Wolves definitely now in talks with Nigeria/England Left-Winger Sam Ameobi(23)the £3.6M valued ex-Newcastle Free Agent. Ameobi rated as big, fast, left-footed and still developing. A direct replacement for Sako but at 6'4" and 13st can be used up front in the middle as a replacement for Clarke and Doyle.

Wolves also sniffing Left-Winger Gael Kakuta exChelsea Free Agent valued at £2.5M as a Sako replacement who can also play in the middle as a backup/competition to Dicko.

Please can we stop the obsession with Sammy Ameobi. If he was any good he would get in a shambles of a Newcastle side. Hope we don't get him and hope Kusczak turns down any offer we make to him.

2.) 24 May 2015 11:46:40
100% agree South Banker

3.) 24 May 2015 13:57:35
I'm sorry to say we more than likely are in talks with if it comes off it comes off we sign him get behind him if we don't we don't I know not many people want and he does get in Newcastle team let just leave it to kj tbh I know I've come on posted but really let's leave it to kj and who ever he signs give our backing

4.) 24 May 2015 13:58:45
I hope we give Kusczak a new deal and he signs it. He's never going to be the main man between the sticks for us but he's as good as any other goal keeper our level for a backup.

As for Ameobi, no thanks.

5.) 24 May 2015 15:17:08
Did you not see him blunder for virtually every goal he conceded?? Take it you don't go to the matches if you hope he signs!!

6.) 24 May 2015 16:21:28
Haedric the Tamworth keeper is better than him! U obviously haven't been to games when he's played.

7.) 24 May 2015 16:45:20
Kusackz will sign a new contract we've already started talks and before u lot say I don't go 😂😂 I've got a season ticket and tbh u can't deny in games when he was in goal he kept us in games

8.) 24 May 2015 17:15:02
Kept us in games my backside!! He is a complete liability and gave away numerous goals and points and there is better in pub football than him

9.) 24 may 2015 17:17:23
matt for goodness sake get real he lost us points at brighton he lost us points against watford enough to give us a play off never mind the stupid goals he let absolutely stupid goals in against leeds and milwall i cannot back him he is an idiot
oops sorry about the caps!

{Ed001's Note - I fixed the caps for you mate.}

10.) 24 May 2015 17:30:37
Yes I agree with those he did but there's no point saying u don't want him to stay because he will u all know that he will an okay saying he kept us in games he kept us in 2 tbh at home derby and away Huddersfield because he made so really good saves in those games

11.) 24 May 2015 19:31:59
Matt if your serious I suggest u go to specsavers!!

12.) 24 May 2015 20:53:44
Honstley Paul u know he's going to stay kenny wants him to stay that's why he's opened talks with him I say we need to stop worrying about who our back up keeper is as there more important postions to strength tbh

13.) 24 May 2015 21:36:28
Matt the most important part of a team is the spine! Keep centre half centre mid and striker, if Ikeme got injured he is the replacement and that weakens the spine! A teams back up keeper is very important.

14.) 24 May 2015 22:23:12
Yes Paul I do agree but tbh before we get a backup GK tbh I'd rather us a sign a LM,CDM and ST then worry about that tbh

15.) 25 May 2015 03:07:47
Derbywolf you obviously know everything. considering ikeme was in goal against Leeds? In fairness the goals conceded against Leeds were stupid mistakes by the defence so to blame the keeper for them shows how much attention you actually pay. Right facts of it are he flaps at the ball when coming out to get it agreed, however he talks more to the defence then ikeme actually does. Out the two i'd rather have ikeme in and before I get rubbish of don't go to the games i'm 24 and been a season ticket holder for 19 years. Personally I think his great for back up and all those knocking him for costing us points here's some facts for you. From when kuszack has came in we have lost 3 drawn 2 won 8 conceded 12 and kept 6 clean sheets with him in goal when ikeme came back in inbetween kuszacks stints we lost 3 drew 1 won 1 conceded 10 kept 0 clean sheets why aren't you looking at those 5 games and mentioning dropped points in 4 out of those 5 have cost us? And if you want to stretch it back to ikemes last 13 over the 13 kuszack played for us ikemes stats are lost 3 won 6 drew 4 conceded 14 clean sheets 5 so statistically considering kuszack has cost us so many points as you keep pointing out statistically wise we've gained more points conceded less and kept more clean sheets with him in. go double check me if you want I included league games only and stretched it back over the last 13 each keeper played as that's how many kuszack played for us. As concerns ameobi not a big lover but KJ has earnt my trust with his transfers on the overall spectrum of things. Wish you lot weren't so fickle and negative.

16.) 25 May 2015 08:42:48
Ikeme hasn't exactly been great since he came back in. I don't know whether some people just have a problem with Kuszczak. To be honest if we want to be in the Prem we need better than both of them.

17.) 25 May 2015 09:11:01
Ok the stats may be better in Kusczaks favour but he cost us goals and at least 5 pts from his errors, Ikeme rarely costs us pts. As Paul quite rightly says we are weaker with Kusczak in goal, you need a reliable back up and he definitely isn't. I don't have a personal problem with him he just ain't good enough. By the way as previously stated 2pts against Watford, 2pts against Brighton and 1pt against Bournemouth. How many pts did Ikeme cost us? So look at the bigger picture and weigh things up before spouting statistics.

18.) 25 May 2015 11:18:35
Hi Sbrek I wish I did know everything then I would be super rich and on Wolves and you could berate me 100% :-)
Kuszak presses all the wrong buttons for me as a goallie that's the problem he flaps, misses crosses comes out when he shouldn't etc etc
BUT as someone said I too trust KJ so I will shut up about our clown goallie to be.
Ameobi I don't know what to think really but if KJ wants him hold on to the roller coaster for another ride :)

19.) 25 May 2015 11:58:17
It's all about opinions and mine is that he wouldn't get a new contract! If he does il support him like I do the rest of the lads. Hopefully he doesn't though!!)

20.) 25 May 2015 15:27:33
Yeah I understand everyone having their own opinion and would never tell someone theirs is categorically wrong just wanted to point out the factual error mate ;-). I totally agree we need better then both of them. Also when people question what points ikeme does cost us you would be surprised the goals he does actually cost us. Just because he hasn't flapped at the ball or let a shot slip through doesn't mean he hasn't cost us goals and points. They're is many situations where if he commanded his box more goals wouldn't be conceded. Example being the corner conceded against birmingham how many floated deliverys into a 6 yard box do you see where decent keepers don't come out to punch it away or collect the ball. If you looked at goals conceded from set pieces and crosses whilst ikeme has been in you'd see he costs us more then you realise by being indecisive. But as I said as it's not a direct flap or missing the shot it goes unnoticed they're is much more to being a keeper then just shot stopping.

21.) 25 May 2015 16:03:51
We need a mix of Pierce, Bradshaw and Stowell 👍

22.) 25 May 2015 17:23:15
Did kuszczak do badly for Wolves? No. Is he a good back up keeper? Yes. Is he settled at the club? Yes. Does he demand first team football? No. Is he on low wages? Most likely. Is he free? Yes. Are there any better keepers who are free? Probably not. Is he a short term player? Yes. A new one/two year deal is a no brainer, hence why wolves are in talks with him. Think about it guys.

23.) 25 May 2015 17:32:48
As for Ameobi, did he do it in the premier league? No. Did he get much game time? No.Can he do it in the championship? Maybe. If he was rubbish, would Jackket be wasting his time on him? No. Jackket bought McDonald for 250k and Dicko for 400k, I think he knows what's he doing

24.) 25 May 2015 17:52:54
*Jackett

25.) 25 May 2015 18:51:11
We will see?? More expectation and pressure this season!

26.) 25 May 2015 19:45:04
Gav I understand your comments but why have a back up keeper just because he is free when he is unreliable and will give stupid goals/points away. Think about it. We have money so we don't need to just make do with him.

27.) 25 May 2015 21:11:12
Hope for kennys sake he gets off to a good start?? Especially now Ancelotti Alladyce and Mclaren are out of work??????

28.) 26 May 2015 11:56:37
Kuszack isn't as bad as half of you lot are making him out to be I guess he is this years scapegoat.
He is a good backup keeper however I do think Colin Doyle would be a better option he is free now too so could be worth a punt.
Both Ikeme and Kuszack have cost us points.
Maybe we should stop having pops at players and get behind them we all make mistakes.

29.) 27 May 2015 16:46:14
Ikeme was in goal against Leeds

17 May 2015 07:59:04
Fact: Aaron McCarey suspended for banned-substance use. Investigations underway. Backup Keeper has now become a higher priority. As well as Colin Doyle, alternatives from Premier League being considered.

Any body heard any transfer news about ameobi or mason or anything seems a bit dead what surprise 😂😂

2.) 18 May 2015 14:50:15
As far as I know the transfer window doesn't open until 1st June so there won't be any news yet

3.) 18 May 2015 16:35:23
South banker you know what I mean like any rumours haha and I thought it opened 1st July because players can't sign till then

14 May 2015 13:21:16
Left-footed Sam Ameobi a serious target to replace Sako. (KJ prefers Ameobi to Michail Antonio since Antonio is right-footed and can be contained by good teams). Camaro an option but lower down the pecking order.

Wolves also looked closely at Dalcio Gomes (18) of Lisbon Belenenses. A very fast left-footed winger who knows how to dribble and has a shot like Sako. May be brought in for short term development in u21's before First-Team but already playing Top-Flight in Portugal.

Fly

1.) 14 May 2015 21:52:14
From I've read sammy ameobi would be taking us in the serious consideration because he would be getting regular first team football and would most defo replace sako and he's only on about 14k a week and wolves are relaxed about because of the money they've got back of certain players but never really heard of the other 2

2.) 15 May 2015 07:39:03
Just wanted to say I'm glad about us going to France in pre-season as it's a change and will be good for fans that go BUT if you look at who we're actually going to play ok it hasn't been confiremed yet but we will more than likely play 2 teams out of ligue 2 there's 7 possible we could play in pre-season and this is the order there in on the league table

1.ES Troyes
2.GFC Ajaccio
3.Angers SCO
4.AS Nancy
5.Dijon FCO
6. Stade Brest
7.Le Havre AC

Now these teams are in that order in ligue 2 we won't play anyone from ligue 1 because we more than likely get battered now tbh this is why I would of rather us go holland because we could play teams in there top league which would be equal to us and I know I sould like I'm complaing but I'm not

{Ed001's Note - the French league is growing in strength mate, plus there is the fact that it is partly about building relationships with clubs. There are a lot of players in Ligue 2 that clubs are looking at, building a good working relationship with the clubs might just give you an edge to sign one later.}

3.) 15 May 2015 10:36:09
Yes mate I fully agree with you there but hopefully u can see we're I'm coming from as well

{Ed001's Note - I understand, I was just explaining the thinking behind it.}

4.) 15 May 2015 11:51:05
please .no my newcastle mate saud he's terrible and sako 10x the player he is m woukd be a backward step imo. should go for ghat michail zryo

5.) 15 May 2015 13:10:55
Let's just keep Sako!!

6.) 15 May 2015 15:34:05
I agree with you Paul give him a year contract extension and see what happens he likes playing alongside Afobe and Dicko they can afford his wages now Doyle and a few others have left Molineux.

7.) 15 May 2015 15:36:47
I agree

8.) 15 May 2015 15:42:23
He doesn't want to play for us anymore Paul! Especially as he has interest from Premier League teams like Aston Villa and West Brom. We promised him the Premier League 3 seasons ago and instead he has played Championship and League 1 football. He deserves the Prem.

He has honoured his contract and now it is time for him to move on and for us to find someone who is talented and can grow and develop like this Ameobi bloke.

9.) 15 May 2015 17:42:41
Ameobi is rubbish mate, I know Sako can be an idle so and so and frustrates us at times, but he is a game changer and match winner!! If the 2 M's can show sako we mean business this season with a couple of quality signins and give him a pay rise plus a promotion bonus who knows, it might just sway him our way! Replacing him will be very difficult without spending decent money as quality costs!

10.) 15 May 2015 19:30:37
I will be very surprised if that happens. Sako does not want to play for us anymore and at 27 years old I don't blame him! He wants to get into the Premiership ASAP and now he has top flight interest, I'll imagine he will bite their hands off. Bakary said in an interview that he will decide his fate in the next few weeks, by which time I doubt we will have two quality players because the transfer window isn't even open yet.

Moxey has promised that they will spend big in the summer transfer window to replace Sako so we can push for promotion next season, so we shall see how that goes.

11.) 16 May 2015 02:47:24
I know everyone has the opinion on what they think and that but this is my opinion for me sammy ameobi would be a good signing and each peace that I read about it he sounds as tho we're favourites to sign him okay if you have watched him a Newcastle he ain't done that well okay but you can see he has pace and strength and can beat players I think playing in a team that will win games and give him confiedence and will play week in week out more than likely and I think you would see the best of him

Also just wanted to point out that i'd like to sign these players in the summer

Nick powell- I think a move to wolves could restart his career and get the best out of him again

Radolph Austin-strong breaks up play and can score god what we need

Chuba akpom- played at arsenal with benik and I think him and benik and dicko could be a real force and u could also play them all in a front 3 benik down the middle nouha from the right and akpom from the left if u needed to

Jamie ward- if ameobi or someone else doesn't come of he's proven at this level tbh

12.) 16 May 2015 06:42:11
Yes! Bakary and u21's Ibrahim Keita have already turned down new offers. As good as gone! Tomasz Kuszczak may also turn down new offer. Sam Ricketts being offered Coaching Contract.

13.) 16 May 2015 08:48:09
Really hope kuszac turns us down as Colin Doyle ex blues is a far better option

14.) 16 May 2015 10:24:07
Got some news people wolves have confirmed that there is no Interest in jonny Russell, nadir ciftci, jack thomas, josh ginnelly but haven't confirmed there not Intrested in ameobi so I've got a feeling there is truth to the ameobi report and it wouldn't surprise me if wolves hold talks with him over the next 2 weeks or so

15.) 16 May 2015 20:17:52
Colin Doyle is rubbish. I don't know why anyone thinks he's better than Kuszczak (not that I'm saying he's great either). What about that lad from Southend, Daniel Bentley? He's got a big future.

12 May 2015 15:59:26
Aaron McCarey unknown/untested quantity after shoulder operation. Tomasz Kuszczak therefore offered new one year deal. Tomasz looking at all options. Opinion is - but only opinion - that he will sign. Colin Doyle is the preferred option if he doesn't.

Fly

1.) 12 May 2015 18:38:28
Kuszczak is garbage!! Our Sunday league keeper is better!! He wimps out of challenges, doesn't control his box and goes down in instalments!! Get Rid!!

2.) 13 May 2015 00:57:01
Paul Kusackz was has played 15 games this season an conceded 12 Ikeme came back for 8 games and conceded 10 I don't think u can say he's that bad

3.) 13 May 2015 08:47:45
Matt with the greatest respect your stats hide the reality of the figures.
Kusakz in that time space cost us a play off place. I will only use 2 instances
1 - the goal he let in against Brighton was totally his fault
2 - the 2 goals he blundered against Milwall

Those errors alone would have put us on equal goal difference and given us points that would have guaranteed us in the play offs

That's only 2 instances, face it he is a liability firget he can't take out crosses or runs out of his goal at the wrong time repeatedly

4.) 13 May 2015 09:19:17
DerbyWolf u forgot the second equaliser Watford got when he bottled it! He is Runbish!! I'd use stronger language to describe him but I wouldn't get it passed!!)

5.) 13 May 2015 10:04:27
Have to agree with derby wolf gave 2 silly goals away against milwall, must get better cover for ikeme if we are going to get one

6.) 13 May 2015 10:20:09
Completely agree as my previous post states he cost us 2pts against Watford, 2 pts against Brighton and 1 pt against Bournemouth any of those and we would have been in play offs. If he was any good Brighton wouldn't have let him go let alone Man Utd and West Brom.

7.) 13 May 2015 10:25:11
And his kicking is awful!!

8.) 13 May 2015 10:54:34
Nice to see a new scapegoat on here, bored of slating Stearman and Edwards are we?
Kuzsack ain't rubbish but he isn't brilliant either both Kuszack and Ikeme have cost us.
Colin Doyle wouldn't be a bad option imo, release kuszack and bring in Doyle.

9.) 13 May 2015 11:16:41
kuz is rubbish! I agree about bringin Doyle in if we can.

10.) 13 May 2015 11:25:33
Not using him as a scapegoat just proving the point he is awful and I have never slated Stears or Edwards. Golden boy Batth has cost us a few goals too and Scotty cost us a point at Blues by not putting the ball in the stand. If you want to be picky then RVP missed a sitter at Boro for a point. I personally think we have had a fantastic season and was more than happy with 7th though obviuosly a bit disappointed to have missed out on gd, I have full trust in KJ making the few signings we need to push on and go for automatic next season.

11.) 13 May 2015 21:10:05
Now come on these are all FACTS about him don't need to use him as a scapegpat at all these are individual mistakes he made for everyone to see

Please don't sign him

12.) 14 May 2015 14:03:12
Completely agree regarding Baath costing us games.
The team is a young team who are still learning we should remember that i'm sure most of us are quite forgiving for mistakes given that the team is young.
Again I agree with you in trusting KJ to bring in the signings he needs if he is supported by the board ofcourse, I think he will have their full backing but we shall see lol.
7th was a great achievement by a young team, next season the lads will be more experienced in this league.

One for you Matt! Not only does Nouha Dicko get to wear the No 9 shirt, but Benik Afobe gets the No 10. And of all the No 10's that Benik has mentioned let's also not forget the late great Peter Broadbent.

The No 8 shirt is just waiting for Big Mac when - not if - he signs his new deal.

With George Saville still not up to speed Wolves do need at least a Backup for Pricey. Steve Bull fancies Youssouf Malumbu a Free-Agent from them lot down the road!?!

Fly

1.) 29 May 2015 17:23:30
Mulumbu is a good player, if you can look past his ties with the Baggies. His main weakness is a tendency to get booked, but you can get away with a lot more in the Championship than in the Prem.

Dwight Gayle is a top Wolves target as competition/replacement for Nouha Dicko, followed in the pecking order by Callum Harriott as a backup Striker/Left Winger.

Wolves still have big offers in for both Sammy Ameobi and Youssouf Mulumbu but facing massive competition.
