Mendes at the game today, i believe he was here to sort the Soares transfer which may well be a loan deal. Also at Molineux the agent of Nathael Julan. sitting near Mendes. I expect both transfers to go through before deadline day. Julan first.

Be good havin two more strikers in but unless we control the midfield the wing backs are less effective creatin fewer chances for our strikers as the Cardiff game showed.

Yesterday showed a few things. I respect Mendes for saying go for it with the wing backs and the plan was to pin the two attacking wingers back. This didn't work out for a few reasons. Firstly bonatini was knackered he did a good job in the goal and he showed good touches but he didn't do what zahore did on more occassions which was hold the ball up, turn and run and our back three. He made coady and Miranda look average. As we couldn't hold the ball up this meant we were over run in midfield. Saiss and neves did well in hard circumstances. And Cardiff should of had a man sent of. The fact santo has come out and said that after the game wins more respect from me and he's not been polite and states facts. I also thought the tackle on neves was a red card in the first half when the Cardiff player went in two footed. Those decisions change game and not to have one of them is very disappointing. Wolves do need protection especially from that sort of anti football tactics. A big striker similar to zahore is needed. I'm not sure out of the ones linked would do that job.

As I said on here 2 weeks ago Tiquinho Soares is all but done and dusted. Not sure about the Julan rumours. Two for sure would be good. Looks likely Mason will be sold and Zyro loaned out.

I've been supporting wol since the 1950s there was hard tough tackling players Norman hunter Peter storey Bobby stiles etc they all played a fare game yesterday warnock told his players to knock the crap out of our players so to win at all costs Cardiff did deserve there win but they should have had two players sent off at least football is to b played with the ball passing throwings scoring team game but if a teams want to kick other players off the park then they should invent a game with no football just kick each other out of the game I'm probably being old fashioned.

Essexwolf - you're not being old fashioned. Cardiff were disgraceful. In the first half I couldn't believe what they were doing - the ball was in our half and yet 50 yards away our three forwards were being pushed, jostled, held and kicked. I thought 'ankle tapping' went out along with flared trousers but apparently not.

I likened it to bring viciously mugged by the school bully whilst the teacher held his coat and looked the other way.

The referee was truly abysmal and clearly has absolutely no understanding of football given how he fell for every bit of play acting and time wasting whilst missing every elbow.

Don't no what anybody else thinks but I think we need another midfielder look at yesterday playing against a bit powerful side like Cardiff nearly every player over 6ft and we bring Conner Ronan on.

Bewdley wolf - someone like Prince Oniangue perhaps? Still there as far as I know but frozen out. Thought he looked good at start of last season before Lambert ditched him for being 'foreign'. Big, strong, powerful and a good footballer.

I'm with you DAS Prince could do a job, may not be the smooth footballer type but could mix it and become the enforcer.

Has well as a striker we need another midfielder if Neves gets injured we have nothing the bench needs strengthening.

I agree DAS I think prince is better than what we have on our bench at the moment. I'm not saying Conner or price am bad players just need a bit more steel as back up you need it in this league proved it yesterday.

On transfermarkt it says that Soares recovered from a thigh injury 4 days ago but he is not in their team today. Are they not risking him or are we actually in talks to sign him soon?

18.) 20 Aug 2017
20 Aug 2017 19:11:15
To nunos credit he's got he's formation and system and signed players that want to play entertaining football understandedbly he wants to keep that and doesn't want stoop down to that level of tactics from warlock that's a good name for him.

19.) 20 Aug 2017

Prince wasn't ditched for being foreign, he was ditched because he's crap. Nuno clearly agrees too.

According to the Beeb, Conte wants to sign Soares.

Mendes don't pick the team?

22.) 20 Aug 2017

Jonzy54 - each to their own opinion of course. For me Oniangue is not crap, far from it. He was doing pretty well under Zenga. Lambert was appointed and he never played again. Lambert preferred the likes of Saville for reasons I will never understand though he did make reference to the fact that we had too many foreign players. Oniangue is big, powerful, strong, can score goals and is quick. In my opinion he is far better than the likes of Price or Edwards and could be, along with Ronan, adequate cover for Saiss and Neves.

23.) 20 Aug 2017
20 Aug 2017 22:36:09
If prince is crap jonzy54 what's Dave Edwards.

24.) 20 Aug 2017
20 Aug 2017 23:19:28
I did correct Dappa.
It was interesting I think at 1-1 we should have took the point but we opened up even more and lost our shape which was disappointing. As a wolves fan watching the dross of the last 5 seasons I respect Nuno for going for the win. But I hope he and the squad have learnt it's not going to be a push over season.

In terms of recruits it's hard players would rather sit on the bench in the prem for 30k more than play a limited number of games in the championship as our first 11 is pretty strong. We do also have Costa and Marshall to come back. I thought neves did fine with the physicality of the match.

But the wing backs were found out and that was because three were played in the middle by Cardiff meaning they could be doubled up on as the two attacking wingers did there defensive duties excellently. Wolves need a plan b. If this happens again maybe 4-5-1 and drop coady into midfield like a matic type of player. Or at 1-1 we give them possession then hit teams on the counter. But a striker is needed to hold the ball up to do that bonatini and dicko can't do it with enough guile.
