Like a lot of people I was really shocked when I got to the mol on Saturday and found out about Stearman. Thinking about though it shoudnt have been a surprise. Last year he was only given a two year deal so it should have been obvious that Jackett didn't see him staying long term. Edwards was only given a one year extention and its fair to assume that it's length of contract that's got McDonald unhappy. You can see why the clubs not keen on longer deals after the O'Hara and Johnson saga not to mention a couple of others Boukari and Sigurdarson who are still on the wage bill. Looking elsewhere at deals that went through 2 year deals are becoming more the norm in the championship. Only one championship club spent really big in this window Derby (net spend I'm talking about). If the figures quoted in the papers are true then they've driven a coach and horses through the fair play rules. They look as though they've spent around £12 mill . This season clubs are only allowed to overspend by £6 mill. Seems to me they are gambling on avoiding a transfer embargo by going up this year. Wolves are gambling everything on these kids coming good. Has Jackett got it right will these kids be good enough? Only time will tell us that.

Lack of ambition in the club.
Squad is no more than mid table.
How many more one for the future players put him in u21 squad signings.
Centre of midfield is appalling so we've kept signing wingers.
Love youth but come on experience is also needed.

End of window, (with us completing some very good business, in my opinion) and signal for M&M bashers to appear en masse. But most significant feature of this was change of approach from clubs Three key points: club will only sell a player if they want to sell him, clubs will only sell if their valuation is met and finally foreign clubs have finally realised they can ask whatever price they want when selling to Premiership teams.

With the above in mind, keen to know which players the knockers would have brought in and how much they would have paid to do so. Give us all an o to opportunity likelihood of their bids succeeding or not.

As I said, I'm happy with our business and think we will do better in emergency loan window, with option to buy in January where possible.

Stearmans exit will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.Far to often he was caught out of position and is too slow in my opinion. We now have pace all across the back line and ok they might all be a bit green but havn't we all.
I personally think we'll be ok and will still challenge for promotion and with a shrewd loan signing up front(Dwight Gayle)all this will soon be water under the bridge

Another transfer window closes and all that is to show is an ordinary Division one player and a 1m profit from the sale of our best player.
The loss of our best striker for the season(get well soon Nouha)
A futile bid of 4m for Joe Mason just to appease supporters, an insult to our intelligence.
M&M where's is your ambition?. people hear your words but feel your attitude.
Grow some and invest in our club!

I really expected a striker. I guess we can limp through September so long as Afobe or ALF isn't injured otherwise we're a bit thin up front to say the least.

I'm cool about Stearman. He's been playing some good football lately (wsn't always the case) and I like having established and loyal players like him, but there's a lot of competition for his spot and he won't want to spend the rest of his contract on the sidelines, fading into the background like Jody Craddock did. I think £2m is a fair price and he's game for a new challenge.

Oxly Afobe McDonald and a few others were signed from Div 1 mate

02 Sep 2015 22:07:36
Ordinary division 1 player? If u don't know what a player is like don't comment. Byrne is a fantastic player who will easily settle in the first team on the wing. I am over the moon with this signing. I appreciate the fustration over no new striker but we will get one on loan. No way will we waste money on deadline day on a 3rd choice striker. If the Ms were such money grabbers they would have sold ben 10

BIged this is a "forum" which is by definition a platform for people to express their opinions. Therefore I will continue to comment as and when I feel it appropriate. I do not to advised when and not when to comment
Your opinion on certain players is your opinion, others may not necessarily share that opinion, that is what a forum is designed for.
