Why do those words from Roy Hodgson keep ringing in my ears ..." be careful what you wish for" when there calls for MM sacking
SW

Trouble is he was sacked a year too late, just look at the squad!!!!! maybe the reason half the managers wont take the 13 games temporary, has micks hapless waste of time championship squad!!! i for 1 am not sad to see him go.

20 Feb 2012 22:13:03
wolves are interviewing all candidates with these credentials
1 male
2 a football manager
3 has a letter of the alphabet in ther name
4 doesnt like spending money
5 will do as told no arguments
6 happy to accept clipboard as number 2
7 will always play henry and ward]
any manager willing to accept will have names put into hat and the tea lady will pick the very lucky winner.

Actually made me laugh uncontrollably

Strachan, Keane, Bruce, Curbs et al are all managers of a certain, but limited ability. (Perhaps a tad harsh on Curbs...) However we should NOT dispair. Clarke, Poyet or any other "relative" smaller, but younger manager may well turn out to be our Sir Alex. The 2MMs know that the appointment will be seen as their signal of intent. Thus, I for one feel we will end up with a good 'un.

May well turn out to be our what? Hooold on thar fella, Sir Alex or plain old Alex as he was then was a proven manager by the time Utd got him. Scottish Leagues, Cups to beat the band with Aberdeen and a couple of European honours as well. You just know we're not going there.

The expectation of Christmas day can be better than Christmas day itself! He could be our Alan Pardew then!

Might have argued prior but not post (his appointment).

Still reckon Katie Price ( Jordan) is top of the list. This has displayed what a laughing stock the Wolves Board are, sack Mick( well deserved) without an alternative plan. They should all go what a bunch of ****** {Ed003's Note - if you could stop using that word even with one letter starred you would save me a bit of time,thank you :-) }

Whilst we're on the subject is swearing prohibited on here ed? not that i wand to ef n blind though! {Ed033's Note - There are people of all ages on here and what's the point in using profanity anyway.}

Im not saying there is but just wanted to clear it up for future references (i can see alot of frustration coming along!)
thanks for clearing that up though ed :)

20 Feb 2012 21:23:09
Can't believe the incompetence they have sacked the manager and it seems no-one wants the job. What is going on? Division 2 here we come again. What a bunch of ******* we have running this club. I despair!

20 Feb 2012 21:19:54
Steve Bruce is in line to take charge of wolves. Second interviews are still taking place but I expect Steve to be offered the job.
Reports are curbishley turned it down but I cannot confirm or deny this.
Like I said earlier several managers will have been contacted but in fairness the club believe they've got there man.
I'm not a huge Bruce fan but it is what I've been told the position is at present
Wolvesinsider

This is the first time I disagree with you. They will not employ Bruce cause of fans backlash. They have agreedcompo as well with Brighton!!

That's a big statement "agreed compo". Or seeking ok to talk (which might require a provisional agreement on compo)? Any indication of which?

They haven't agreed compo! There has been an approach to interview. This was at the moment declined!

would like poyet and wilkins, since wilkins has left chelsea its all gone tits up hes a good football man and players love him, we need fresh thinking in there and axe needs to fall on those players who just are not upto the grade, 12 months too late, i bet a few players are in bits now MM has left as lets face it a couple of them must have been his bum chums!

20 Feb 2012 20:11:14
lots of fans talking about 13 game conbtract but what manager with any ambition will take that job unless he keeps it if we stay up?
we have to bite the bullet and plan long term so if we do go down we have to live with that and let the new guy try to get us back up asap.
Therefore Poyet, Clarke or similar have to be the way forward...forget Bruce, Curbs etc. we need to start a new approach to the way we play...look at Swansea and Norwich if you don't believe me

Getreading understands that Royals boss Brian McDermott met with Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this evening about the vacant manager™s job at the Premier League side.

Sources suggest that McDermott is due to meet incoming Reading owner Anton Zingarevich tomorrow and the Russian is believed to be keen to keep the 50-year-old at Madejski Stadium.

Wolves, who sacked Mick McCarthy a week ago, are also believed to be in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet and another potential candidate

This is true follow @jonnyfordham on twitter hes the reading fc reporter.

20 Feb 2012 19:37:38
The next round of interviews are for anybody that has managed a team or run the line in the Wolverhampton Sunday league.
Before you get to excited you had more money to spend then than you will have now.

20 Feb 2012 19:37:34
Zeli scored a hat trick for the youth's today against Bolton. Get him in the squad for Saturday

20 Feb 2012 19:30:43
As i mentioned last week, they were too hasty in sacking McCarthy.
Roy Hogdson said '' BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR''.
Now look at us!!
Five days until Newcastle and still no earer in employing a new manager.
Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, QPR must be having a right laugh in thinking there are only two other teams to join us.
Sort it out Morgan/Moxey
Bring back McCarthy
Bring back Hayward

Bring back Hayward????? If Hayward had spent the money in the first place when Jones was manager we wouldn't be in this mess

20 Feb 2012 19:06:31
roy keane was wearing a gold and black tie yesterday in stevenage, sending out a message that hes in?

20 Feb 2012 18:48:17
is this the reason for the Brighton last night? They new he was leaving.

20 Feb 2012 18:23:18
We've inquired about Poyet according to SSN

20 Feb 2012 18:16:39
Connor caretaker until the end of the premiership aka the end of Wolves...Compton has been declared private until Morgan builds his highly profitable estate...or to protect themselves from snipers..just hide behind Moxey his gut is big enough.

My biggest fear is conner gets the job

20 Feb 2012 17:44:38
As a big club, should we not be making sure we go for and get the man we want, and also trust there judgement on what needs to be done for the tram to suceed? the way this is going i dont know who we will end up with and they will know for sure that they were our 7th choice!! great start that. What a MESS!!

20 Feb 2012 17:29:02
As a fan this is just agonising!! we seem to be jumping around with no real focus at all. i hav ejust heard Moxley is looking for someone with the initial MM so they dont need to invest in a new track suit!! come on chaps sort it out, and make sure its a good choise cus i aint gonna renew me season ticket if it aint.

Probably Marilyn Manson...hear he's keen on the job

20 Feb 2012 17:26:52
What is all this INTERVIEW RUBBISH, why are they entertaining half the people mentioned, footballs pretty simple i think! you take a look at whos available there records with the resources they have had and go approach them with a deal, no wonder curbishley has pulled out, or seen stearman and half the muppets train and thought stuff this there useless.
4d

Naa he watched johnson trying to organise his defence n when he was told that he couldnt make henry captin again he was im out of here

but on a serious note poyet or clarke for me think both would be good shouldnt take this long to appoint someone well saying that we are wolves we do take forever to do things

20 Feb 2012 17:12:38
2 m's want souness or keane. both seamingly to tattle the cages of the players and get em going again. tbh i dont think we need this. think we need an arm round the shoulder and some decent tactics now

20 Feb 2012 16:55:36
All of the guesswork is very entertaining but let's face it, it doesn't really matter who we get. Football Managers are all gonna be considered rubbish at some stage.

It's just one big gravy train rewarding failure after failure.

Hughes fails at Man City, goes to QPR
Warnock fails at QPR, goes to Leeds
Grayson fails at Leeds, gets Huddersfield

Lee Clark fails at Huddersfield, Gary Megso appears to have gone from Wednesday, Bruce fails at Sunderland....

There will always be another club willing to take a punt 'cos it's jobs for the boys.

Whoever we get, we get. If he can postpone failure for 13 games he'll be a hero irrespective of where he faile last time.

Agree with most all apart from Lee Clark comment, he did pretty well.

20 Feb 2012 16:52:32
looks like bruce is gona be our manager who normally plays a defensive team, no better than mccarthy

Mccarthy 2 he is ,,,,we are going to be in trouble now if he gets it

We already are

20 Feb 2012 16:48:44
What a mess. Along with the pie and a pint, no city parade on winning the championship and developing ground on off saga.
Moxey is a complete knob who needs getting rid of.
Who ever takes over will know they are 4th,5th or maybe 6th choice.

20 Feb 2012 16:42:29
Right, I'm going to put a bet on (insert name) and state on this site I have it on good authority that (same name) has been interviewed and is going to be offered the post today. Then I'll lay it off in a couple of hours time. That's what this board is starting to sound like.

20 Feb 2012 16:29:57
I still reckon Katie Price is the best candidate for this lot, Moxey and Morgan,
a bigger pair of posers I couldn't name. Shame!

I wasn't expecting the word "posers" as I read that sentence.

20 Feb 2012 15:33:08
Whoever is new manager they must bring in new coaching staff or nothing will change !

20 Feb 2012 14:57:28
Did anyone see the Stevenage game yesterday?....now that was passion!
Whoever comes in if they can get half of that and perhaps pre-contract Wilson and Byrom from Stevenage into the bargain we will be fine

20 Feb 2012 14:37:30
Lee Clark has to be the man....if he's fortunate enough to save us then he gets the premier status bonus...if as expected not even Sir Alex could do the job...so the all important proven successful championship experience is there...he would be the only option for a longer term deal I can see.
Bruce wants megga money to spend and would probably jump ship if he had Wolves in a decent championship position next season...Curbishley was looking for his swan song but finishing a failure didn't appeal to him

Sorry I meant battling in lower divisions experience was there...not much to choose between Championship or League 1 really as they're all a battleground

20 Feb 2012 14:11:52
Love to know what the difference of vision was between Morgan and Curbishley for him to pull out of the race. Any thoughts wolvesinsider?

The difference of vision is a play on words.
More accurately put is a difference in funds required for investment and funds available.

Curbs wanted his own assistant manager but conner carnt be sacked job for life that's why he's been here so long

20 Feb 2012 11:07:26
I want holloway 7/1 great shout class manager

Terry Connor 66/1 with Coral. That's worth a punt...

20 Feb 2012 00:08:25
