I for one love bonatini. I think he's a cracking striker for his age and as Paul Tamworth said what more could you want. I'm not a fan of negative fans (ironic I know).

I would love to see afobe back, ok he left, but none of us know all the reasons behind why he left. Afobe would be a great signing and could push us further into the stratosphere on points. If he scores loads will we all be complaining then. If he doesn't off to the baggie brats he goes. Big edd out, up the wolves.

1.) 30 Jan 2018 20:15:20
I think he left to play premier league football it's not personall every time a player leaves.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 20:30:13
Afobe isn't good enough. End of!

3.) 30 Jan 2018 20:41:03
old wolf. he is good enough. his movement and goals will prove you wrong my friend. sportsman bet. he gets 10 at least if he signs.

4.) 30 Jan 2018 20:41:06
We're still in the Championship he's plenty good enough for this league and he will always be sellable if he doesn't hack it in the Premier league! He's only 24.

5.) 30 Jan 2018 21:37:26
I can’t believe this is still been debated.

Pros-
1) hold up play
2) goal scoring exploits in EFL- 23 goals in 40 odd games
3) young so sellable asset in future
4) knows some of the team already-doc, batth, coady, graham and hause

Cons-
1) an attitude issue with a management that is no longer here- thelwell doesn’t count. :)

And everyone who wanted Clarke back must want Afobe back there is no comparison between the two. I didn’t want Clarke back. But Afobe should come back and get our support. WAW.

6.) 30 Jan 2018 21:58:23
Another con is his attitude issue with the fans who ultimately paid his wages. A bit part player for a poor premier team with a lack of ball control so I'm not sure about the apparent pro of good hold up play either. We are all entitled to our opinions but mine is stay on the Dorset beaches spoilt brat.

7.) 30 Jan 2018 22:09:38
Most of u on here want a world class striker . ya not going to get him . yet . but afobe can do it at this level . so why ya moaning . he can come in now score the goals we need then big jordes mendes can replace him with Cristiano.

8.) 30 Jan 2018 22:10:17
Maybe not Cristiano but ya know where i'm coming from.

9.) 30 Jan 2018 22:29:35
Anew - me and you are getting into old ground here now so I'm going to try and avoid doing that BUT I have to ask looking at where we are and how we got there can anyone on here honestly say that they think we won't still go up with Benik?! Cause for me I'm not sure how that's a debate, 12 points clear of autos and 11 goals extra (which essentially makes it 13 points clear of autos)? So if I was the board I would be thinking do we even need him enough?

So with that in mind I think its valid to say what peeps are saying; why sign someone clearly not good enough for the next level when all signs point to that being where we are heading! Also being young is not a pre-requisite for being a sellable asset in fact if stories are to be believed that is the very stumbling block as the club (rightly) don't think he's worth more than a loan!

Also let's not pretend clubs are cueing up to spend what Bournemouth did on him as that clearly just ain't true! Its just to easy to spend someone else's money these days!
For me if he comes in I'll back the lad but if it was on anything more than a loan then I would be worried about the clubs thought process, as we've had TO many previous players bought because of a lack of options rather than true quality (Clarke and Marshall spring to mind) .

Anyway again (as I've said before) I reckon it could be academic, Eddie Howe on Sky earlier saying they've had no contact with anyone regarding players in or out, seems odd him saying that if there's any truth in this as you'd think he'd want to generate interest for a better deal? I mean really on this particular one there seems to be nothing more than an E and S rumour which frankly means nothing!

10.) 30 Jan 2018 22:33:41
Afobe. Yes. Take him back in a heartbeat. Even when he supposedly had a bad attitude he scored 10 before Christmas in a poor side. He was lied to and conned - weren’t we all? - by Morgan and Moxey. Told we were going places but the only place we were going was nowhere.

Told we’d spare no expense in replacing Sako then didn’t replace him at all. Saw Dicko get crocked and we were bringing in donkeys to replace him like Sagbo. As we all know money talks in football so when you’re feeling cheated and conned and someone says hey come and play for us instead and we’ll replace your £0.5m a year salary with a £2.5m a year salary who wouldn’t say yes?

That was then this is now. Afobe would score goals and would create goals. He is a very good player. I’d take him back tomorrow 100% and anyone who thinks otherwise I would suggest is letting their heart rule their head.

OODCL.

11.) 30 Jan 2018 23:16:55
A deal has been agreed to sign Jota in the summer. By my reckoning it’s because that pushes everything into our new financial year starting in June. FFP is the reason to keep the deal out of the current financial year. I bet the contract is dependent upon promotion though. Smart.

12.) 30 Jan 2018 23:28:16
DAS - No heart and head situation here, I just don't think he's that good and actually for me peeps heart is the problem as everyone's chucking on the rose tinted specs. My opinion is based on his recent record 63 apps 10 goals that's just poor plain and simple! One goal all season against a second string Boro team in the League cup also poor plain and simple!

In fact even his record before us when playing at a champ level wasn't that good 40 apps and just 4 goals! For me he had a good 9 months and it got him that Prem move he wanted good for him, but then way back when Ebanks Blake had a good 9 months (scored more than Benik in fact) but no one seems to be shouting for his return (except maybe the local Greggs ;)

Happy to accept I'm in the minority here but this is not the opinion of one once scorned its just someone that's watched every home game he played for us and a lot of what he's done since and I just think he's bang average simple as that! Average first touch at best and no composure, I've said it before and I'll say it again. ask the Bournemouth fans what they think?! Most would cover his taxi to the Mol!

13.) 30 Jan 2018 23:31:43
NB - Above post was supposed to say; 'can anyone on here honestly say that they think we won't still go up withOUT Benik'
Sorry for any confusion ;)

14.) 30 Jan 2018 23:33:20
Eddie - We could sign anyone of about 10-15 players that would score 10 goals between now and the end of the season in THIS squad! Hell I think Leon Clarke could do it and that's saying something!

15.) 31 Jan 2018 02:43:45
BullysBoy I hear your side of the coin and you raise some fair points. However as we all know football is a funny old game. We may be 11 points clear of second. but so were Newcastle United when Man Utd caught them 20 odd years ago. So until thenlets not get too complacent with our views we are not home and dry just yet. The factors that need to be taken into consideration are things such as what if Jota got a 3 game ban for straight red and Cav and Bonantini got injured. We need strengths in numbers. When you look at Afobes record at Bmouth it don't look good. but firstly to point out over 30 of them are as a sub. Secondly that's the prem and we are still in the championship where let's face it he killed it up front for us banging goals in for fun in an average Wolves team. We only need him on a short term loan to add strength in numbers in case of an injury. Common sense would surely tell you that it makes sense. People saying we could do better? Who's better than him at this level and proven to score goals in the league because the only other name that springs to mind is Dwight Gayle. or Glen Murray. I just think people need to look at the bigger picture in that you never know what could happen to players from one day to the next that's why you need at least 2 different players in each position for cover in the even of injuries and suspensions. Obviously this is just my opinion but I think we'd be silly to miss out on a player on a short term loan if he was offered to us or someone of similar proven quality at this level for that matter.

16.) 31 Jan 2018 11:05:11
I agree with all your points bullyboy.
But for that loan/ 10m I think it is worth the punt.
If Leo, Cav or Jota got injured we’d Start to look over our shoulder. 25 points are needed to guarantee automatic which everyone expects and hopes for. 18 draws isn’t enough. And I expect the odd loss along the way. Would you trust Mir, Bright and Costa on current form to score 10 between them-I don’t but I like surprises :-)
There’s no pride to swallow on the matter this is business and benik would be an asset in the run in. WAW.

17.) 31 Jan 2018 18:18:52
Anew- as always fella that's fair enough we don't all have to agree. Looking increasingly unlikely at this stage but I guess we'll know in five hours. Only thing I would say anew is that peeps are talking like 'just spend the money and its guaranteed' but we both know that just ain't true! Anyone remember when Newc signed Asprilla, there fans said the same thing! Heres a scenario we pay £10m+ for Benik, he comes in and struggles to score and rocks the boat and we don't go up. What then cause if we were on the edges of FFP before we would have jumped straight over it with an extra £10m?! that's what peeps don't seem to realise Fosun I'm sure will be great for this club but they will always be what they will be namely and investment group! They won't risk their investment unless there certain and just not sure there are ANY certainties in the Jan transfer market so then it becomes about managing risk. I think we will see that first hand come the end of this window but then I fully admit I know nothing regarding the clubs transfer movements. As I keep saying time will tell COYW ;)

18.) 31 Jan 2018 18:21:30
WeAre- I actually agree with the bulk of your point which is why I'm a bit gutted to see Grabban go to Villa! Think he would have been a perfect answer to our striking issue but there we are. Ask any Villa fan and they will tell you us Wolves fans REALLY can't complain about our transfer policy! ;)

01 Sep 2017 09:59:37
So I'm as baffled as you all by this. But I will say it sounds like psv lead us down the garden path with that jurgen lad.

Anyhow, we still have 6 quality attacking players and as said by others it didn't do Liverpool any harm. Get behind the players boys!

Up the wolves.

eddielongshot

1.) 01 Sep 2017 10:16:32
Well said Eddie last year woods 27 goal top scorer Abraham 23 goals top 2 goal scorers did they go up? Answer is No so keep the faith we got plenty of firepower till jab. Coyw.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 10:22:44
I'm sure we will all 'get behind the players'. But to let Dicko go without getting someone better in, nevermind the fact we didn't get anyone, can't be good. I know Dicko wasn't great but he is still better than the invisible man.

Maybe we needed to sell Dicko to raise money for a new striker and FFP was a consideration after all despite what some have said.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 10:37:23
Dwight Gayle. Glenn Murray? They both got promoted.

4.) 01 Sep 2017 10:55:56
Well said eddielongshot. Let's play the Liverpool way. Costa is back soon and he just walked a ball into the Cardiff net last season.

5.) 01 Sep 2017 11:42:54
Think we will be okay still playing well with the system we play, at least we have a midfielder in on loan, would of been nice to have a good striker but it wasnt to be when they pulled the plug for the Dutch player and 15 million for Afobe cannot say we didn't try, and don't forget Helda costa will be back soon.
We are going in another direction for the better now with a lot better class of players being brought in when we do get them.

6.) 01 Sep 2017 11:38:41
Agent and player wanted back handers that's why we did not sign Locadia. We did not need someone like that, we still have enough quality at Wolves to get promotion, we all need to get behind the manager and the team.

7.) 01 Sep 2017 12:22:12
The only prolific goal scorer the last few years has been Afobe we have tried with so many others Dicko Mason Bod Siggy LeFondre Doyle Griffiths Clarke McAlinden Cassidy Holt probably others I can't remember we don't get it right so I am not worried about our strength but I am worried Nuno hasn't assembled the team he wanted and expected which means he might be gone by the end of the season and we have to start again.

8.) 01 Sep 2017 12:52:38
Nope - agent and player didn't want back handers - that is totally inaccurate.

Medical was underway and almost complete when it was pulled - personal terms agreed in advance of the medical and a prelim contract was agreed at £36k per week.

PSV pulled the plug due to a lack of replacement. end of.

9.) 01 Sep 2017 12:59:45
And of course, Robert Taylor.

10.) 01 Sep 2017 13:43:50
That is right Telford it was Psv that pulled out I think they pulled the plug on 2or3 of there other players that were due for transfers yesterday.

11.) 01 Sep 2017 14:02:36
Check Tim Nash, agent wanted a payment and so did the player.

12.) 01 Sep 2017 17:32:44
Sorry but Dicko is just not that good to lose any sleep over. I'm sure some of the wingers can play in the middle.

31 Aug 2017 21:47:03
Adam forshaw from Boro on loan filtering through now.

Keep the faith lads.

eddielongshot

{Ed047's Note - Talks are happening but it could be too late as talks didn't start til very late in the window & he needs a medical which can take some time).

31 Aug 2017 21:34:46
Sam winnall on loan and Afobe bid of 18 million being offered. latest I'm hearing gents.

Sam winnall is a decent target man. Would have kept dicko myself but anyway i'll be bk.

eddielongshot

1.) 31 Aug 2017 21:51:00
He's not worth £18m.

{Ed047's Note - #desperate if that happens buddy}.

31 Aug 2017 21:07:44
Right you lot. Take a big breath. Here goes.

We will sign another striker before this window shuts, fosun have an ace up their sleeve in uncle Jorge.

Do not forget he has the power to influence a lot of clubs and a lot of people.

I'm Hoping to gain a reputation or fall on my sword with this but my gut instinct says Rhodes and Afobe will join. Bournemouth need extra funds for demari grey to go through.

Keep the faith

Big edd out.

eddielongshot

1.) 31 Aug 2017 21:13:18
medicals are a problem now getting the players here in time.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 21:14:44
We could have signed them weeks ago so if that is deadline day business it is pretty poor but I do think we shouldn't give up yet it might be a player we haven't heard of.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 21:16:01
Well done big Edd . nice to see a positive post like.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 21:20:53
Matt medicals can be carried out locally if need be ask 'Arry!
Guys don't give up just yet
The PSV deal was pulled the director after the medical. He pulled 2 others at same time so its thought he is playing for more money.

5.) 31 Aug 2017 21:52:04
Wot a pxxxk.

Hi gents. Wanted any feedback I could get please. I'm not a season ticket holder therefore won't be able to get away tickets for love nor money.
But did wonder if there's any wolves sites to look out for access to last minute away tickets. ie if someone had bought them but couldn't go for some reason.

Any help much appreciated

Edd.

I’m in the same boat. Twitter is your best bet my friend.

21 Jan 2018 11:33:54
I totally agree with wolvescoast. Let them have a well needed break. The type of football we play is very physically intense, a week in the sun will invigorate them. Ok some of the foreign lads are tiring a bit but Jesus what were some of you expecting? They have settled brilliantly and taken wolves into their hearts and play with passion.
And if I hear any more moaning about nuno I'm going to scream! I was a fan of Kenny jackett and Paul Lambert (Ok they were functional and a bit predictable) but this guy we have now in nuno Santo is humble, passionate, technically a class coach of players, And seems like all the players really love and respect him like he respects us fans. Stop moaning and sing their names out. The rest will follow I'm sure. As we say in my london irish household. If you
haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything. Come on me babbies!

1.) 21 Jan 2018 17:27:27
Totally agree Eddie! The squad and backroom team deserve a well earned break. recharge the batteries boys. Stronger as a pack remember!

14 Oct 2017 12:32:18
Just read about Michael Mcindoes book. Looks about as interesting as a medium sized brown envelope. Onto more pressing issues. I can't make the game as I'm out with friends in london. I shall be of course shouting at the telly somewhere. I'm going for 3-0. I don't care what the moaners say. I'm a happy wolves fan. Come on me babbies.

Brilliant win against the vile! Well done Nuno and the boys 😉⚽️👍.

2.) 14 Oct 2017 19:27:35
Close enough.

Well done the Wolves!

3.) 14 Oct 2017 20:04:48
They tried the dirty they tried the cheat the ref even seemed against us ato times but the wolves would not be stopped and you could see the envy and inevitability on bruces face. Wolves are going up. How proud do I feel to be a wolverhampton wanderers fan tonight. Ecstatic.

{Ed025's Note - and well you should be..

4.) 14 Oct 2017 20:13:10
Wow stunning performance. neves and jota are world class. as a team we starting to gel. costa not quite there yet. but will be shortly. every player looks to have time to play. sign of a good team. roll on preston. forever wolves.

28 Sep 2017 13:09:27
Coolerboy that joke was not lost on me 😂😂😂😂😂.

I'm putting money on bodvarrson, edwards to score against us.

Bloody Leon Clarke, when did he get pace? He used to iron his shirt in a wok at wolves. Now look at him thin as a bloody racing snake.

eddielongshot

1.) 28 Sep 2017 13:49:52
Talking of bodvarson I wonder if reading fc fans do the icelandic thunder clap awesome last season away at birmingham doing that. oh bods goal 1 of the few he scored 4us was well taken. also ex wolves players andrew surman scored a beaut the other week.

2.) 28 Sep 2017 19:07:06
Would love too see us play against a team of recent ex-players and loanees. Bet we get thrashed!

Lonergan
Iorfa Stearman Golborne
Henry McDonald Edwards Saville
Bod Dicko Clarke

Not to mention Surman, Winnall, Wallace, Evans, Jacobs, Rowe, Byrne, McAlinden, Ismael, Guediara
And our premier players Sako, Afobe, Hennessey, Van La Parra, Vokes (and Griffiths)

28 Sep 2017 08:39:02
Oh my good god. We lose to a decent sheff utd side with ten men and still put in a shift. Will you moaners ever bloody quit? This is why molineux becomes nervous sometimes and the players react to it.

You need to support the best manager and best team we have had in a long time. The championship is not a sprint it's a marathon. I get so upset with supporters who don't support. We need to get behind nuno. and not with a knife in our hands.

eddielongshot

1.) 28 Sep 2017 09:06:40
Good post Eddie.

2.) 28 Sep 2017 09:08:19
I agree eddielongshot I feel exactly the same talking to lads at work in b'ham bluenoses and villa fans they say you always get football fans who are moaners I say you should be a wolves fan a lot are never happy and only can talk negative doom and gloom. would love a moaner to get my bovril down his neck.

3.) 28 Sep 2017 09:56:16
I thought it would be a tough game with 11 vs 11, and a draw would have been a good result. With 10 men for so long in the game it was always going to be a struggle to get anything.

On another point, I’m finding it quite amusing how so many ex-players score against us. I don’t know if it’s the same for every team. It would be interesting to find the stats to see if we have it happen more often than other teams. At this rate I’d even expect Sagbo and Holt to bag some goals against us if they were in the Championship.

4.) 28 Sep 2017 10:36:58
Good comment clivewolves, if you would of put bets on wolves players coming back to haunt us with the goals they score unbelievable, anyway we lost to a good Sheff. Utd. side mainly due to playing with 10 men for 70 mins., we had a chance with the penalty and missed, it happens it was not going to be our night.
let's get behind team saturdsy against Burton and see if we can take all 3 points, we are due for a good game of football as to be honest we have not been playing well lately, but we have been taking the points.

5.) 28 Sep 2017 12:36:16
I made what I consider a great joke about last night, sending off Coady was a mistake as Leon clarke going through one on one is NOT a goalscoring opportunity.10 mins later wish I had kept my mouth shut.

6.) 28 Sep 2017 17:56:32
I know what u mean. the joke in our house is. If a game is nil nil. I just say its got nil nil written all over it. then what happens someone scores . no matter what team we got we ain't going to win every game or av all the luck. we just got to everage it out. we will be top soon. just a matter of time.

7.) 30 Sep 2017 05:53:07
Spot on Eddie my thoughts exactly.

I'm strictly talking about Danny bath Tim. We do need warriors for centre backs. Warriors are the leaders, the spine of a fighting team. Especially in the championship. I totally agree that our centre backs should pass and mark more accurately. But look at great centre backs ie vidic, Terry, etc they are mentally tougher than the rest. They want to win so bad they will outplay any forwards put in front of them. That's what I want.
