Is anyone else worried about how many players we should be offloading? We all know we need to. The money is there it seems. A high profile manager (? ) will obviously want certain players of course. Most of which are Mendes related.
But who's in charge of getting rid of the dross? The Ben Hur lot as Lambert described it.
Who, is irrelevant. Ish. But the wage bill is soaring. We need a manageable squad.
I fear some contracts may have to be paid up. Costing more money.

As for how many. I would say 10 of the 13. so most of them are dross. We need proven an tested quality players don't we.? . isn't this the way successful teams compete in any league they are in? What we see before us is a recipe for future disaster! The quantity approach! Most of this lot would be average league 1 players at best to bottom of championship. just my opinion is all I'm saying. I'm sat here amazed at some of what they Fosun have done with new management and coaching staff (positive) . But then let's rush out and buy another team of dross? Thelwell should have been at the top of the list for removal a start! 😂👎 Rant over. We are drowning in dross!

Just wondering if Nuno can hack it in The Championship up against the likes of Steve Bruce, Harry Redknapp, Staam, Carvalho, and other battle hardened managers who know this league, your Gary Rowetts and Nigel Cloughs etc and a tad concerned about Fosun's ability to appoint a head coach.
Seems a bit deja vu from last year when we all got a little over excited and it did'nt quite go to plan. Forgot to mention Warnock/ Holloway. hope we don't get egg on our face again, that's all.

Goodness sake. We have a manager who has performed well at a high level. Do we really think he has come to Wolverhampton to build a team of dross? His negotiations would have demanded a squad of better quality than we have. This guy is used to success. Watch the next few weeks activity, then judge.

I remember a couple of seasons ago we were linked to a wonder kid from dundee utd whos a midfielder called ryan gauld. He was sold to sporting lisbon but has been struggling for game time.
with the portuguese connections you never know, could be the creative midfielder we crave.

Now Nuno is here can we all stop the negativity from certain posters on here and get behind Nuno and his team, but also Fosun who after years of dull boring management with morgan and moxey we have owners who have come in and could see the problems with the way the club was and got rid of the rubbish.

Im all up for this clear-out and new manager. Happy to have some mendes gems as well. But feel we need some experience. i'd go for someone cheap but wages will cost like, Barry, Carrick or Milner. It didn't hurt with Ince and Irwin. If QPR could get Rio Ferdinand for a season awhile back can't see why we cat try it again.

I was one of the many who thought Lambert should have been given more time to mould the squad however he's gone now and as fans there's nothing we can do. Only thing we can do now is get behind the new man and support him 100% and hope that Lambert finishes below us with his next team.

Given that Lambert has now officially left, I still don't understand why some people are shocked and saddened. What did the guy actually do for us and what did you see him doing next season that would have warranted keeping him? If you get rid of the FA Cup run and judge him on what he was brought in to do, get us up the league, he was dreadful and deserved to be let go. His team selections, especially at home, were so negative. Granted, he made two good January signings in Weimann and Marshall that had a positive impact on the team, but let's be honest Emile Heskey and Jimmy Bullard could have had a positive impact on this dire bunch of players we've somehow gathered.
Regarding the point every pundit and majority of fans are seemingly making about 'needing a British Manager with championship experience'. If you look at last years table, Rafa Benitez won the Championship despite having never managed in the league, Reading came third and made the play off final despite having a manager that has never actually managed a club let alone a championship one, Huddersfield won the play offs despite having a manager that, before Huddersfield, had only managed a reserves team, and been in the championship for less than 2 years. So, personally I feel that point is a load of b******s.
Finally, I feel we need to ship out probably 90% of our players from last year, with Marshall, Costa, Cav and Hause being the exceptions and build a whole new team around those.

Playing devils advocate. PL didn't have a change to shape the squad as he would have wanted. He may have completely overhauled the squad in the summer if given a chance.
Yes, some players who didn't deserve contracts got one year extensions. But was PL responsible for that choice?
I guess we will never know what his long-term plan was. But let's remember what squad he inherited before casting judgment. He probably wanted 15 or so players gone in his first window, like we did/ do, but couldn't justify a mass change after just coming in and with no potential money available.
I refuse to judge someones long term plans when only given a short term tenure.

Ed not sure this link is really in the right place here, but as long as it is I would suggest everyone has a quick read. It's very interesting to see a slightly different view on how well Silva did in his time at Hull. Clearly overall did a good job, but the signings were not all successful. Shows the scale of the job involved to succeed in a new country with new players in a short timescale. Let's hope for patience calm and positive support as we go forward.
