Big players on big Wages is the only way forward. {Ed011's Note - I agree to a degree that as you progress you have to sign better and better and for more and more in terms of transfers and wages but I think we can get to mid table being smart paying at max £35,000-£40,000, after that to progress into the top ten I agree with you but we can't get big players in the Championship.
I presume you mean mid-table premier. That kind of money is plenty high enough. This puts footballers on £2m/year. Not sure I'd want to risk the club's finances to fund that kind of salary level. You're talking about a first team costing £20-30m per year and a total wage bill of more like £40-50m. {Ed011's Note - Yes I meant Premier, I'd rather not see us consistently mid-Championship again and we we were on that level last year and the year before with Roger Johnson being our first player on £40,000 and players like Doyle and O'Hara being on about £30,000.
Can't get big players in the championship! We was in the prem. For three years and still no big players face it as long as jez is there we ain't getting nowhere or no one.
Yes, Ed001, £30-40K per week per player for a mid-table championship team is a bit much and probably unsustainable.
We're probably still caught in Mick's mindset here. Paying up for players who didn't perform. SS's signings seem so much better already. {Ed011's Note - I meant that for maximum wages for our top, top players.
Couldnt get any big names players in the prem cos mccarthy didnt want them probably cos they would see though his rubbish
