Someone I know connected with Moneyshop tells me that the purchase of Wolves by them for approx. £22m will be announced at the end of the season.
Apparently it's been on the cards for over a year and the preparatory work is all done.
Moxey is staying but Jackett may not.

If true, is there a clause to say a certain amount must be invested in team?

2.) 19 Apr 2016 11:29:11
No idea I'm not that well in the know.

3.) 19 Apr 2016 11:38:41
I have heard though that Moxey will be chairman and CEO so he's going to be busy.

4.) 19 Apr 2016 12:06:59
Seems Morgan knows the Money Shop owner very well. Morgan isn't going to sell to just anyone, as he wants to leave a "legacy". Can't wait for the naming of Steve Morgan Academy.

Trouble is, will "fan power" scupper the deal? Moaning Wolves fans didn't want Steve Bruce in 2012. Money Shop is hardly the ideal new owner, given that they are pay-day lenders. Time will tell Moxey is actively brown-nosing Money Shop at every opportunity, so it sounds true.

5.) 19 Apr 2016 12:48:40
I don't believe this for one minute. Why sponsor the club then buy it?

6.) 19 Apr 2016 12:51:45
John Grayken, the owner of Lone Star Funds (which The Money Shop is a subsidiary of) , is a partner with Ellis Short, who owns Sunderland. So there perhaps is some connection for himself to delve into owning a football club.

Good question. Maybe the previous sponsor's deal was running out and Wolves needed a new sponsor? So, Money Shop upgrade to full sponsorship because no other company is keen. This may be entirely separate to the takeover.

8.) 19 Apr 2016 19:15:59
My question is what would money shop benefit from by owning the club? Sponsorship I get. They'll never be in it for ww's benefit will they.

9.) 20 Apr 2016 14:37:41
If you really think they would seriously cancel the Money Shop deal just because of a few fan's objecting in a letter, you must be deluded - why even discuss it? They have been sponsors of ours already for many years and their name will be on the Wolves shirt for at least the next 3 years so get used to it. Not sure why people are making such a fuss over a sponsor that has behaved impeccably since they have been associated with us. I've got to admit, tho, that I love the T-Shirt idea of crossing out the 'n' in The Money Shop and replacing it with an 'x' for The Moxey Shop! Class.

{Ed001's Note - clubs have dumped pay day lenders in the past due to fan pressure. The fans are a vital part of the club, just ask Liverpool why they changed the ticket prices.....}

10.) 21 Apr 2016 12:51:40
Nothing is going to change with The Money Shop sponsoring Wolves.

11.) 21 Apr 2016 11:33:20
Newcastle are still sponsored by Wonga and they seem to have got over it. One question I would ask all Wolves fans is if Money Shop were to takeover and invested a large amount would it then bother you where the money has come from? Think you would soon change your view. Also very hypocritical anyway when they have sponsored us for so long!

12.) 21 Apr 2016 16:54:06
Newcastle's image isn't harmed by Wonga because Newcastle is so big, it's a proper regional-capital city with obvious wealth as well as poor - totally mixed. Plus, they've almost consistently been in Prem, Shearer is household celeb, everyone's mind is already made up what Newcastle FC are about. It is too strong and already defined in the Nations mind, Wonga's brand is too weak to over-shadow or distort it. Whatever Newcastle is, Wonga is just a fly on it.

Most of the Nation though don't have a defined view of Wolverhampton City, it's a blank space. And we're much smaller / provincial, plus WWFC hasn't had a constant presence in Prem so we're not seen as anything in particular yet in the Nations minds. Moneyshop will inform rest of Country what Wolverhampton and WWFC is about. It's too strong a brand, it will over-shadow Wolves and give us a very negative image, like Wonga did Blackpool.

I hope it will only be while WWFC are in Championship and will be dropped if we get to Prem, as think Blackpool FC would have got away with Wonga if hadn't been seen by whole Nation with them in Prem. I have no problem with Lone-Star, just Moneyshop brand is too urban and negative.

VLP to Huddersfield for £1m next week, he's agreed terms and bid accepted.

1.) 24 Jan 2016 21:22:48
I will believe it if it happenes cznt see us letting any more go this window.

2.) 24 Jan 2016 22:20:24
Not after his recent performances!

3.) 24 Jan 2016 22:23:43
Could be something in this. Huddersfield have made a bid and VLP was a bit evasive when interviewed after the game. Hope not, him and Zyro are the only major threat we have at present. I'm beginning to lose confidence that Siggy is really going to get over this back problem.

4.) 24 Jan 2016 23:39:34
, sell Cody back to them for £2.5m.

5.) 25 Jan 2016 07:17:58
Surely his sights are higher than Huddersfield.

6.) 25 Jan 2016 17:40:08
Rajiv is in demand now at WOlves, being about the only fit forward we have on our books. Don't think we'll want to sell him at any price Huddersfield could afford.

Wolves have watched Kelvin Etuhu of Bury 3 times and are very near to putting in a bid for him.

Universe

1.) 20 Jan 2016 20:16:36
Promising he sounds cheap.

2.) 20 Jan 2016 20:37:35
Wouldn't feel especially proud to see him in a Wolves shirt!

3.) 20 Jan 2016 21:39:05
But it's not about cheap it's about not overpaying so if we have to pay 2 quid and Moxey thinks he should be able to pay only one we don't sign him.

4.) 20 Jan 2016 23:04:56
Cant see it become fact but we linked to Charlie Adam on loan Brighton also intrested.

5.) 21 Jan 2016 16:43:12
Etuhu has been at the training ground today, not sure what for.

Why no stock exchange announcement? If it is actually sealed there would have to be. Premature from BBC as it may not be sealed yet.

Universe

{Ed001's Note - why would there need to be a stock exchange announcement?}

I hear from my contact nothing will be forthcoming this week, next week at the earliest and it definitely won't be a Chinese takeover.

I have heard that the Moxey consortium are a little behind the Chinese one but it's still 50/ 50 which one it will be.
Moxey was well in front a month ago but one of his main investors pulled out.
No announcement till next week at the earliest.

My little insider tells me that Morgan has categorically told Jackett that not a penny will be spent unless it's generated by player sales.
Jackett wanted Etuhu and has been told to forget it unless he sells first, Jackett apparently isn't happy at all.
