I've just read the FA guide to shirt sponsorship to see if Tsingsao could potentially be the new Wolves shirt sponsor. Rule 8 categorically states that any Alcoholic drink or brewery would find it highly unlikely to be allowed permission to become an official sponsor. It also states that no Gambling company could be a sponsor. Funny how Swansea, Stoke etc were allowed Gambling companies as sponsors and the EFL (Governed by the FA) were sponsored by Sky Bet.

Rule 8 is purely relating to teams where all players are under 18, which bans advertising by anything that may be detrimental to such players. The indication of gambling and brewing companies are examples of advertisers that would be unlikely to get permission to advertise in such circumstances.

Didn't Liverpool have Carlsberg for awhile as shirt sponsors? Or was that before the rule came in I know it was awhile back.

Tubigon is right. It only applies to Under 18s sponsorship. Someone on this forum mentioned a few weeks ago that Tsingtao couldn't be our sponsors and I just wondered why not when I found the FA guide.
