We are certainly in for a ride with SB.
But what a breath of fresh air.
Got to beat the smell of stagnancy we have been suffering.
Come on Stale!

Everybody on here did their usual "what a load of bull" when I said I'd seen Uwe Rosler on the Compton road a while back...It didn't make much sense at the time but with the appointment of SB it now starts to...He has known SB for over 10 years through Norwegian league and may well have been sounding out the set up...maybe even likely to come to the Wolves to join him?
Bit I can't understand as it was before SB left cologne...so it may well be that this is no panic surprise appointment but that this was the man SM wanted all along.

Whos SB

Stale Solbakken = SS not SB
(we have all done so well spelling his name but we cant get his initials correct)

Well it's not Sepp Blatter is it..SolBakken isn't that hard to work out

^ but his name is not sol bakken its solbakken(one word). initials = first letter of first name and first letter of last name which in Stale Solbakkens case = SS not SB

O like you mean mcCarthy was mc? SB is Steve bull - tc is terry Connor. Getting the idea now? SS is our new manager.

Typical pedantic happy clapper no doubt...concentrate on the matters in hand and stop picking flies..dyslexic I bayme..SB SS who cares..as an adage if you know anything about norse names...Stale is the swedish version of Stali which means steel..Sol is the goddess of sun but in names tends to be a variation of salr meaning house..Brakken is likely a variation on braken meaning fern..so Steel Housefern it is! SH

Mick McCarthy had MC on his kit ware because his second name has two CAPITAL letters if you look at any manager they will have the first letter of their first name and the first letter of their second name printed on their kit ware. so yes SS not SB

Mick had mm telling us it didn't stand for merlin the magician!

Get real. Pathetic. You did not see Uwe Rosler going into Compton and he has no substantial link to Super Solbakken.

Re the E&S website - there are a lot of welcoming voices, and there are a lot of relieved people saying things like "glad it wasn't ykw, or whoever" and a fair number of desperate people saying "just glad we have a manager" or "whoever the club appoints is fine with me".

Ok I'm with the people who want to reserve judgement. Yes he has had (principally) domestic success with Copenhagen, but didn't cut it at Cologne - one of 25 in the last 26 years tell a story there in fairness. But he did go to them - with their history - and it didn't work out.

So how well thought out is this appointment i.e. how long has he been on our radar? Since before or after Feb 13 or perhaps on or after 12 April? Anyone know?

Finally the timing/leaking of the appointment is frankly kak, disrespectful of the stand-in manager who has one match left to play and more than hints of desperation/playing to the crowd - in a word, unprofessional.

Let's hold our horses and see what happens.

Or maybe he thought decent league to manage in I'll take it

let's take on a manager who was fired in april and has just seen his team relegated from the bundasliga! great work moxey on what grounds can you justify this ?

Don't care. He's here now and I for one am 100% behind him. I feel like a weight has been lifted

Nothing to do with Moxey ,,morgan as done this and well done to him as well

Some people are never happy - good cv apart from his last post. Get behind him for gods sake - he might surprise you.

His last club have an average of 1 club every year and he had to deal with loads there with players being put in jail and podolski wanting to move. SO GIVE HIM A CHANCE AND SUPPORT HIM 100%. I AM

Hodgson at liverpool was shocking, wba took a chance on him and you know how good he got them playing , so lets not just look at the last job they done but overall how good theyve done

The championship ive read is the fourth most popular league in the world attendan ce wise there are some traditionaly big clubs competing cant wait to see ss on the touchline ive got a feeling we could have our own special one you never know brave decision mr morgan

11 May 2012 22:06:21
For anyone who is knocking Solbakken,
I think this guy is taking a step down coming to wolves,
think about it he is use to 30/40k crowds and managed in the champions league and beat top teams.
I think Morgan as pulled off a master stroke here and should be applauded for it cos in the past we would got a Mccarthy or a Holloway

looking forward to next season now,
something different for once

For anyone who thinks TC loved the club.

He would have never have tried to get the job if he loved the club.
He must of knew he was way out of his depth
4 points out of 30 odd says it all.
but this guy wanted the job and could have really damaged our club if he got it so stop sticking up for him.
Unless ur a albion fan

And who would have managed us for last 13 games if he had said thanks but no thanks? You can't blast him for believing he could do something. Would you not fight for something you believe in?

Tc for his limitations loves wolves dont forget tc is a wolves employee and will do the job the employer asks him to carry out its called business

11 May 2012 21:54:34
I no no1 wants TC to stay but I really think he should just for the time being untill solbakken has found his feet in the championship n then after just cut ties eventually with TC

11 May 2012 21:37:38
Watch this bloke on YouTube nutter lol love roll on pre season

11 May 2012 21:01:14
after seeing SSN and seeing Johnson and Zubars response to whether they had heard of the new manager, no wonder we are where we are with the arrogance on display.......a couple for a taxi if you ask me........naw ! get a mini-bus and chuck Ward,Stearman,Berra,Henry and Edwards on as well !

wolvesoutsider

Why do we have to look so unprofessional? Surely players should have been briefed before the press could get to them. Johnson is a joke and his opinion counts for nothing.

We have been unprofessional since mccarthy came ..listening to Henry telling everyone how hard he is last year when Barton was having a go was really embarassing,
The players have got away with murder so hopefully now it will stop now

The issue could have been how the Wolves is set up as a company. Top news has to be advised to the shareholders etc beforehand before the staff. I've been in the same situation at my place of work where announcements are made on the radio before staff are appraised. In this case that is why Elokobi said he'd had to look him up on the internet when he heard and the others were shocked

11 May 2012 20:00:11
This bloke deserves a chance. Even if things don't go great at the very start we need to be patient cus we can be our own worst enemy's. Just like Rodgers has done at Swansea, lets buy into this and stick with it even if at times it seems we are going backwards. We may have to take a step backwards to take 2 forwards.
Good luck SS.

Great post and I couldn't agree more with you mate. He'll certainly get my backing. Think it could of been made even easier for him if Terry *---wit wasn't part of the package though

Think he might need his guidance on players etc as he won't have targets cos he doesn't know the league. Looking forward to attacking football at last.

11 May 2012 19:31:16
To all the posters who had trouble spelling hughton, moxey etc - good luck with new guy!

11 May 2012 16:39:46
oh im loving this appointment all these players who have had it easy the last 3 years well guess what its all about to change n hopefully he will bring our kids in

ED you no if he used any youth players at copenhagen or koln {Ed003's Note - I dont sorry]

Jon Børrestad Premier League presenter, TV2 Norway

"In my eyes he plays a more attractive style of football than Mick McCarthy had Wolves playing, especially in the last couple of seasons. He prefers 4-4-2, but always gets his teams to play attractive football like he did at FC Copenhagen, where he won five titles in six years and the domestic cup. The Wolves fans can look forward to a better style of football.

He isn't your typical hard man. He has always had a good relationship with his players, they've bonded. His man-management skills are really strong but he also has a tough side to him. He's got the mix right."

Thanks for your insight Jon, I really wish him well and hope he can bring those skills to Wolves. Boy do we need them right now!

11 May 2012 18:41:13
realy exited by new manager at last something to be happy about.

I'll second that - out of darkness cometh hope - at last.

"Exited by new manager"!.Hopefully that will be the fate of Johnson, Milijas, Stearman, Elokobi etc etc etc etc

Bloody hell. Can't wait for the season to start. Mr Morgan has been brave, no doubt about that. On paper it looks like a good decision. Time will tell but it does signify to us fans he has ambition.

Agree with the appointment though SM sophuld have been brave enough to get rid of TC at the same time. As for ambition, lets see which of our few decent players we manage to keep and what the transfer kitty is. Anyway I don't want to be too negative cos this is the happiest I've felt as a Wolves fan for about 5 months.

Good luck Solbakken

Well b*gger me, I didn't see this coming. OK, I know nothing about this guy so hard to form an opinion. Morgan and Moxey really are an enigma at this "find a manager" game.

11 May 2012 14:53:01
To all the fans getting on solbakkens back already please give him a chance look at his record. mugs dont win 5 titles! he wont take any crap and i expect this time next year we will all be singing his name!

Think he will be great he wont take rubish from players or morgan and moxey.

Stale Solbakken'g gold and black barmy army! - what a mouthful! Let's all get practising over the summer. Altogether now .......

Now we have Dr Evil, will we get world domination? Mwa

11 May 2012 14:29:37
now its a new dawn weve all had our say and weve all been deeply disappointed can we put it behind us and welcome the new boss he s got the balls to take it on were a great club with great fans lets give him a chance and welcome a new era

Let" s give this guy the best possible chance of succeeding by getting behind him, and maybe just maybe he can give us our pride back, it"s time to look forward to a bigger better Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Get over yourself. How can you be disappointed if you don't know anything about the guy? Won 5 titles so can't be all bad. Should be a refreshing and new approach to the way we usually play. Bring it on!

For the first time in along time i have hope

11 May 2012 12:01:52
Looks like we could be losing Doyle
Fletcher and Jarvis .

Stales first job is to give both Roger Johnson and Terry Conner a Lift to the Station first West Brom

Out with the old and in with the new That"s what i say.

Why does it look like we may be losing the above players? Genuine question. Are there reports in the press?

I think with our new boss installed you might find no one wants to leave

11 May 2012 10:24:59
Guedioura won goal of the season for us and Forest!

He scored the 5th goal in the Carling Cup win against Millwall and opened the scoring for Forest in their 7-3 win over Leeds.

Class act imo, massivley under rated by mick n connor, with a bit of luck stale will see his potential

That just rubs salt in our wounds doesnt it..Really hope he gets a chance under solbakken cos so far he as been treated like S**T by those muppets

Hold on a bit it was mick that didnt pick him TC a bit back guedioura has a future at wolves. typical fans just assuming SMH

The fact that Guedioura and Milijas have been behind David Edwards in the pecking order has been one of the biggest frustrations of the season.

11 May 2012 09:30:17
i recommend everyone to go to you tube and take a look at our new manager. talk about passion ( phew ) i fear the wolves players are in for a very tough time next season. there will be no place to hide for any one who don't pull there weight. he is just what we need. he wont take any crap. bye bye roger

He is a passionate manager very animated on the touch line, like to play attacking football, with Zonal marking (god help us, we cant even man mark well)

He's also had a heart attack which ended his playing days early.... Wolves will proberly finnish the poor guy off then !

Svens next to come as D.O.F !

just read a fact that that stale solbakkenfahcnahjfh has a win percentage on 22% and steve kean has a win percentage of 26%! we've got ourselves a good one!
tw

Have you not seen his win percentage for his previous clubs, something like 45 and 60% respectively, An insipred choice to lead Wolves to new era. I'm off to put a ton on wolves to win championship next season!!

Stale according to the Internet looks a Combination of Major Buckley and Stan Cullis all rolled in to one ,God Help Johson

Don't get over excited about the ranting and raving. This happens in 99% of dressing rooms. Lets hope more importantly that he is tactically switched on, can develop players, has players wanting to play for him and can spot a good one in the transfer market. The passion is good but not unusual.
If he has all of the above we will be pushing next season.

A danish bloke on SSN said he plays attractive football and loves to develop players

10 May 2012 23:23:01
Stale Solbakken is our new manager then good luck to him cant be any worse than TC.
scource the mirror. ED can you confirm?

TLG {Ed013's Note - He could be announced today}

Stale, stale, stale solbakken he"s got no hair but we dont care stale solbakken

"Yes he's bald but we don't give a f**k,
He won us the league and he got us back up,
Stale stale stale stale Solbakken!"
To the tune of Brave sir robbin from Monty python!

Good luck to the bloke i say. I got a good feeling about this guy.

11 May 2012 08:10:48
Can't find stolbakken in the IKEA catalogue!

11 May 2012 07:50:25
Just seen on a Wolves forum page that O'Hara has been telling people that he's staying next season and apparently told fans at the End of Season Dinner the same. Not one I've heard personally but hey this IS a rumours site.
DB
