Right. The Ian Cathro debate. We've got to address it sooner or later. Thoughts?

01 Aug 2017 19:05:39
If Nuno wants him so be it. Welcome to Wolves Ian πŸ‘.

01 Aug 2017 19:40:02
Can be a bit arrogant I've heard. But very clued up.

01 Aug 2017 20:16:20
To be honest. as long as he knows how to coach that's all that mattersπŸ‘.

01 Aug 2017 20:33:54
Its not really a debate. He worked with Nuno at 2 previous clubs and has an excellent reputation as a coach.
Arrogant? Probably high in self confidence and wants to win.
He has realised he is not manager material as yet so hopefully he has learnt from the Hearts experience.
So if Nuno wants him as a coach so be it.
End of debate 😊.

I'm in agreement here guys. I just hope it doesn't upset the equilibrium of the team. We've spent 2 months learning a new system, which I'm sure IC is familiar with. I just don't want him to balls up the momentum we have a couple of days prior to kick off! Christ I'm getting the jitters already!

I'm sorry.
Let's hope it all works out.

01 Aug 2017 15:59:34
Duckens Nazon has scored another "thunderous" pre season goal for the U23's. Surely ready for promotion to the first team squad. Give him a chance from the bench if necessary.

01 Aug 2017 20:51:34
Youve got a very good point Wollabby. If he's 23, highly rated and scoring goals when we need a striker, why hasn't he at least figured in our pre season friendlies when a 16 y. o has? doesn't make much sense to me, but in Nuno we trust!

01 Aug 2017 12:40:48
Ian Cathro is set be part wolves management team - he got his licence with Nuno in Scotland and has worked with Nuno at Valencia and the club Nuno at before porto he very highly regarded in football circles was hearts manager but didn't work out - this info has come from none other than Alex Rae.

01 Aug 2017 12:48:14
Didn't realise he'd just been sacked. He did well working with Nuno. Maybe coaching is more for him rather than management.

01 Aug 2017 14:21:23
Hearts fans wanted him gone. Must have been a "done deal" as he only left Hearts this morning.

01 Aug 2017 15:26:50
Probably like Brian Kidd, a good number 2 but useless manager.

01 Aug 2017 15:47:47
Or Terry Connor.

01 Aug 2017 12:39:54
I really don't rate Afobe, he really needs the ball on a plate to finish, I'm surprised Dickleburgh may be going, Andre Gray for me.

01 Aug 2017 13:35:56
Agreed WWclaregate! Tried and tested. But fiesty, but who cares about that?! Puts the ball in the net. βš½οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜‰.

01 Aug 2017 16:21:24
Isn't that what was happening at Leicester, the ball being put on a plate but we didn't have anyone to score them.

What was it the crowd used to chant about Afobe? He scores when he wants? How many with Jota, Neves, Cav, Costa, Graham around him?

01 Aug 2017 16:38:10
We should sign both Afobe and Gray. One would win the games the other struggled with, we'd be almighty and famous for it.

02 Aug 2017 12:45:01
WWClaregate - Needs the ball on a plate to finish? Are we talking about the same Benik Afobe? We can't be. Either that or you don't understand football! Just look at his career goals on you tube. If you don't change your mind after watching that then I won't waste my breath explaining why you are so way off the mark with your statement!

01 aug 2017 12:16:30
tim nash reporting ex hearts manager ian cathro at the mol helping out used to work with nuno,

01 Aug 2017 12:13:06
Abel Hernandez next please and then that's us done! eat and most exciting transfer window for a very very long time!

01 Aug 2017 14:16:10
Wolves 4 life, I agree, just the job, a goalscorer with Championship experience at a sensible price who would do wonders with the right sort of service. Give Hull Baath in exchange and it should be a slam dunk. Let's make it happen before the weekend.

01 Aug 2017 21:23:42
Wollabby thing is he's available too and at a snippet of the price been quoted for other players we are linked with. 1 more striker of quality and we have a completed puzzle and he fits the bill all ends up!

01 Aug 2017 11:48:19
Bonatini, on loan I think that makes 4 loanies, howmany are we allowed and how many are on deals that we have options on to make permanent, does anyone know, do we think it is to get around ffp.

01 Aug 2017 12:03:10
Wolves posted this week that with taking players over 5 year contracts spaces the payment over 5 years. So to date we are Β£7m spend into FFP for this season and it's taken over a 3 year period. We can go to Β£15 a Β£17m a season.

But.
If we achieve promotion to the Premiership, that figure becomes Β£37m a season. Not 100% certain on exact figures but these are pretty damn close.

So the quicker we get to the promised land the better, then we're in the cheating league so FFp seems to go out of the window for the elite. πŸ‘πŸŽŽπŸ‘.

01 Aug 2017 13:42:42
5 I believe Hednesford.

01 Aug 2017 10:30:01
Leo Bonatini to score 20+ goals this season, remember this post.

01 Aug 2017 10:49:54
Welcome Leo Bonatini!

01 aug 2017 13:24:51
scores with both feet but mostly left.

01 Aug 2017 13:39:31
I used to work in Saudi. Not much to do other than watch football in spare time. The standard of play there is not great but they pay foreigners well. I reached out to a couple of mates to see if they had any experience of watching Leo. All responses were very positive stating he was one of the league's super stars. However, they also stated he used to drift in and out of games because of what looked like boredom. I guess that won't happen in the championship! First time poster UTW.

01 Aug 2017 10:26:29
So Leo is a wolf. Who next?

01 Aug 2017 10:08:46
About time bonatini checks in on wolves site.

31 Jul 2017 23:38:00
Not a rumour but I'd be happy to take Danny Ings on loan for a season? Can't see him getting many games for Liverpool and has a proven goalscoring record! Just putting it out their πŸ‘.

01 Aug 2017 08:04:58
He's injured.

31 Jul 2017 23:21:56
Please. Please. please will people stop banging on about Afobe and living in the past. He effectively forced through his transfer and refused to play until he got his wishes. Selfish player who plays for the money and big ego. If he came back and started doing well had do exactly the same. no loyalty and bad attitude. There's no doubting his ability but not the sort of person you want in the dressing room. The only player who ide take back is Sako but he won't drop down a league. let's move on guys we want fresh blood.

01 Aug 2017 02:04:06
M&M convinced Afobe to stay on the promise they'd spend proper money to replace Sako, then didn't, got a free loan off Morgans mates at Liverpool, then sold PotS Stearman. It was immediately obvious the season wasn't going to end in promotion, Morgan quit and put the club up for sale. M&M betrayed Afobe's trust, abandoned ambition, it's no wonder his morale was broken. I bet most of our new Portuguese players would have been exactly the same.

01 Aug 2017 08:41:35
So your idea of improving our image is to bring back a player who spat his dummy out and showed a complete lack of class, dignity and an unprofessional attitude by forcing a move whilst sulking. Whether or not what you state is true, players get paid more than enough to give 100% and do their job to the best of their ability. Afobe didn't! Many of us go to work with low morale but still do our job otherwise we would be out of one. As for our brand we are founder members of the league, we paved the way for what has ultimately resulted in the champions league and are renowned all over the world by football fans everywhere. How do we improve on being world famous?

01 Aug 2017 09:49:01
South Banker,
I'm not taking sides in the Afobe argument. There are pros and cons, as there are with any signing. I'd correct your last couple of sentences. We used to be world famous. Past tense. Fosun will have a good go at restoring that status.

01 Aug 2017 11:57:29
ULF is Afobe's agent.
