A daily paper has quoted Portuguese paper O Jogo "Wolves will break their transfer record for Raul Jimenez paying £39,000,000 for the forward"

Sorry but there's better out there for that kind of money.

I think we will end up keeping RJ and his realistic cost will end up being closer to 15m rattan than what being quoted by the press! They always take the sensational route as opposed to the realistic one. As I’ve said before, I believe if Nuno is given the support he will get it right. It is a project and they take time. He appears to have realised the sharp end needs attention, but this has to be got right!

Roll on Jan and let’s see what turns up. 😉⚽️👍.

Funny that as a fee of £33million is already agreed.

Say it is £33M - he still would not be worth that amount (in my humble opinion)

Also, should Wolves sign the Japanese winger (I forget his name) who would be getting sold? there are plenty of wingers at the moment playing for Wolves.

But not all firing atm. I'd take Nakajima and release Cavaliero and Traore.
In my humble opinion, Raul is definitely worth keeping.
But one more striker is needed, Sala or Digne.

Some say our squad isn't big enough so I doubt we'd buy one player but sell two others thereby making our small squad even smaller.

Raul is worth £33million imo he works hard, holds up the ball well, creates, knows where the net is too. For that type of premiership player £33million is a bargain.
I think cav might be on his way out if we sign that Japanese winger but we still have the likes of Zyro on our books so I think there's a deal in place there to for the loan club to purchase him.
We need some depth in midfield and defence imo too I think Pritchard would be worth a shout in midfield.

It's not size of the squad I was referring to, it was the forwards. Traore f***** clueless, Costa lazy and Cavaliero no thanks. Gimme Ennis any day over them.
Like I said, Digne or Sala with Nakajima will do.
Agreed, we do need to strengthen the squad but get rid of the dead wood too.

£33 million bargain? Pull the other one, Rated. There's absolutely no chance of paying that sort of money for him. Half that would be tops.

Just couldn't help yourself could you oldwulf even when we win two on the bounce you still have to be negative. Raul is worth £33 million if you think not then tell us who else we can get for that who holds up the ball, scores and creates?
The deal is already done you'll see.

If you account for the assists on top of goals, RJ is worth the 33 million. It is really difficult to get a proven goal scoring forward at that price tag these days. To frame it into context, look at Lukaku and Morata - for what they were paid for, they are producing less goods than RJ.

That's not being negative, it's being realistic Rated. I like Jiminez but even in these inflationary times for footballers he's not worth £33 million. You can certainly tell it's not your money and Fosun are too cute to pay that. My guess is they'll do a deal with one of those fee not being released clauses so that Benfica don't lose face.

If fosum get him cheaper then all the better as it means more money in the kitty to strengthen the team but £33million was agreed at start of season and he is certainly worth it.
I'm still waiting for you to tell us who we can get for £33million that will be better.

Can someone tell me why Cavaleiro has come in for all this criticism? The lads was out for how many weeks of the start of the season, Scored with his first touch of premiership football and has only played a handful of games and is still adapting to football at this level.
I don’t understand why people think it’s instantaneous theses days in football. I think people need to lay off the lads and stop thinking we’re Man City and Real Madrid and support the lads who are actually doing a decent job in their first as a young and inexperienced group of talented players. Yeah Costa and Traore have been frustrating in recent weeks but, so have a few others including Neves who I think has been really poor the past few games but, not a bad word about him is said.
Some people have really short memories. These lads could be a real force in a couple of years their young and learning to play at the highest level and with Nuno’s guidance and few class additions could be playing European football in a few years.

Traore got a foot like a trampoline - Costa so lazy, loses ball down tools - Cavaliero agree re injury but way too inconsistent.
Agreed Neves hasn't been great of late but he is our jewel in the crown.
Players do have poor spells but aforementioned trio "just don't cut it".
