So- Palace bid of £3m accepted for Hennessey. Celtic's bid for Leigh Griffiths has been accepteted. Looks like Doyler's off to Middlesbrough.

A busy day ahead. And £3m for Hennessey is a brilliant bit of business. Well done Moxey

Andy Woggle

1.) Great to see MM & SS's players being moved on, some have stagnated and this is going to be KJ's team now. But next, Julie from Coventry who says they should of kept Leon Clarke.

2.) Doyle to qpr

3.) Reports are that Siggy is off on loan to Molde with a view to permanent. Jackett has said that if this happens, Doyler's loan move is blocked

4.) Losing Hennessey (£3m), Griff (£1m) & Doyle loan should reduce the wage bill by around £50-£60k p/w as well as an extra £4m in transfer fees received.

Hopefully we can secure one more signing with help from these savings

5.) Interesting about Doyle and siggy

I'd much rather keep siggy younger and we thought he had potential I know Kenny jacket doesn't see it and he hasn't played and I agree but I'd like to see him have a chance

Either that or sell both and buy

Hogan from Rochdale
And
Pritchard from spurs

Can't see that happening though

Fingers crossed

6.) Surely someone has to come in. hardly any experience up front now.

7.) Doyle out, Henna out, Griff out, please let's get some quality back in .Show some ambition to get the fans back.

8.) Get the fans back? Our attendances are tops for a L1 team (which is what we currently are)

People need to realise we won't sign PL players at this level

I would like to see some of this money reinvested the same as anyone else but we should be realistic in our expectations

9.) As said before re invest the money get hogan if they rate him being as they've watched him a few times and Pritchard or someone on that level as an attacking midfielder

10.) As with any business we should be planning ahead and investing to build for next year .If we are happy where we are with the gates we get then we will be where we are but that is not Wolves . PL players are out of our reach for maybe 1 or 2 years but good quality exciting signings should not be above our expectations.

11.) Hennessey Griffiths and Doyler all for sure gone (Doyler to QPR after all that!). The reports I found on Doyler's being blocked if Siggy goes suddenly seem inaccurate.

I understand fully why these players have left, but it has left us somewhat lacking in depth upfront. 3 strikers just isn't enough. We are going to need to either snaffle Hogan from Rochdale or get someone in on loan when the window opens (what I expect will happen)

12.) Get some players in? where have you been for the last few months. Dicko, Clarke, Henry, Jacobs all recent additions. Moxey doing the right thing by offloading those who don't want to be here

13.) How many chances do you give a player

He's had three different managers fgs!

He's not good enough to cope with the pace and toughness of the English game, shame but true!

12 Jan 2014 20:53:19
Twitter is awash with reports, including one from ssn claiming that Dicko has signed a two and a half year deal.

Get in

Andy Woggle

1.) He was awful last season so one good game against us everything and he is suddenly a world beater?

2.) Awful in 4 appearances. Get real.

3.) ^^^
He was being played as a winger last season. Do you not pay attention before you moan?

4.) Not one good game. He's scored 6 in 6 games at rotherham. Different team, style of p, ay and manager when he was here last season. Give him a chance FFS (if he signs)

5.) Erm and how many games did he play for us last season. the same amount you accuse the rest of us for judging him this season.

6.) It wasn't just against us though, everyone's a critic you'll be licking his arse if he scores a couple on his debut

WILKO

7.) 12 Jan 2014 23:15:26
I won't lick his arse he is average at league one level he will be another Keogh total kak fans will lose patience wait and see SANDWELL WULF

8.) 28 goals in 86 games. At the age of 21, and when most of these come as sub appearances. This is a pretty good return.

He ripped us apart last month. I reckon it's a great signing.

28 Nov 2013 15:50:06
So we escaped a close shave by Craiiiig Davies failing a medical. No-one in but Aaron McCarey off to York City on loan.

I think this is a good call. will do him loads of good if he's played as number 1 keeper somewhere. Does this leave Henners as number2 choice? I for one hope so. Good competition for Ikeme

Andy Woggle

1.) Just been told that Sako has a gentlemens agreement to leave in January.he has a 2.5 million strictly cash buy out clause which has been added to his contract.jackett and thelwell have boxed clever to buy some time Jacobs will be his replacement, plus will fund the signing of Donaldson from Brentford.

2.) No thanks don't want clay ton Donaldson

3.) Think Jacobs would be an ideal replacement should Sako go, but maybe the dip in his form is exactly what we need to keep him. Hoping that we just pay up and get Jacobs in, and Henry as a priority as a matter of fact. Donaldson might just be the presence we need up front with Griffo

4.) According to Siggys agent he wants out in January. I can't blame him, if Cassidy is bein chosen before him it's time to go! Paul Tamworth

5.) Like to see Chris Woods join rather than Donaldson. Played for KJ at Millwall

MEDIA WOLF PETE

6.) Eusabio hat-trick in u-21s 3-1 win over spurs. Bench at least for Saturday.

7.) Agreed, he can't do any worse than Cassidy! Paul Tamworth

23 Nov 2013 22:43:29
I'll take a clean sheet against the form team in the league. Shame Orient had to win, but a point from one of the top teams in the league is another point towards promotion.

In other news, it's all over social media and the Danish media that Siggy is in informal talks with FC Copenhagen about re-joining up with Solbakken and Margrietter in January. I sincerely hope this not to come to fruition, but can see it happening, and won't blame Sig if he takes up on it

Andy Woggle

1.) Agree with both parts of the post. I think with Posh losing it was important we stopped Brentford ( who will be a threat come May) from gaining on us. Incidentally Posh play Brentford on Tuesday, and us on Saturday.

Siggy clearly isn't happy, his cold shoulder of KJ on Tuesday when taken off said a lot

2.) 24 Nov 2013 08:07:50
The Orient score isn't imoortant. In fact we want them to beat teams in the chasing pack. Results elsewhere were kind to us anyway. We want Posh and Brentford to draw. Then it's only 2 points between them not 3.

Agree about Siggy. He is 3rd choice striker as he was last season. He was a rising star in Norway before he joined us, and is entitled to a new start.

3.) 24 Nov 2013 13:09:54
Siggy is overated and overpaid for what he brings to the squad. Offload him while we have the chance. Not enough goals or assists and doesn't work hard enough.

4.) Get rid of siggy and put Ebanks back in the team!

5.) Seb turned a contract down last season and said he was unwilling to play in league 1.

6.) 24 Nov 2013 21:20:02
Siggy is a competent player, but hasn't lived up to what we hoped for, which was someone like Michu I suppose. I'll bet he will do very well outside the UK.

7.) 25 Nov 2013 12:21:37
Why do players like SEB and Hunt prefer to not play at all than play for teams lower than their expectations or for lower pay than they got at Wolves? Their earning potential will surely be going down all the time.

8.) Funnily enough I heard we were offered Michu along with a few other Championship clubs. Swansea were the ones to take the risk on him and look how it came off.

9.) Don't believe Siggy is over-rated, some genuine touches of class last season. Good in the air, has genuine pace, can beat a man and natural finisher. Not sure what has gone wrong but its starting to look like we can't integrate non british players into this team. Hope we are not just settling for upper championship status.

10.) 25 Nov 2013 17:47:51
I think that too. The only manager we had who knew about overseas players was Solbakken. KJ is kidding himself if he can build a team of UK/Irish-nurtured players that will get much higher up the league.

If Siggy and Sako go, that's what we will be.

11.) Maybe the best time to look at foreign players is when and if we manage to get back to the premier. For now in league 1 we are much better with uk & irish players.

12.) Agreed. We have a very poor record with foreign players. Probably only Pollet was a success out of the many we have signed. De Wolf may have been, but for injury, but as for the rest.

13.) If Siggy does leave I can hand on heart guarantee that he will become one of the top players in whichever league he goes to. He's just suffering from lack of confidence, just like Cassidy.

Re foreign players. I completely agree. Pollet was a revelation and Vio Ganea was a handy addition too back in the day, but other than that, Havard Flo, Tomasz Frankowski etc etc have been shockers

Rumours circulating that we are about to take Michael Jacobs on loan from Derby until January.

Anyone know anything about him?

Andy Woggle

1.) Deal done. signed on loan until Jan with a view to permanent. Sako off then?

2.) David Jacobs the old tv presenter more like

3.) Signed on loan . yes until 2nd Jan . with view to a perm no not mentioned

4.) View to a permanent clearly stated in local rag tonight. duh

5.) Stress and stir says with a view to permanent. so must be true.

6.) OK, I'll re-word that. Has anyone seen him play?

Seems like a lot of foaming County fans on social media which implies a good player. Bit of competition for Sako can only be a good thing.

I'll trust KJ's judgement on this for now. His signings have all been astute so far

7.) Now let's see if we can see some Jacob's crackers.

8.) 12 Nov 2013 09:21:43
Well people here have been saying that our midfield looks a bit limp, and KJ has brought in 3 new midfielders now - 4 if you count O'Hara, and Golbourne isn't bad in LM either. In fact we have so many midfielders I can see us loaning out a couple just to balance the books.

So. It's to be Leon Clarke.

Now I have all season praised Kacket/Thelwell/Webber for their sigings. jackett has made his own team out of new signings that have all been top notch in my opinion.

When Leon Clarke's name first turned up, I thought "Dear God No" for how his attitude was the last time around. But after a while I thought that maybe just maybe he had changed. He's the league top scorer after all, and I'd go with KJ's judgement.

Here's the But, and it's a big BUT. Remember the stink that kicked off when Wayne Hennessey refused to play? How the internets were calling for his dismissal, even Kenny Jackett came out in public to point out how unprofessional it was? Well Leon Clarke did exactly the same thing to Coventry last night. The hypocrisy doesn't sit right with me. It's fine for another team's player to do so, just not one of ours? What's to say that next season he doesn't do exactly the same thing? Maybe he hasn't changed after all.

I will back him in Gold and Black (Just like I would O'Hara) but I for one won't sing his name. I fear this is Jackett and Thelwell's first error of judgement

Andy Woggle

1.) Totally agree good post won't do much for morale either

2.) Meant Jackett of course. Sorry for lack of typing ability!

3.) Makes me wonder if KJ is thinking about the future because Clarke won't cut it in the championship, that's if we get promoted that is.

A very odd signing indeed just hope it doesn't back fire on him but I can see it happening

4.) In fairness Andy W I can understand perhaps the underlying anxiety surrounding this signing.

But there are some differences with the Hennessey and Clarke situations. Clarke had already put in a transfer request, Henno didn't.
Clarke let it be known that he wanted a move, Henno working on the prospect of interest in him. Clarke is staying in the same division, most likely Henno was promoting himself out and up a division, maybe 2 if CP were calling.
Finally, if his then club, Coventry, were stalling - understandably - then he, Clarke, was in a very awkward situation, transfer in, window shut, going nowhere.
He brought the situation to a head.

Pressley is sounding off about his letting the team down, I would too because what he has achieved is a minor miracle, and it's team based so, of course, he doesn't want anyone disrupting the rhythm. But Clarke asked to go, and at 28, the opportunity he has now may not come again - opportunities are limited, he has grasped his and hopefully it will be rewarding. The £750k (probably undisclosed) will soften Pressley's cough a little - but I do have sympathy.

However I'm going to go with KJ on this one - if Clarke is the man he wanted, then this is the man he's got. This league is shaping up to be the shoot out at the OK Corral - we're going to need firepower to gun down the Bs and the Os. If Clarke has packed his shooting pistols and he's on our side, I'm ok with that. Think we're going to need him before the dust settles. wolfshead.

5.) 30 Jan 2014 09:06:02
If Jackett carries on playing 4231 kind of thing then I don't see how Clarke fits in. Or will we go to a conventional 442 now?

02 Jan 2014 22:43:27
Looking more and more likely that Nakhi Wells is off to either Leeds or Huddersfield.

Also social media seems to suggest that Kevin Phillips is almost certainly off to Leicester City until the end of the season.

Don't want to be a nay-sayer, but they were both realistic targets

Andy Woggle

1.) Can anyone tell me what kevin thelwell actually does, its now the 3rd of jan and no transfer targets identified spoken to or inquired about.to hit the ground running in the window you need to be ahead of the game and have done your homework it seems thelwell is just twiddling his thumbs

2.) 03 Jan 2014 09:26:22
Both were just out of reach.

3.) The 2 ms havnt got a clue, what's happened to our f.c., drawing with Tranmere forget promotion with results like that, not beaten anybody in top 6, yet we had a full house at mol. Angst orient crowd deserve better than this

4.) Loaning or buying in transfer at last minute is a deliberate ploy to save on wages for january! time to sell the non triers & won't play tribe at a heavy loss - can afford this as we have £16m parachute money. What morgan never has he never loses.

That £21.50 could have gone into my Xmas booze pot. it could have gone into the "I need a new car as the thrust bearing has just gone on mine" fund. or I could have given it to the homeless guy near the tram stop. That would have gone towards a cup of tea, a roof for the night in a hostel and a ten bag of brown. Instead it went on the worst football I've seen at Molineux since Burnley past.

I'm not joining the "Jackett Out" out brigade-that would be daft.We need stability, not another manager.Losing stability by sacking every 6 months gets no-one anywhere. Just look at Blackburn, Sheffield Utd, Portsmouth or -dare I say it- Wolves.

But today we were tactically inept, played off the park by a midfield consisting of Wolves rejects, and Sako is so off-form it appears he has actually forgotten how to play. He needs to be put on the bench for a few games, bring him on in the last 25 minutes and tell him to make a difference.

We were always going to drop in form though. We are not invincible. Just now ain't the time to do it. Preston are catching us up.

UTW

Andy Woggle

1.) Agree 100 per cent, seam to be getting nowere, promotion without being boring is a must anything else is unexceptable for a team like wolves with the money we have, we need to watch some good football at the wolves instead all we hear is we were not good enough today and deserved to lose, well when is this going to end them up the road sacked there manager and they beat man.utd, and our cup runs were disgusting we might as well not entered the competions, so what I say is I don't want to hear any more excuses I want to see we dictate games and win with some style, after all we are a big side in this division and it is not happening wolfy

I've been away for a while. I've come back and peered in here. My god, the negativity is incredible.

We are 3rd in the table, and only then because of GD. We have only lost once.

And everyone is harassing and blaming a young lad with a MASSIVE future ahead of him.

David Davis is not the finished article yet. But he will be. We have international strikers playing in the third division. And we are currently 3rd in the league.

Quit moaning and get behind your team for a while

Andy Woggle

Southbank rocked it tonight. As did our Wolves.

Although Sako looked a bit trigger happy, and played one too many balls that weren't thought through well enough, and Walsall definitely sussed out our defence in the second half, I'll definitely take that.

And Aaron McCarey certainly made a name for himself tonight. Two quality penalty saves there. I was a bit (still am tbh) gutted to see Wayne Hennesey shipped out on loan, but yet again it seems Keny Jackett has made a shrewd decision. Looks like a keeper (in both senses).

Trip to Wembley on the cards?

Andy Woggle

1.) Agree 100% Andy for a 1st round cup game we were rocking from start to finish! was sat in S1 and we were amazing. The team played relatively well considering it wasn't our full 1st 11. We should smash them in the league now. BTW the saddlers were very quiet you could hardly recognise they were there!

2.) S3 for us.Took a very close family friend's daughter to her first ever game. A fine start, she hasn't shut up about it since, and only wants to come back if she can stay Southbank.

Win all round!

3.) Aha she's got the old 'WOLVES BUG' good on ya for making a wolves fan of her

Move along. We are top of the league, best defensive record of the entre league setup, looking like dead cert to get promotion this season.

. And folk are still squabbling about Mick McCarthy and Stale Solbakken

Would prefer us to jus bid for wells and keep Griffiths tbh. They would work well together.

If there is any truth in the Mirror/Mail's stories we need to get more than 1.2 million for LG if he goes. He's already set that league on fire once. He's worth more than that

If reports of Siggy leaving in January come to fruition, then we DESPERATELY need another striker. Cass, much as it pains me to say it, isn't good enough
