Really strange that Nuno has not made any comment at all on Benik Afobe loan.
Would have thought it here would have been some reaction on a so called marquee signing.

Today I am a party pooper. Mr Afobe has not scored this season and has scored as many goals in 2 years as Grabban has scored in 4 months at struggling Sunderland. When Afobe signed last time he knew where the back of the net was, having scored a hatful on loan in Division 1. He brought confidence and swagger.

I rate him but at this time, 'to get us over the line', Grabban may have been the option. It will be tough for Afobe coming to our successful club, he will need to hit the ground running and may struggle for game time. Good luck to him but I am worried that he is not the short-term fix for us right now. In Nuno I trust.

To be honest I don't think that will be the case mate. I think afobe suits òur style of play more than bournemouth. He's similar to bonatini but with a bit more pace and a better finisher. Bournemouth like there strikers to get in behind the defender. Afobe isn't that player. He likes to come deep and link up play he done it all the time when he played for us and you could tell he come from arsenal.

Josh king and Wilson are similar sorts of players and completely opposite to afobe. Put Andy Carroll in a man city side and watch him struggle, put him in a pulis side and watch him shine. You see it all the time with strikers they need the right service for them to succeed and score goals. If man city suddenly started to play long balls into the box, aguero would hit a goal drought.

I'm confident afobe will hit the ground running and I'd be shocked if he didn't get between 8-10 goals before the end of the season.

I hope you're right DTM. The Bournemouth press reckon he's needed a 2nd touch this season which to me is a confidence thing. A big sigh of relief from all of us when he comes off the bench tomorrow and put's one away.

Didn't Afobe score against Stoke in the league and Middlesbrough in the cup?

Just listened to Nuno and he is so laid back sure he said nothing exciting about Afobe but he stressed the work ethic needed to get a place in the team and the reason for signing him he says Sheffield isn't about revenge it's about winning as against any team yeah so he is not singling out anyone he never does and won't do that with Afobe.

Patience. I truly believe this will help all the players in an attacking sense. It takes the pressure from them (Jota, bonatini and Costa) with the addition of Afobe with swagger then it could be interesting. There are many games where I have thought Afobe could do something in games this season. Either hold the ball up, run at a defender or play a team mate in. Let’s hope he can and everyone can benefit from it!

He will probably come on for the last 20 minutes, if Nuno thinks he's fit enough (I watched that interview too) . Although I wonder if Nuno will play him and Leo at the same time. We need Jota and Costa or Cav to work from the sides of the box, and the 343 structure is pretty set in stone. Exciting!

I think afobe will thrive with the quality players he has around him, he has the extra pace and power we need, he could have been the difference in those 0-0 draws ageist Barnsley and Sunderland etc 👍.
