I suppose being a bit miserable is in the Wolverhampton nature however, given what happened and our ( the fans ) expectation the reactions understandable. If we still had Morgan and Jackett we would not have the same high expectations as we do with Fosun and Nuno. Not entirely sure we should be so worried at the moment, just let this revolution run a little longer before we all hang our heads in our hands. FWAW.

Jeff Shi says signing a striker wasn't a priority! Well I guess we will all wait, with baited breathe, until the end of the season to review that comment. Let's hope he's right eh? I think that must have been said with tongue very much in cheek! How many successful teams do we know that don't operate with at least one quality striker? Mind the word successful!

Hmmmm! 😉⚽️👍.

Why can't we put the trust in bonatini and the academy players? I cannot understand the negativity.

In a way we're sort of playing a 3-4-3 with a centre forward rather than a striker, with pacey, tricky wingers on the side I'd say that's the reason why signing a striker wasn't a top priority. Though I see why we went for locadia as he is similar to bontani as he's strong, that's why I believe if goals aren't firing in, by that I don't mean a striker getting 10-12 goals I mean all around the pitch, I think we will sign diakite as he's the same as locadia as he's strong!

I'm actually an optimistic sort really, cup half full etc etc! Just on the striker front, think I'm being realistic! I want success as much as all Wolves supporters, but time will tell won't it?

Nuno can do it if anyone can. I'm impressed with him that's for sure. He's taken the knife out and done what we all know needed to be done. ⚽️😉👍.

it was never an issue with me. this team is more than capable of goals in every department. bonatini seems to have been written off by some and zyro for that matter. let us hope they distance themselves from social media because some of the comments i have seen must be like a dagger in the back to these young lads.
the whole `deadline day` is nothing but media bull. shame on the people who get sucked into it and shame on the presstitutes who get paid for performing fiction as if it were truth.

Platok totally agree that the media circus and blatant falsehoods presented as news around the transfer window is an insult to the hard earned priceless privilege of free press. But the cynic in me wonders if we get the media we deserve. No readers no publication.

Our original choice for manager, Julen Lopetegui, faced Italy with a Spanish lineup with no striker, and beat them 3 - 0. Fluid front three which is what we have, all with the capacity of scoring goals.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion here and therefore I ask that some of you don't shoot me down. I am concerned about the failure to sign a striker and believe that Edwards and Dicko should not have been sold . I have many friends up and down the country who support other clubs and rate Edwards and Dicko highly. I don't hold blind faith in the manager/ owners as some and I do fear a repeat of the Zenga story, a good start until tough opponents figured out they just had to play tough to stop our highly skilled players playing ( Cardiff) . If we are not in the top 6 at Xmas Nunu will be gone and the owners will consider their position. A resounding win against Millwall needed.

I won't shout you down Northbank but exactly how many times have your friends watched Edwards and Dicko live at games? I'd hazard a guess at very close to zero (post cruciate injury for Dicko as that did for him) if they rate both highly. My dustbin runs Edwards close for the ability to control a football and for all his goals his sloppy midfield play probably led to many more being conceded. Neither anywhere good enough in my opinion or Nuno' s and it's his that counts.

Quite agree Wulf. Dicko has not shown that he is back to his best in front of goal. Edwards, nice guy gives 100% but not good enough IMO. The best pointer in the game though!

Old Wolf, I see Edwards (7.5) had a higher rating than Ramsey (7.0) for the Wales game - someone must think he could outplay your dustbin.

North bank62 - ah but have you seen Old Wulf's dustbin play? I know many people up and down the country who 'wheelie' rate his dustbin and it has been known to score 8/ 10 on occasions.

That's Rubbish. so if we had Nouha Dicko, Old wolf had Nouha Tashes then? 🤔.

I don't think we should be negative, but equally we shouldn't be blindly positive. It will be interesting to see how we approach games as Santo has stated we will play our way whatever the opposition is doing.

If more teams play against us like Cardiff did it will be interesting to see how Santo responds. Cardiff got it spot on by having there fullbacks staying back and denying the space behind for Neves to pass in to for our wing backs. If the this fluid front three doesn't work how will Santo change it?

This isn't me being negative. While we have started well there will be a lot more questions to answer in the coming months.

I agree Clive shall we say a note of cautious optimism?
Nuno is a far better coach than Zenga just look how the team have picked up his style of play.
Read the article on Nuno by the Sky wolves fan it's a good insight to the man. But we were Warnocked and he has to find a plan B that can positively respond to the tactics.
Edwards? Agree with selling just did not FIT into the style of Nunos play.
Dicko? We should have held on until he was definitely surplus to requirements.

I thought when we sold dicko we already had a striker lined up Jeff ship stating that signing a striker was not there priority but they did try and sign one. but got let down I think that is going to cost us at the end of season shoot me down for being negative but hope I'm wrong but we not going to go up a lot of teams in the division now how to play us we have got to have a plan b.

Think it’s been a shame to lose two of the old guard but such is the price of the teams evolution. Reckon Edwards going was probably as much his call as the clubs, its World Cup year so he has to be thinking on that and simply coming on for 20 mins once a week isn’t going to guarantee his national start. Also you have to look at it from the clubs view, he’s 31 and out of contract at the end of the season were they likely to renew with all the youngsters we are signing…. unlikely. Also for those saying how much other clubs rate him well he went for £1m and at such a bargain they didn’t seem to be cueing up now did they? Lovely guy and consummate professional which is why it’s a shame to lose him but probably best for both party’s. Besides Dave deserves a chance to be playing regular at this stage in his career and if that’s not here then selling him is the kindest thing.
As for Dicko kind of similar, everyone’s saying ‘why sell’ (said it myself a few weeks back) …but fact is if Nuno doesn’t think he suits the system then where’s the point in keeping him? Besides which as much as I like the guy he’s just not great in front of goal. Also it has to be noted that we did keep Wilson at the club as a result and that’s no bad thing. How many bemoan every goal scored by Vokes, Gray and Winnall saying ‘should have kept them’ well to ‘keep them’ they need to get game time otherwise that’s when they get bored go elsewhere for it! Much sooner give Wilson a chance who at this stage has unknown potential than lose him for the sake of giving Dicko game time when we all know Dicko will only ever be a bit part player at best! Just my take on it but there ya go COYW ;)

Okay a striker wasn't signed and I trust Nuno with developing the front three and seeing the combinations he comes up with. However Ndiaye didn't exactly excite me when announced either. Surely we could have gone after a Joe Ledley or to a point Mulumbu (I know he ex Sandwell town) but these two would do a job for us and get the midfield organised in periods of onslaught like against Cardiff. Also if we were after Gayle, Rhodes and Oliveira surely we should have offered more for afobe with the fact he is younger and has done it before in the championship personally 18m seems cheap if we are a step closer to premiership football and the fortunes that come with it.

{Ed001's Note - I must be in need of a break from the comp, I read that post and thought it said you were after Gary Rhodes! I was trying to figure out why on earth Wolves were after a TV chef.}

Fully agree BullysBoy.
I'm a trader and when I sell stock to another trader I'm not going to spend my life worrying that the other trader may do well out of it. My motto is to keep improving my stock with every sale I make by replacing it with something better. And you know what, it doesn't cost a lot as I do better with better stock in the long run. Same with football players I believe.

Edwards' move made perfect sense all round. With Dicko I think there was a disciplinary issue somewhere recently (his most recent injury was allegedly a smokescreen) and this may have hastened his departure.

ED001, I think I need a break from it too!

TV chef? Maybe, Gordon Ramsay was quite a useful footballer in his time. He's a free agent too, sign him up. He'd effin give some stick to referees.

{Ed001's Note - that would be fun to watch.}
