I'm a new poster on here but have been reading your responses with interest.
My opinion is that if the club wasn't close to a takeover then why so much silence?
Even by Wolves standards if a deal is about to collapse Jez would be frantically scouring the bargain bin of talent
within a 2 mile radius of Wolvo just to keep fans from burning him at the stake.

I agree that the silence and lack of any sort of transfer activity indicates that the takeover is going through its normal process. Ed's post are the best summary of the process.

But why do it at all? Yes he would delete once he realised people were onto it given the secrecy surrounding the deal. I personally know nothing but these sort of FACTS are worthy of interest and make more sense than rumours based in bs and conjecture.

A bit of digging shows Lopetegui's goalkeeping coach at both Porto and Spain U19's, is a bloke called Juan Carlos Arevalo. Apparently he has strangely started following loads of Wolves sites on Twitter.?
Don't shoot the messenger. I'm not on Twitter, but I got told this info. doesn't mean the takeovers on or off, but strange don't you think?

Ballague gets majority of his info from agents and therefore is often fed info just raise the profile of the agents' clients whether true or not.
{Ed041's Note - I think you give him to much credit. He jumps on the back of twitter rumours and passes them off as his own. Ed01 once told me a funny story about posting a fake rumour knowing he was stealing some off these pages and it appeared on his website.

People are clutchin at straws with the Spanish reporter on holiday were strugglin for proper info, so people are makin stuff up or puttin 2+2 together and makin 5. Imo I think the deals done and for some reason the announcement has been held up? Whether it's because the league or fa have still got the paper work or the new owner is still negotiating with our new coach and possible incoming players? Your guess is as good as mine mate. Let's hope for positive news this week.

I live, in Spain Karlis and local knowledge from Spanish press identifies Caperes as the front runner dispite his age ( (60) . I tend to believe the Spanish press more than the English regarding football matters right now.

Let's be honest unless you are morgan or moxey yourself, then no one knows exactly what's going on even jackett is kept in the dark and being told very little, so all these sources claiming they have people connected to the club are laughable.
So what do we know? Well since Guillem Balague first tweeted we are being sold to robin li and would appoint Julen Lopetegui. it was only then jackett confirmed all transfer dealings are on hold and it has also been confirmed in recent weeks Julen Lopetegui has rejected the spain job. So I do think there is truth in Guillem Balague's tweets as everything he has tweeted has nearly all been confirmed. Other journalists are getting little bits of information and trying to guess what's happening just to get "hits" as there is so much attention on the sale of the club. So if there is anyone to belive I'll go with the person who first let us know we are being sold, as other journalists still wouldn't have a clue that anything was even happening and the fact he has now gone on holiday gives all other journalists the chance to create these stories. Guillem Balague is one of the most respected football journalists in the world so I don't think he would just randomly create a story up and go into some much detail if he didn't know the facts. Boom.

The deal has to be announced by Thursday 21st of July or there will be no deal. The full moon over Beijing will be at its brightest after that date so no business transactions are allowed for the following 3 months. That is Chinese custom.

Not saying this is an issue, PT is obviously joking, but re Spanish wolf some Chinese customs are a 'potential' factor, lucky number 8 determined their entire strategy over their Olympics.
Logic isn't king in human thinking, if it was the World would be a simple and easy place with no issues, more than anything else prejudice (superstitions, traditions, fashions, loyalties, fears and hopes etc, how we feel) is what decides people. We can contrive to think objectively but on mass we live and behave subjectively.
And I agree this stuff lightens the mood, it has no more chance of being right or wrong than many of the unsourced rumours :-)

I got a number 8 from the Shanghai Duck takeaway last full moon and spent the next two days lurking near the toilet, so that clearly means we too are heading down the pan with this deal. On the other hand I know this guy from hong Kong and he won £25 on the lottery on Wednesday the 8th so that means the deal won't happen until August 8th because all 3 billion Chinese will see that as a sign of good fortune.

I remember 13 years ago when me and my wife signed the contract on our house. We signed on the Monday and moved in the next day. We wanted it this way so that our solicitor couldn't read the contract and point out any concerns. NOT. These things take time so why not do as I'm doing and prepare for the new season with Morgan, Moxey and Jackett in charge. The deal will go through in the next couple of weeks giving us until the end of August to buy players. If it doesn't happen, then the threadbare squad has until the end of August to be added to. I'm sure these billionaires know what they're doing which is why they are billionaires and we are not.

For what its worth and only me guessing based on rumour. I think Mendes is the driving force behind the deal and he is pulling together the finance, perhaps in the form of a consortium. It may have been that Robin was originally interested in joining the consortium but when he found out full details he decided against it. Maybe if Ding Lei was the other investor he felt that he wouldn't get a loud enough voice. Or maybe Wolves were a standby option in CA's AC Milan fell through. Either way with the amount of money going into club ownership it looks like we are not going to be the big financial noise in the prem we were dreaming of. In fact with that Baggie's deal we won't be the big noise in the West Midlands. But we will have the chance to get a balanced team on the pitch, compete for some decent players and maybe hang on to iorfa. If there are changes in consortium that would explain the delay. Actually it wouldn't seem like a delay if the news hadn't been released in Spain. Probably would have been better if news had not been released, but then we would have been going crazy at the lack of signings.

The amount of money doesn't matter, millions, billions, as long as there is investment in the squad, Morgan has ran the club down, if it's Li great, if not hopefully someone else will buy the club and make a go of it.
