O'Hara leaving by mutual consent. In other words we have to buy out his contract. Looks like we can't even give him away.

Just a thought lads: if we could sign Steven Taylor from Newcastle, we could have a midfield of Saville, Rowe and Taylor.

{Ed003's Note - Would be a perfect fit :) }

Wouldn't 'suit' some though!

McDonald? Our best midfielder!

Going off track a bit but does anyone remember a game we played against Cardiff, probably in the late 60's. I was there and seem to remember the score was 7-0 to us and I think it was Bobby Thompson scored from near the halfway line. If anyone can tell me the score and date I would be much obliged.

21 september 1966, in the old league division 2 (what is now called 'the championship'), wolves won 7-1 against cardiff at the molineux

I was at the game, 7-1 was correct. Piggy Wharton scored a hat trick (2 from penalties). If I remember rightly we also beat Portsmouth 8-2 in the previous season 6-0 at half time so we definitely took the foot off the pedal 2nd half, Holsgrove, Woodruff and Macilmoyle scored 2 each.
On a separate point does anyone remember Dave Woodruff sending Mike Summerbee about 6 rows up into the stand in the 1-2 loss against Man City in August 65? Sent off of course and was the 1st Wolves player to be sent off in a league game for 29 years.

Thanks for your answers. Macilmoyle was one of my favourite players because of his salmon like jumps.

Koanmel, I think that was Dave Woodfield not Dave Woodruff, but yes he was knocked a few rows up the old molineux street stand, If I recall the whistle had already gone but none of them heard it, Summerbee backed up Dave Woodfield later over it

What shirt number will saville have?

Are you thinking of getting his name on the back of a shirt? If so, I respectfully advise you to reconsider.
