Contact the Qataris that are trying to buy Man U and tell them to buy Wolves, not a lot of negotiating

That still wouldn't resolve Wolves FFP issues.

2.) 29 Jul 2023 21:57:54
No matter who came in unless they invest in things like the stadium and things to greatly increase revenue into the club we'll be in the same boat.
Microsoft themselves could buy Wolves still wouldn't change our situation.

If we take Doherty back its like Wolves is a retirement home for ex players, what happened to young and hungry, next people will want Costa back as well

New one just arrived bondiwolf, Kawabe, an attacking MF, japanese signed from grasshoppers. Plus recalls for sanderson Giles and,my minds gone blank, the lad we loaned to Sheffield. Young and old does it matter if we proceed with cover experience and a positive learning curve. Bruno knows what he wants, the financial restrictions and his end desires. In Bruno I now trust.

{Ed077's Note - do you mean MGW abbey? Morgan Gibbs-White

2.) 05 Jan 2022 14:07:43
Personally don't want Doherty back he was quick enough to go when the offer came in so he can rot.
Also where has this Doherty rumour come from?

3.) 05 Jan 2022 15:50:07
So, Rated, if Jota was to come back would that apply to him also? After all, he went as fast. Btw, it was in Football Insider. I'd have him back in a tick. Might be possible he'd be in a deal with Traore going the other way, along with cash.
Think if Lage wants him that'd be good enough for me.

4.) 05 Jan 2022 14:01:09
Thanks Ed yes I do, I had a total brain freeze

{Ed077's Note - happens even to the best of us Abbey?

5.) 05 Jan 2022 16:20:40
Belfast-the problem is that your comparing apples and pears! Jota has just turned 25 and is consistently shinning in on of the best teams in the world! Doherty on the other hand is about to turn 30 and currently can't get into a defence which is not even good as our own! Add to that with Jota we need goals, what do we need Matt for?! We have two quality RB and Jonny about to return. It's not that I don't want him back cause I hold a grudge it's that the club moved him on with an eye to improve, I'm not sure why they should devieat from that position now they've put in the hard work to do that?! If he comes I can only assume Semedo is on his way and for me that would represent a big step backwards

6.) 05 Jan 2022 16:58:21
One's 25 and one's 30 Belfast, bit of a difference.
Doherty has gone backwards whilst Jota has gone forwards.
Ofcourse if Doherty did come back he'd have my full support but personally I don't want him back he is the past we are a club gradually moving forward.

7.) 05 Jan 2022 19:17:58
Personally. Doherty can do one. Were covered, semedo and hoever,
This new Japanese lad looks promising, and barbosa wants prem football, just need a centre back
And maybe Sanches,

8.) 06 Jan 2022 17:51:47
Grey- I agree with most of what ya saying but WHU seem to have turned away from Barbosa and that tells me that he probs wants an astronomical wage! He's got a low release fee (I believe around £10m) and I suspect he's trying to use that to manoeuvre a large contract. WHU have a far bigger wage cap than us so if they can't afford him I'm not sure we could. Mind you I'd love to see it, it didn't work for him at Inter but he's been scoring goals for fun back in Brazil ?

9.) 07 Jan 2022 00:20:02
Bully - From a report I saw I believe WHU have pulled out of the Barbosa deal because they wanted a loan with option but his club want a straight sale (presumably need the money now rather than later).
Imagine we'd only be interested in a loan with option aswell so probably counts us out for the same reason as WHU.

We could sign Kane but if the ball isn't getting from the midfield forward we are in trouble, Silva and Cultrone had terrible service against Chorley and even when Jiminez was fit and playing he was getting frustrated with the lack of service.

BondiWolf

1.) 24 Jan 2021 08:46:45
Seriously, why would Kane come to us-even if we could afford him-? Where we are now it will be very difficult to attract top players; we can barely get one on loan.

2.) 24 Jan 2021 12:22:05
It's just an observation we could sign the best striker in the world but with no service he will rarely score, the midfield is the issue apart from Vinthia on Friday they was none existent.

3.) 24 Jan 2021 14:11:24
Agree. Our midfield never break the lines with either a quick turn of pace or a incisive through ball. Only attacking option they take is with a ball to our wide men. Far too predictable but also massively frustrating for frontmen who can make runs galore with no chance of the ball ever arriving, from anything other than a long punt out of defence. Statistics for our midfield must show that the overwhelming proportion of the passes they make are either backwards or sideways and short and safe. Will look good on percentage completion but has no impact on outcome of a match.
Would be less of a problem if they were all outstanding defensively, but they are not. Once bypassed they are not athletic enough to get back and retrieve. Forwards and defence are far from perfect but I believe the area we need to improve, first and foremost, is centre midfield. Think this has been the priority for last few transfer windows. Linked with options but nothing happens.

You get the feeling we are going to end up with a desperate signing and none of the stars we thought were coming.

BondiWolf

1.) 31 Aug 2017 15:10:51
My thoughts as well.
Having sold Dicko we now appear desperate and therefore prices will be inflated in whoever we show an interest in.
We'll be over a barrel and at the mercy of any club we contact.

Nuno will never come back, Shi will never be replaced its a Chinese business run by Chinese managers Shi might be a good businessman but knows nothing about football, he relied on Mendes for our transfer business and dspite a few good players we got a lot of players who didn't want to be here but it brought them to the notice of other premiership clubs. O'Neil is on a three year contract which will have to be paid out if sacked and who wants to come to a club with a budget of zero.

Gueddes has had two major injuries we will be lucky to get our money back on him, Sasa ability still questionable, a panic buy, Neto a lot slower now after his injuries surprised we haven't looked at any of the relegated players instead of going overseas for players without premiership experience

Seems we are building a Championship side, Everton interested in Coady, Forest still want MGW, how long before somebody gets interested in Neto, if he hadn't just recovered from a serious injury other teams would be all over him.

Ramos has a £102 million release clause in his contract, has only scored 8 times in 46 appearances, we hardly need another goal shy forward

Wow that brings back memories with Dougan's goal against Hull was it is first game for us and Peter Knowles what a player remember he scored a hat trick against Portsmouth and kicked the ball out of the ground in celebration, so Portsmouth sent him the bill for the ball, about £7 in those days.

We were lucky in the FA cup as Lambert selected youngsters in place of senior players, so I wonder whether is was using it as a practice game as he didn't expect to beat Liverpool.
