Looks like they have asked Julen Lopetegui to stay a few days in UK, I guess to include the Chelsea match so no prizes for guessing who is our next manager!

The manager merry-go-round is happening everywhere! Southampton considering Cooper from Forest, Forest considering Benetiz, with Leicester also rumoured to want Benetiz!

Brendon Rogers anyone! Lopetegui has been sacked by Sevilla tonight, turning us down in 2016 to take Spanish National Team, jumping before World Cup with an offer to go to Real Madrid - questionable loyalties!

Martins going to Hull! Wonder kid that never looses lost 4-1 at Marseille last night! Brendon Rogers plays a good style of football, knows the Premier League, get him in and save our season.

With all respekt to Brendon Rogers there are only two teams behind us at the moment. Lopetequi will do.

Penkowolf. It was well known before the 2018 World Cup that Lopetegui would be joining Real Madrid following the finals, he was sacked because of this, he didn’t jump.

And? What point are you trying to make. Lopetegui was sacked after the Spanish FA found out he had already committed to Real Madrid, all I’m saying is do Wolves want someone with that degree of loyalty - short term appointment never stays anywhere more than 3 months. We want to build a team like Nuno did. Brendon Rogers for me

Lopetequi had just started his fourth season at Sevilla? And who in their right mind would say no to Spain or Real Madrid. Brendon Rogers still a Leicester manager. I want Zidane Klopp or Pep but I don't think it is realistic so I will back Lopetequi -if he gets the job.

Shame. I was hoping for Amorim or Martins. More recent experience of winning

That's a fair argument

Bottom of the league, sacked by Seville after another big loss, . Just what we need

Not really sure about this one, that said most of the candidates mentioned aren't exactly household names.

The club clearly don't want to prize somebody out of a club but want an up and coming coach and seem to be playing a long term game in finding him. This has been the pattern of certainly the last two appointments one of which worked well but didn't quite get us where we wanted and the other that went wrong. Walter Zenga looks more and more like a temporary appointment and Paul Lambert was the only time Fosun went for experience at the level we were at in the 4 appointments that they have so far made (clearly due to being in a serious relegation fight at that point in time).

So Fosun now seem to have the main target in their grasp. let's see how this pans out. Good luck to Lopetegui if he joins us.

I can't quite put my finger on it but I've got doubts.

Seems to be somewhat of a coincidence that when Lopitoglu was obviously on his way out Bruno suddenly got his P45 or am I just being cynical.

Winton not cynical but maybe realistic.

Had we been mid table ground out a couple of 1-0's and on 10 - 11 points but not playing great football it would have been interesting to observe Fosun's reaction but as things stand it was a straightforward decision for them to make.

However would Bruno have had more games to turn it around if Sevilla had been on a slower downward trajectory is something we'll never know.

Some managers and teams are just a good fit. Nuno was nothing special before or after Wolves but his time with us was perfect for a few years. Hopefully whoever the new manager is, he and Wolves will gel perfectly.

Agree Jas, Stan Cullis flopped after he left Wolves as did Sir Alf after short term brilliance at Ipswich and then England. Many others that posters could name I'm sure.

Any manager with two very successful spells on the CV is special. The difference IMO is now the international dimension to management. Many of the managers currently on the Champions league scene seem to be moving between clubs with elite squads in different countries and don't always stay for long, but the good managers eg Guardiola and previously Ferguson build and keep sides at the top. Granted these two were given the resources to do it but that's like F1 drivers where the best ones get the better cars.

Howeverthe really good ones like Fergie did it twice, initially with a small unfashionable club as did Cloughie 50 years ago with two small unfashionable clubs.

So I would go as far as saying most managers just get lucky and are the right fit. The ones who get two right fits are extremely lucky or really know what they're doing.

So chatting to a mate in Spain this afternoon, he really rates Lopetegui. Says Sevilla fans loved him to the end. He was undermined by the board who kept selling his players due to their poor financial situation. Let's give this guy a chance.

Rogers is so over-rated it's insane! He's won an FA Cup! (And some Scottish football stuff when there was only one team in the league) That's it! Oh and he's sitting below us at the moment.

We seem to have traded our Lada for a Ferrari and some people think we should have taken the Vauxhall.
