Genuine question but am I the only one who thinks Danny is overated? Big fan of his enthusiasm for the game, but his passing ability is very poor and his defensive positioning not great. I know he's still young(ish), but I feel at a higher level he would really be found out. Nothing personal against the lad, just think we may well be held to ransom by an at present average player.

Totally agree. Maybe that's why we are looking at the lad from Sheff Utd

What are you on about? Our defence has been solid this season and DB has been a BIG part of that. IMO he is our best CB.

I think distribution is the area he needs to improve most but he is our most consistant cb we have had for years awsome attitude and will be a premiership player at some stage don't forget he is relativly inexperienced compared to roger johnston andceven now is a better defender. Certainly first game of season against kevin davies he marked him

out of the game

He might not be the finished article but when has our central defence looked as solid as it does now?

Just signed new 3 year deal great news

Best signing at cb since Dean Richards. The cub cum Wolf will be a legend.the realist.

Not wolves related, but well done and congratulations to Cristiano Ronaldo on winning the BALLON D'OR. What a player he is 62goals in 52apps for 2013. We can only wish for a player of his quality. Maybe we have the next Ronaldo in Eusebio?

If Eusebio Bancessi is a tenth of the player Ronaldo is, I will be happy

I'd be amazed if he was that good although we have a good history of producing good players

14 Jan 2014 13:29:36
Do you think so? We produce maybe one world class player per decade. Keane and Lescott were probably the only ones in the last 20 years.

Very true, we don't produce as many prem quality players as the likes of Southampton and Liverpool etc, but we certainly bang out a fair few good enough for every level of the football league

Wouldn't put Lescott as world class. Best defender we have produced for years though. Now keane is exceptional look at his record for Ireland - 60 odd goals in 130ish games.

Imagine if England had somebody with that record.

I think Lescott is very underrated though, may not be up here with the best of them but certainly good enough for the England and Man city team sheet. Surely he's better than Demichelis? Bit unlucky in respect to England team, as I though he played excellently pretty much every game he played, unfortunately, Jagielka and Cahill have formed a great partnership and pushed him out a bit

When Lescott left us he was one of the most wanted defenders in the country, and that was despite being injured for ages. Soon after he was called up by England. By English standards that probably makes him world class. Only Rio and Terry as defenders might claim to be ahead of him during that time.

If he moved from City to e.g. Villa he would play every game and get more England caps.

Interesting to wonder how well Keane would have done in an England shirt. Would probably have been prefered to Crouch and Defoe. Imagine a Keane/Rooney strike partnership?

Euro - Robbie wouldn't have got in the England side. Remember we had "the golden generation"

A move for Florent Cuvelier of sheffield united would be a great buy!

Awful player

Dunno about the rest of you, but even though we aren't massively clear at the top, I'm genuinely excited about the future of this team. We have some excellent players in our squad, most of which are you as well. Not only that but we're buying players that are actually better than the ones we have for a change, that doesn't usually happen at wolves. For me, this is a great time to support wolves and I can't wait to see what we can achieve with the likes of Henry, Jacobs, Dicko, Evans, McDonald, Doherty, Batth and possibly Griffifths.

Regarding transfer rumours, I would love to see McGregor, Maguire and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas come in, as I think all 3 would add something to the team. I would also like to see Sako, Foley and O'Hara leave the club, along with maybe Doyle, Griffifths and Siggy, but I'd definitely prefer those last 3 to stay. Doyle's a player I've always liked, Griffifths has untapped potential and Siggy really has something to prove/offer us as a centre forward and I think he could do it given the chance. But, saying all that, I don't think I'd be too angry if none of it happened, disappointed maybe a bit, but not angry, because we have already made some excellent signings in this window and that could be enough, who knows?

Werewolf

Siggy surprised me think he can play far better than we have seen this season, can't understand why he isn't playing better

Now that we have Dicko and are rumoured to get Callum mcgregor from Celtic if we were to get him I think griff would go to Celtic what striker would you sign? (Realistic) or would you not sign a striker big wolfLAD

Clayton Donaldson.

None we have mclinden, sigurdarson and Doyle. I don't count Cassidy as I don't see him as a footballer yet ;)

LOL poster 3 you made me laugh for a couple of minutes sayin Cass ain't a footballer yet

Jay Emanuel-Thomas or Dave Mcgoldrick

is there anybody out there that we are not linked to?

It makes a change though to have real rumours. if only we could of been like this in the prem

Has Christmas come again in January, all this transfer speculation and a rumour of Morgan selling to Arabs? Anyone else heard this, I hear he wants back what he has invested and he will walk?

13 Jan 2014 14:07:18
I can't get excited about overseas control. I guess any well supported club will attract interest especially when form dips like with us just now.

We can buy success like Man City have. And it will be fun. But will it be Wolves?

The club, its name and its history is marketable abroad. If a rich Arab is looking to buy us a European Cup he's more than welcome to.

What has morgan invested? A tenner plus bulding a white elephant! what has he taken out? . All the tv money, all the parachute money = over £200m & limited spend in transfer windows. no explanation or confirmation of his withdrawals. morgan out

Is it fun now trying to second guess the pie man and bob the builder. Never seeing them again would be a bonus. Foreign investors would see it as a status symbol if the area they are rumoured from is true and that can only be riding high in the prem. I'd rather be rich and winning than a well run club dishing out bull and kicking the cat in frustration.

Where does this storey originate from?

Just when we have morale spot on with players who put in a shift why oh why would we want an attitude player such as Leon Clarke who rarely puts in half a shift?
