cup tied.

unfortunately I am getting a little suspicious of the comments being reported to come from Kenny as they all seem to be softening us up for the message, "we cannot afford anyone because of the troublesome four so tough, the kids will have to do it as we cannot afford anyone"

Moxey is a shrewd business man no doubt and compared to Coventry I know which I prefer, but with the commentary coming out of the club I am feeling uncomfortable that there maybe an acceptance by the board that we are where we are in the league (s) and as long as we are not bankrupt that is the best place to be.

Hopefully over the next few weeks we will see a few new faces offering experience across the pitch especially someone who can feed the forwards and someone to keep goal otherwise I have a feeling the bookies will clean up this season as the favourites miss out on promotion and as a supporter I have to accept that we consider ourselves a well run debt free club without ambition.

Finally, Come on Wolves

Thanks Warwick Wolf, pretty much agree with everything you said. Don't forget for every Coventry there is a United, City or Chelsea. I also think the board is letting the club finding its level without any financial input. But why won't they tell us their plans? Could it be that they realise that their only source of revenue, the fans, won't fork out quite so much to support a third tier club? Could it be that a third tier club won't need a CEO on an obscene salary and pension package? Do they realise that if they go down that route in ten years time you will see plenty of kids wearing Chelsea or Liverpool shirts about, but not too many of the home town club?
The silence is deafening!

Same old. dinosaur of a manager. dinosaur tactics. cheating owners, no investment, the kids are clearly not good enough. Morgan OUT. Moxey OUT. Jackett OUT
