Well its been a great crowd today, really got behind team, sako pure quality! Roger johnson is a wolf is wolf is a wolf! doyler poor an cassidy to raw needs time, zubar did well, ohara made goal first touches great stuff, need few more players to stand a chance in this league henry foley berra doyle not good enough! Deano wer all behind you son!!
Siewolf

I thought berra played well

Zubar did well....what were you watching

11 Jan 2013 23:03:00
they put 100% in tonight.thats as good as they can play with there ability.cassidy needs to go back to tranmere to keep learning his trade.Foley is not good enough, ward had a good game, ohara should have started, blake should have started, although its quite obvious blakes off, as soon as he signs a striker to play alongside doyle.Zubar could still figure.sako was good, pesko is good enough, duambo will be good needs a few good t bone steaks down him, big but weak.johnson was awesome, berra was ok.Decent start for saunders.

Saunders will need a bit of time with these players before you will know whether this was as good as it gets.

karl herny was shocking along with foley

everyone else played okay we were a bit sloppy here and there but well see with time.

karl henry gets the ball takes way to long and then losses it and yes sure he has agression but he makes me cringe with some of his tackles he could be off especisally with a ref like tonite.

id much rather have o hara with davies if he keeps progressing and tongo when he's fit and possibly frimmy if we get him

and make johnson captain i think he's really starting to nstand out and lead the sloppy back four.

also fink foley needs to be shipped on new rb needed and lb wards good going foward dreadfull defending

well see though

Henry was man of the match

11 Jan 2013 22:24:41
Do we keep Cassidy and play him more, let him bed in. With the team or send him back out tramere where he is an important player

I would keep him, blood him and encourage him in the first team, he's young and will learn playing with better players and against better players.

Wolves Moose

Definitely send him out he will develop better at tranmere than he would with half a season for us, by the time he's found a pairing upfront the season will be over aswell as he'd probably only be a sub even though I'd rather start him

There you go Tamworth boring long ball rubbish....

The only full games I've seen recently before tonight were Watford, Blackpool and Crystal Palace. In the first 30 mins tonight Wolves players hoofed the ball up in the air in the general direction of the Blackburn half on more occasions than they did in the whole of these 3 other games. The only player who instinctively brought the ball down and tried to play it on the deck was Sako (the poor guy must feel like Dr Who trying to work out on which planet, in which century he's landed ).

Brian Clough once said "that if God intended football to be played in the clouds he'd have put grass up there". Somebody should tell Mr Saunders before we're entertained to midfield games of head tennis for the rest of the season.

If Steve Morgan thinks that reverting to Plan A is going to get the club into the Premier League (and stay there) then he must think the Emperor has new clothes.

The acid test will be who is recruited in January - a bunch of worker bees, or a couple of talented footballers? Don't hold your breath.

Negative percentage football is Saunders' philosophy. Expect to be bored for a long time.

11 Jan 2013 22:18:24
Right then. Saunders bring in a striker that will cause defenders problems and score goals. Get Doyle to man up an not fa over easy and give him some confidence. Bring in a new midfielder and lb and right back. Saki can be a match winner but he cannot defend and with ward behind him it's worrying. Here's a question to all fans: I like peszkon his quick and has a don't give up attitude but do you start him or use him as an impact sub?

Have to start him, we've no better player that can play right mid/wing. Also have to start O'Hara.

11 Jan 2013 22:14:33
Well done to DS and the lads. I will still say I'm still not convinced but its a good start. Good to see Cassidy play tonight wouldn't give him a run yet though, i don't think he's ready plus he needs to beef up a bit. Liked the way Davis played out there. Should not have been a penalty. We need to make more out of our chances. welcome back Jamie O'Hara!

O who cares if Saunders tactics are a bit of hoofball as long as we win I don't care and you wouldn't either if he got us promoted this season...

I would care cause I have seen that hoofball don't work in the prem. So what's the point going up to come back down?

11 Jan 2013 21:55:22
Thought we did well today excwpt for henry and foley reli.fink henry.lets are midfeild down to slow no.awareness yh he's aggresive but to.xlumsy could have been sent off id replace him tongo qen.fit or frimm

Did well except for Henry? who got man of the match? Him and Davis were 2 of our better players today

At least they showed some fighting spirit and Pezko and Ohara back on the starting line up should improve things although I would leave out Henry and include Davis.

Onwards and upwards

A marked improvement tonight. A win should see confidence return but happy with the draw. Would like to see Ohara and Peszko start the next match. Saki energy is a joy to watch. A great player in the making.Saunders sending out all the right signals. Good start.

Happy with the draw at this early stage of DS's reign. This is a game that we would have lost under SS. Really looking forward to new signing's coming in and just finishing off the team.

11 Jan 2013 21:44:50
Encouraging start. If he's done that much in 5 days I'm convinced he can turn our season round. New striker needed, Cassidy a bit raw yet. Up the wolves. Deanos badly army.

Oh yeh! See if the full backs can launch it further forward and hit the opposing penalty spot! Are you joking?!?! That was abysmal to watch! How can you see anything positive in it from a footballing perspective! Plenty of effort but you can get the lads from Tipton Town to do that for us for a fraction of the cost! (Sorry any Tipton Town players that may see this!)

Why don't you go and support Tipton then. So so negative. Get behind the team for a change.

Can't help being negative to be honest as a result of watching such negative football.

That was better football than we played under baldy though, we had more penetration and created more. Plus we were more defensively sound. How can you say it was negative. Because if we were under pressure in our own half we let the ball go into the channels I stead of passing it back to ikeme then hoofing it out of play. Tonight was a massive improvement I was excited to be there. Plus we would never have been promoted under baldy and we certainly would never stay up. You don't know what ds can do with more quality and time to bed in with results. You were probably one of the persons who bought not the foreign rubbish foot all we played under solcrappen. You just don't get that you have to press teams, you have to get the ball back and be prepared to play balls in the air. It wasn't like watching stoke was it it was good attacking football as well as being solid. And besides how can you say that you don't get up without playing like Swansea, look at stoke and now they are top half of the prem. fool!

11 Jan 2013 21:37:41
Why would lee want to come back here .the boy from the capital yous are from a rubbishhole

11 Jan 2013 19:42:17
Cassidy starting tonight can't wait to see what he can do in the first team! Good on ya deano!
Mike

He did nothing but looked sharp i think he'll defo be a good asset in the team.

11 Jan 2013 19:34:46
interesting dean saunders first game in charge and he starts kevin doyle and jake cassidy upfront very interesting could be good

Its not!

11 Jan 2013 18:57:24
Just seen the team sheet on Faceache. Zubar back in, that's amazing! I'm a big fan and I really think he offers us much in attack.

11 Jan 2013 10:26:40
Ikeme
new rb Johnson batth new lb
Davis Frimpong Peszko ohara Sako
Cassidy

Got give Cassidy and Griffiths a chance in next 2 games to see if they can hack it, if not get a new st in.

Griffiths doesn't deserve a chance after his pathetic tweeting. He's a trouble maker and reflects badly on our club. Get rid now.

His 'cant be bothered tweet' before he went to Hibs wasn't the best start to the season.

I believe we bought him for only £150,000 so I'm sure Moxey will at least double his money.

He is at hibs hope he stays there

11 Jan 2013 16:43:15
I posted this before seeing the twitter news. I take back what I said about giving him a chance

11 Jan 2013 09:48:58
luke young being released from qpr been around a bit now but has been a good solid defender worth a punt? any more news on any strikers anyone

11 Jan 2013 09:17:07
for those going to the match to night you should take a, banner with you, stay we want frimpong and charlie austin, at the club, come on wolves, i hope its 3 .2 to wolves, jason wolves for life

How about letting the manager manage
I think they are a little bit more qualified than us otherwise we would be the manager !

REALLY - doesn, t say much for the last manager then. We are all entitled to our opinions !

Taking a banner to his first home match telling him what to do... really ??
get a grip

How about we take a banner saying Don't read any banners!

I think you should stick to picking your nose, rather than our signings mate.

11 Jan 2013 01:36:40
Hibs fan in peace do any of use know what is happening with leigh griffiths heard use are trying to get webster from hearts he's an okay player but comes from hearts so if use sign him unlucky dw

If 'use' want him bad enough I reckon youll get him he don't really want to play for us I don't think. But I might be wrong not really much more I can say

We've got Berra from Hearts who we can't get rid of. The last thing we need is another pub footballer.

Read the article "All Change at Wolves" on website by Adam Bate! Absolutely brilliant and sums us up perfectly! And the opening quote in it of Morgan's when we appointed Solbakken has to be read to be believed! I'm afraid we are a laughing stock and now the whole footballing world knows it!! Sad, sad times for a great, great club ran by two complete morons!

Dress it up how you like re Saunders appointment the fact is this! "There is no long term plan in place!" If there were we would be handing out longer contracts to managers that Morgan and Moxey believed in! They aren't confident in their own ability to get the right man and want to be able to get rid cheaply if they have to. Prudent approach I agree but it sends out the wrong signal to the Captain of our Ship, "Get it wrong son and you are getting thrown overboard!"

And yes I'm well aware of the quality of our Academy, I worked in it for 4 seasons and appreciate what goes on there! But ask yourself this? Other than Keane, Murray, Naylor (he was slaughtered by fans), Lescott, Davies, Andrews and Hennessey! Who have we produced in the last 20 years who have played more than 100 first team games? As good an Academy as we've got we haven't had many allowed to really break into the 1st team on a regular basis for a sustained period to shout about have we? But what manager would give youth a chance when some fans want us winning every week like Barcelona do or they are screaming for their head after half a season!

Now some who embraced Saunders as the Messiah (Paul Tamworth) were saying on Monday and Tuesday that he will give youth a chance and whittle out the dead wood! Today we are being linked with Jason Scotland and Andy Webster, told what a great player Hunt is. Saunders goes on to say "some may have to go that he hasn't really had time to assess or see play in matches!" I bet you some of the youngsters that you'd all love given a chance will be cast out to ply their trade elsewhere and then come back and bite us on the rear end in coming seasons!

I pray I'm wrong but I can really only see Saunders tenure ending with the usual lot wanting his head on a plate because he hasn't done this or he's done that!

You couldn't make it up! Maybe what is left of the Carry on Team could make a comeback film...... "Carry on the Wolves" or should it be called "Carry on Morgan and Moxey!"

Other than that I'm having a good day!

Exactly what im saying all of the words spoken by Saunders tiday have made me loose confidence in him but apparently im wrong we will see but I share the same views as you

TDW

Cheers Adam, Will read your blog

How many times have you heard the expression " up and coming manager Dean Saunders" or "highly rated young manager Dean Saunders"? Never? Nope, nor me. Still can't get my head around this appointment. Good luck to the bloke, and I will be delightd if he comes good. But I fear that we have now become a mid table club in the second tier. Maybe we aspire to the play offs every other season? The appointment says a lot about the ambition of the board

Finally the people who aren't trying to pull the wool over their own eyes. Saunders will not be able to take us any further than mick did because kick and rush football don't cut it in the premier league nor do players that put a shift in!

I'll give it 5 games before this site among others erupts into panic and people saying I knew he was not good enough. Look how many of them said they had a good feeling about STS and then turned out saying why why why.

I'm trying not to make any judgments on DS yet. but yday his comments riled me because its like we have stepped back 6 years. Looking at players from the SPL, over the age of 30 and uninspiring.

I really hope DS can get us right and put us in the big time but i cannot see it myself. Name one kick and rush team that are any good and ill name you a team that are better.

It says something when on E&5 there's a poll asking wheather dean is the right man for the job and only 23.6% of people say yes.
