Seen we've bee linked with several strikers for the loan window; Nick Blackman, Leonardo Ulloa, Jan Kermogrant, Joe Mason and Frazier Campbell. What a signing Ulloa would be!

Golden Wolfie

1.) 03 Sep 2015 07:59:28
Ulloa would be brilliant but unless players been released it going come down to wages but if wolves really want get a quality striker in they going have bite bullet and spend good money but who ever comes in needs get stuck in from the off we missing potentially 20 goals a season from Dicko so that needs addressing or we going nowhere just hope kj not forced into square pegs in round holes come on Morgan splash the cash and back kj so can get right replacement - would be funny if made cheeky enquires into w*a for "Berra want away " on loan not ever going happen but would be funny if he said wanted join

2.) 03 Sep 2015 09:04:27
Morgan spend money? That's funny. This year we have spent after sales £500k and in the last 5 years we have made a profit, after buys and sales, of £5 mil. Morgan has absolutely no intention of putting his hand in his pocket.

3.) 03 Sep 2015 09:53:46
Made a profit? We paid of O hara margretta johnson contracts which would cost in the region of 3-5 million we have lost a lot of money since going to league one the parachute payments have stopped I think from coming up we made a loss of 8 million .

4.) 03 Sep 2015 10:01:59
Jtwolf 100% correct!! Who we sellin January?? Iorfa? Afobe? I wouldn't rule either out!!

5.) 03 Sep 2015 11:51:56
3 seasons in the Prem? 4seasons of parachute payments? Sales of Jarvis and Fletcher? getting rid of the high earners? 20k plus gates? We haven't seen anywhere near that money!! Morgan is getting richer and were turnin into a breeding ground for the bigger clubs with our academy! As I said before were going to be the Crewe Alexandra of the championship!! No Ambition at all!!

6.) 03 Sep 2015 15:00:21
Go to "wolves transfer league" to see how much money we have spent on players under Morgan. It amounts to less than £0, not sure its what sir jack had in mind when he took over.

7.) 04 Sep 2015 14:44:12
Jtwolf.

I've just check on the website you suggested and clocked up all the money in and out in transfers since the start of the 07/08 season when Morgan took over.

Money paid = £61,870,000
Money in = £41,125,800

We have spent £20 million more than we have brought in transfers.

8.) 04 Sep 2015 20:06:42
Sorry meant to say last 5 years try " championship teams last 5 years" transfer league. Plus all the money that has come in from the prem. The point is, real ambition gets you callum Wilson ahead of Bournemouth and that's just 1 player who we have missed out on, to another club. Its simple, you need to speculate to accumulate. If our ambition is to stay in the championship using our youth then say so. If you think you can do that, get to and stay in the prem, forget it.

9.) 04 Sep 2015 20:45:08
Clivewolves, add on 3 seasons Prem money and Parachute payments, then you'll see Morgan has spent nothing!! Morgan is business man and not a Wolves fan like Sir Jack!! Remember he got the club for a tenner!!

10.) 05 Sep 2015 14:00:36
During that time the wage bill would have increased accordingly. We have had to pay off several of the big earners to get them out of the club. That wouldn't have been cheap. The Stan Cullis stand has been rebuilt. The academy has had millions pumped into it.

I think the only way to solve this kind issue is if football clubs were forced to reveal their finances to the public. Let's be honest, we are all just guessing what the finances are like. Unless the we ask Companies House?

11.) 06 Sep 2015 17:56:11
Well clivewolves you seam to be happy in wolves becoming a breeding club for other teams to take our star young players because if we get promotion with this squad there's no way we will keep K.J. it would be some achievement if K.J. got us promoted.
We still have chance if at least 3 quality loan players are signed but can't see Morgan doing that but ay you never now in football

12.) 07 Sep 2015 12:25:16
If Jackett did get us promotion this year it would be a great achievement.

Why do you think he would then leave us? He wants to manage in the Premier League and his best chance would be with Wolves if we a promoted. It isn't as if Premier League clubs have a history of hiring newly promoted managers and it would be highly unlikely Jackett would resign.

I'm not happy about selling our best young players, but that is the way it is 9 times out of 10. All clubs have had to sell players they haven't wanted to, whether it be Southampton selling Lallana to Liverpool or Man Utd selling Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

13.) 09 Sep 2015 09:23:06
Can Someone please tell me if we have sold our *BEST* youngsters. I believe we still have Iorfa, Hause,Batth, Price, Evans, Saville Afobe, Dicko, Bright. now you tell me what youngsters have left cause I can't think of anyone.

I think in our squad we would need a winger/striker and I'm very happy with our squad. Maybe an experienced defender that may not play but teach the young lads to improve

14.) 09 Sep 2015 17:07:57
Josh exactly what I was thinking. Everyone moans that we have been buying for the future and not for the first team but they can't see that we have already got the supply chain working. Iorfa training with the full England squad. Bright has got his first senior goal. This has got every chance of becoming a quality young side if they get their chance. Much better than paying over the odds for average journeymen like Butterfield at Derby or Andre Gray.

15 Jul 2015 17:33:58
Two Norwich players also linked with us. Strong rumours online say we're interested in Gary O'Neil. He's out of favour at Carrow Road and would be allowed leave for around £250,000. Wolves are also pursuing if Lewis Grabban is available on loan. Grabban has had great success in the Championship with both Bournemouth and Norwich. However Cameron Jerome is ahead of him in the pecking order, with Norwich eager to offload a few of their strikers. Norwich are also likely to bring in a marquee forward this window further fueling a possible loan move for Grabban.

Golden Wolfie

1.) 16 Jul 2015 07:45:35
Do we need O'Neil? I've always seen him as an attacking central midfielder. We already have Edwards and the new lad Wallace.

2.) 16 Jul 2015 09:48:58
No to GO'N for me and Grabban might be a decent signing, could get us between 10-15 goals a season in championship, with Dicko and Afobe aiming for 20 and 25. As for the diamond formation, I think it's quite interesting as personally I think we have the players capable of utilising this formation. With Iorfa and Golborne attacking full backs, coady holding Mcdonald + price CM (Evans would also suit this formation as he can attack and defend) Wallace/Edwards/Jacobs behind Afobe + Dicko. Could work very well for us IMO.

3.) 16 Jul 2015 11:46:09
This has to be the most boring transfer window ever! I know we don't really ever do much buisness but there's nothing exciting so far. Not saying I wants us to do a liverpool and sign 20 odd players a season but would be good to see more going on. Still need a left winger,Goalkeeper, two strikers and another centre half to cover for injuries.

4.) 16 Jul 2015 12:21:49
We don't need a winger now scenes Jacob is getting the chance and also Graham! We only need 1 striker as we have enobakhare and Wilson who could step up easily

5.) 16 Jul 2015 12:48:27
All of a sudden Jacobs is good enough? We only need 1 striker? And these other lads are good enough to step up? Your deluded mate! We need some proven quality bringing in! We will achieve nothin else!

6.) 16 Jul 2015 13:41:00
Got to agree Jacobs isn't good enough he barely got a look in last season so can't see him being the answer now, with do have wallace and graham I guess but still think we need someone a bit more experienced. We 100% need more then one striker to come in. Just think worst case Dicko or Afobe get a bad knock we will have only the kids on the bench. We need someone like Le Fondre and someone younger with experience of first team football.

7.) 16 Jul 2015 14:41:21
I ain't being funny but was at training ground today and other than ikeme&batth who start was working on the 4231
Flatt was in goal iorfa stears hause Scotty back 4
Coady kmac holding Jacobs and Rowe wide with Afobe behind dicko slightly and from what I heard that will be the team that starts away at burton and the team that looks most likely to start against Blackburn on opening day unless VLP comes in for Rowe and then Jacobs goes Left and VLP right who scored 2 yesterday if does seem as tho the players that are here are what he wants and something else that he's been working on with Jacobs and Rowe is staying wide more because Jacobs likes to come in side a lot and he's been working on him staying wide which is why I don't think he did last season plus last season Rajiv Henry and sako all did well when they played so was hard for him and Wallace will be used as a number 10 and Graham will most likely get loaned out

8.) 16 Jul 2015 14:52:11
When Michael Jacobs went on loan to Blackpool he played wide Left and played very well Blackpool fans were tweeting saying I don't know how hasn't played for wolves this season constiently and that's why Kj recalled him he did well and proved he could do it at this level and Kj recalled him to get him in the group and again playing with them again for when sako left like I say I think his loan spell at Blackpool has give him this oppetunity okay he scored 1 goal and I think got 2 assists in 6 games was it that's more than what he did for wolves in 12 games he went there to show Kj he could do it and had done it this is why he's been given another chance well it is for me anyway

9.) 16 Jul 2015 15:26:28

10.) 16 Jul 2015 15:57:47
There was a time on this site when everyone was on your back Paul, now I don't think you've posted anything I disagree with. If we don't sign experience and/or known quality players then we won't go up, it's that simple.

11.) 16 Jul 2015 16:00:48
Have to agree not much activity going on again ,we need at least 3 or4 players with quality if we mean business, and can't see it happening with Mr tight guy's moxey/Morgan can you .
We might build a new stand instead or something similar, not long to go to see what k.j. is made of pressures on this year for him

15 Jul 2015 17:27:25
Wolves are interested in a loan move for Sunderland winger Will Buckley. Buckley was impressive in the championship for Brighton and started well with Sunderland. However, he's not in Dick Advocatt's plans and the soon-to-be confirmed signing of Jeremain Lens means Buckley will be allowed out on loan.

Golden Wolfie

1.) 16 Jul 2015 12:53:42
Buckley yes please just needs to be injury free.

26 Jun 2015 17:42:34
Fulham have place a £1m bid for Kevin McDonald. Honestly not a bad offer. I personally would like to see perhaps somebody like Matt Smith or Patrick Roberts lumped in as well.

Fulham did however sign Tom Cairney from Blackburn today too. Does this mean the deal is off?

Golden Wolfie

1.) 26 Jun 2015 19:09:56
Well it's a profit for us but can we replace him at that price? Probably not so they can pay 2m or go away.

2.) 26 Jun 2015 19:19:06
this won't happen wolves want atleast 3m honest truth and dicko has just signed a new contract and number 9 shirt I expect kmac and stearman next

The defeat to Bolton this weekend is a big one. To lose to a lackluster, struggling team in a pretty dominant manner is a big worry. It's been an extremely poor start to the campaign; 6 amateur displays and a few fortunate cup performances. Wholesale changes are required; not necessarily hitting the panic button. We need a proven Championship striker. We need an experienced center-back. We need to choose a goalkeeper and give him a resounding vote of confidence; chopping and changing is never going to be productive.

It pains me to say it, but Kenny's position is beginning to look shaky. We need to consider; can we currently achieve promotion? The answer is undeniably no. So what do we need to change. One infuriating thing about Jackett is his hesitance to use any substitutes. He's also begun to make bizarre omissions, for instance McDonald from the entire squad yesterday. Dicko too was bizarrely playing second fiddle to Afobe, often coming off early. We must ensure that our decisions of change are more constructed. But if Jackett is not the man to get us up, there are candidates out there - Big Sam has been mentioned. Would bring stability and character but also perceived turgid football (though it can't be worse that the current performances). Yet he has a proven track record and one of English football's finest CV's ( not to mention the inevitable signing of now free agent Kevin Nolan! )I believe we give Kenny 9 more games - that culminating in an away trip to Birmingham we'll get a final, clear picture. In that spell we play Middlesbrough, Derby and Brighton - teams we must compete with. If come October we're still off the pace, we'll know it's not a blip - like December last year, which narrowly cost us promotion. If we are back in the hunt come October, I'll gladly tuck into some humble pie.

Golden Wolfie

1.) 14 Sep 2015 07:41:33
There is another candidate who has taken a team to the Premier League and kept them up playing decent football. I don't like the man but his record at Leicester speaks for itself. Not a yes man though so the board would never appoint him anyway. Really hope KJ turns it around and the next 3 games will show us a lot.

{Ed001's Note - I would think Pearson's attitude of being a complete bell with a racist son would be more of a problem than his not being a yes man. Obviously some people think a thug who condones racism is ok so long as he wins games.}

2.) 15 Sep 2015 21:23:42
Don't know if I'd call Nigel Pearson Premier League-quality. He did have that miraculous escape with Leicester (and yes I know he was on the old enemy's coaching staff too) but by that account, Paolo Di Canio is also a Premier League-quality boss!

30 Aug 2015 01:00:25
Must admit I'm quite happy with what's happened over the last 24 hours. I personally hated Stearman while in the Premier League. Him, Berra, Johnson and Ward all together in defense? It still keeps me awake at night! However, the past 2 years he's improved ten fold. He's finally looked like a leader. His passion for the club also could never be called into question. Is he the best center back we have? No. Is his influence a very positive one? Definitely. Is Batth ready to step up and replace him (when fit of course)? Maybe. Hause or Ebanks-Landell certainly aren't, they need experience beside them.

As for VLP, I'm a little gutted to be honest. His debut versus Norwich was breathtaking. I just don't understand why he hasn't shone since. The potential is there and I personally wish him well at Leeds. But young Ojo has already eclipsed him in just a handful of appearances. That tells its own tale. Henry and Edwards meanwhile are indispensable in midfield right now.

A hard fought win meanwhile will at least get out chins off our chests. Great to see ALF nab his first goal. But we need now to make some more big decisions before 6 P.M Tuesday. We need either a new goalkeeper or to offer Ikeme a vote of utter confidence - it is however alarming to see his dip in performances since Martinez arrived. We also need a winger and a striker. Keeping Afobe, now Dicko is injured, is also essential. In our current situation, it'd be suicidal to take the £15m.

Golden Wolfie

1.) 31 Aug 2015 07:53:48
Yes I think all that too. Taking 2m for Stearman is good business 2years ago we could only give him away and I presume he became a better player after Johnson was out of the way. I don't believe anyone has offered that kind of money for Afobe but if they have we have to take it because its a lot for a Championship player and would be easy to spend I and get in 2or3 good players.

23 Aug 2015 00:50:55
Pathetic. To put it lightly, the meager performance today was horrific. Tactically inept and disfunctional. Not a single shot on target and completely and utterly dominated by an average Cardiff, let alone Championship, team. Just bitterly disappointing and an indicative end to a difficult week.

I was baffled by Kenny's decision to leave Dicko out of the starting XI. Dicko or Afobe on their own just simply doesn't work. They need to play alongside each other. One star performer in Edwards, in the sense that he showed his typical resilience and tenacity. Also, why wait for us to go 2-0 down before changing; was he waiting to concede? Today was a travesty and no two ways about it - a previously pointless cup game against Barnet suddenly has major onus. 3 consecutive defeats and Kenny will have some serious questions to answer.

However, there was one positive not on the pitch but in the stands; Steve Morgan attended the game (and was presumably horrified). Kenny rotated the team (which with a busy schedule is understandable). But it's very clear that the back-up brigade are simply not up to the task. In order to compete, we need greater depth. For a return of £140m, spend £20m and bring in some serious quality. Look at miserly Burnley; £8m on Andre Gray. They are not play-off contenders no doubt. But the message is clear despite earlier beliefs; this squad is far from ready and as shown at Selhurst Park, is still hurting from the loss of Sako. Yet to see a convincing 90 minute display so far. It's now over to you Kenny.

Golden Wolfie

1.) 23 Aug 2015 09:26:46
Agree completely. KJ needed to make just one change and that was to put Ikeme back in. Instead he makes four really strange changes which affected the whole balance and confidence of the team. QPR was a defeat we should have avoided and Cardiff was just embarrassing. Dicko is not going to stay at a club where he is watching from the bench and James Henry likewise. KJ needs a good look at himself for yesterday's defeat. Barnet is looking like a potential banana skin!

On another note - congratulations to Sako for scoring on his debut.

17 Aug 2015 00:10:28
Excellent display against Hull today. A lot to consider going into the next stage of a very busy week ahead.
Positives:
1. We created an awful lot of opportunities against one of the league's most experienced defences.
2. McDonald had his best game in a Wolves jersey. Actually played defensively where his work rate is most effective.
3. Coady was also terrific in midfield.
4. Martinez had an excellent day; specifically a fine stop from Akpom.
5. We dominated the first half and a fair chunk of the second.

To Consider:
1. Hause showed a lack of experience in the unnecessary push.
2. Our finishing was, to say the least, frustrating. Should've won by 3 or 4.
3. Afobe and Dicko were strangely ineffective.
4. The last 15 minutes we were exhausted.
5. Kenny only made 2 subs, bring ALF on in the 90th minute. WHY IN GOD'S NAME WAIT SO LONG? I know we were performing really well as a unit. But with 15 minutes most of the legs were gone. VLP must also get more game time.

Overall pleased; could prove a crucial point in the outcome of the season. Just so easily could've been 3.

Golden Wolfie

1.) 17 Aug 2015 09:15:08
Thanks. Didn't see the game - need to catch up. I don't know why it is Kenny can make "brave" football decisions like dropping Ikeme but not substituting Dicko. RVLP must feel unlucky not to get more game time. He is a good player. Anyway, early days and no causes for concern!

2.) 17 Aug 2015 12:14:04
Have to agree golden wolfie spot on ,only disappointment was the last 15 min.
Could of lost it we were tired out there why have subs if you are not going to use them ,but all in all good performance but need to put chances away so now on to Q.P.R. come on me babies we are wolves aywe

Just seen "Football League Tonight" on Channel 5. Wow! Absolutely terrible! From the toe-curling jokes that fell flatter than the Hawthornes on a Saturday to the terrible interruptions about random social media posts. Not to mention the completely random order; Sheffield Wednesday's win over Bristol City was followed by Sheffield United losing to Gillingham in League 1. What? At least we were on early enough and that it was worth sitting through the horrors of before.

I know "The Football League Show" on BBC was bad. Its graveyard shift was a complete nuisance for a 30 second highlight. But at least there was a steady flow of games in a set order of divisions, though some of the day's better matches (ours mainly) were reserved until later. Also, no adverts! I don't know, maybe I'm being a little haste, but I personally hated the first episode. Bring back Manish!

They got 3yr deal was just so random with order off play and typical ch5 have to have a pointless comp in middle programe

Gona get sky in that case can't deal with it for three years.

5.) 09 Aug 2015 17:01:00
It's crappest footy show ever I mean why ask Martin Allan to describe a goal against his own team - what the point - how come we didn't get mention as a favorite seeing how close we came lst season and they really blew budjet on those league tables very blue peter and sorry but presenters seem like they not got clue what script is or even if got one

Recall the vultures Realist; we ain't dead yet! Don't know about Jackett's way or the highway - Jamie O'Hara had a few games in Kenny's first season despite him being isolated to the reserves. If needs be. But I honestly don't believe there is any divide in the dressing room. The loss of Sterman will be felt in the dressing room more than anywhere; especially without Batth. My concern is on the pitch rather than off - performances have been poor. Take care of the results and the rest will hopefully follow.

Good luck also; based on last year you'll need it!

Would be absolutely delighted with Andre Gray. I think a £5m bid would be fair. It may seem like a lot but with Dicko, Afobe and Gray upfront that must guarantee close to 60 goals. As Watford proved last year, it's vital you've a few attackers to rely on. Le Fondre would also be a terrific signing on loan. He was excellent with Bolton last year, while Cardiff have five or six strikers to choose from. Kenny did play down the links, but hopefully the deal could happpen.

I'll admit I too become frustrated at times, but it all makes sense. We have to look very carefully at who we're signing. Morgan was given a cruel slap a few years ago. £12m was spent on Johnson and O'Hara. Both were vilified and largely responsible for our double relegation - another enormous financial loss for the club and Morgan. Solbakken's signings also failed - bar of course Sako. But Morgan gave £20m to Solbakken, and as he rightfully protested after our loss to Blackburn in 2012, we were the FIFTH BIGGEST SPENDERS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE. This is neither sustainable nor successful. So I am fully supportive of the programme in place of promoting youth. What seems like a lack of ambition is actually fairly calculated.

Looking over all the serious targets we've had since Kenny was appointed, who was a serious loss and who are we delighted to have dodged. I think bar Callum Wilson, all our other targets were bullets dodged - and I fully expect at the Leeds United circus that Chris Wood will join that ever expanding list.

Take a quick look at Burnley - got promoted two years ago. Total spend on transfers; £800,000. That means we should require just another £600,000! Look at Brentford. A meagre total spend. Yet clever rotation and a great spirit got them to the play-offs. Bournemouth - £3m on Callum Wilson and now they're in the big time! You don't have to spend big, you just got to be savvy. Or at least in our case, have a little Moxey!

Keep the Faith you guys above, the loan window opens soon!

The reality is we paid a mere £2m for Afobe. £8m is a 400% profit and that's sure to ring alarm bells in the board's ears. I personally would want £12-15m for Afobe. We need enough to sign both a replacement (which won't be easy at all) and a goal-scoring winger.

Wouldn't be so sure. Ojo was terrific last night; assist for Dicko's goal of course. Van La Parra did to be fair made a decent impact. But I would suggest that Edwards and Henry will get the nod this weekend. Does anybody know however, is Jed Wallace injured? Just seemed such a ridiculous call with such tight competition to play Matt Doherty on the wing. If he's not injured, what's up; he was left out of the squad all together.
