Article on HITC re Patrick Bamford.

With M'boro already bolstering their front line this summer, surely worth a look?

No thanks. He's lost the spark he had a few years ago. We can do better.

Sorry not my first choice mate. just think he's not good enough for what we trying to achieve. Prefer andre gray and gallagcher.

Totally agree Greyleg.

Out of our choices what would would fans like to see?

My order from recent speculation would be:
1. Vincent Aboubaker (strong, young, record is good)

2. Afobe (good link up play with dicko and record was good in championship, crying for him in games such as blues, burton, Rotherham, Blackburn anyone at home really last season :) )

3. Gray similar to dicko allows us to play one up front record was good but not sure about now.

4. Gallagher a lot to prove may be too big a challenge a promotion push.

5. Mitrogl. Greek striker at benfica formerly Fulham player good record but is he up for two games a week and been bullied and the little games the championship managers and players play?
Diego Costa-unlikely.

Would love to see Gray but think more likely to stay in prem.

Think Gallagher realistic and could do a job but whether he could do it for a full season remains to be seen.

Would expect Afobe to come back, but would welcome him if he put the effort in and did the job.

Don't know enough on Aboubaker to comment.

Wasn't impressed with Mitroglu at Fulham, but only a few games etc so not really fair for me to condemn him on that - and from what's been said he's got a good overall record.

Diego Costa beyond unlikely, whatever the connections.

I think more likely to see Gallagher and one more from abroad that is more unheard of (if 2).

Looking forward to this season more than ever. Important to not get on their backs if we don't start as hot as hoped though!

I see big mick moaning about us spending big at the end of the day we have deserved this us loyal fans the have seen Morgan and moxey filling us with false hope year after year.

Mick spent a fair bit himself and look at the players we got back then useless deadwood. Should have been sacked in 2011.

28 Jul 2017 08:32:50
I wouldn't go tht far he did get us to the prem fair play to him on tht front and he didn't spend 47 million like now so I still like him.

Never forgive him after 5 1 against the baggies Johnson, Ohara etc killed us for a few seasons.

To be fair to Big Mick he got us promoted with little money. Only trouble is that neither he nor the owner were equipped for the Premier League. Yes, they spent relatively big on a few players, but the wrong players. Morgan wanted to build stands rather than build a team. How we survived 3 years in the PL was a minor miracle but also a crying shame that we couldn't see the wood for the trees.

What very short memories some people have! Mick McCarthy was a brilliant manager for us. Inherited a total shambles after that arse Hoddle walked out and got us into the play-offs the first year and promoted as Champions in only his third season whilst playing exciting attacking football. Unearthed some brilliant players like Matty Jarvis and Michael Kightly and brought in excellent players at the time like Karl Henry, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Foley etc. He was working under Morgan and Moxey too of course so was never give loads to spend - we definitely didn't spend big money relatively even when in the PL. After the 1-5 Sandwell defeat we dropped into the bottom 3 for the first time that season - and look what happened after that once he'd gone. If Morgan and Moxey, who were both scared of Mick, hadn't taken the opportunity to sack him I am convinced he would have kept up. I guess everyone on here wouldn't mind beating Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs again - would you?

Well said DAS. Short memory syndrome with some fans. mick deserves nothing but thanks and utmost respect.

The 2 M's did the right thing sackin McCarthy as he'd peaked and he would of got us relegated. He should of gone after the Blackburn game end of last season before. The two M's balls up was appointing Connor instead of stickin with Bruce and ignorin Wolves fans moans! Anyway that's all in the past so best leavin it there! 👍 The Futures Bright The Futures Fosun 👍.

I misread that then as peter andre Greylegwolf lol.

Humphy mate today's market. Johnson 10 million, O'Hara 12 million, Hunt 8 million, Doyle 14 million, Fletcher 15 million.

16.) 28 Jul 2017
28 Jul 2017 11:42:38
Pretty sure we were second highest spenders behind man city when we got Fletcher n that. Mick got us up there but as Paul said he should have had sack after Blackburn the primadonnas that Mick took on killed us, again like Paul said let's forget about those times it's Fosuns turn 😎🖒🖒.

28 Jul 2017 12:00:36
Lmao. even in today's market I don't agree with some of those figures. As for mick, yeah maybe it was time to move on, but unless there was a definite plan b in place, he should have been given till end of season, as it would have been a better option than the debacle that followed. Mick will always have my thanks and respect for the job he did at the time.

18.) 28 Jul 2017
28 Jul 2017 12:21:02
Yh rite those players wouldn't cost 15 million for all ov them mate.

Mick deserves more respect. As stated earlier after losing like we did to Sandwell town there were only 6 points between us and it was the first time we had been in bottom 3. Morgan expected more for less investment. Unfortunately football isn't like redrow. Mick also got a lot for his money in terms of his signings and did go after Moses, Lallana for example but moxey did his bosses dirty work. Don't get me wrong moxey did have a clue how to treat fans. And the last 12 months is refreshing to see after years of dogma.
I'd say two strikers afobe to support dicko and another strong lone striker would be bliss. An aggressive midfielder is a must though stronger teams will over power us at the minute. UTW.

28 Jul 2017 13:09:24
Good un rated. maybe we could sign him for half time e tertainment. 😁😁😁😁.

21.) 28 Jul 2017
28 Jul 2017 14:09:31
It was pointless sacking McCarthy when we lost to the PJ wearing. They then replaced him with his number 2 Terry Connor. Absolutely no logic what so ever. Glad M and M gone here up to Fosun.

22.) 28 Jul 2017
28 Jul 2017 15:04:38
It was only pointless because of the bloke they gave the job to.

23.) 28 Jul 2017
28 Jul 2017 22:36:48
Which is my point. don't replace someone who's doing bad with someone even worse or unproven and lacks experience. Which they did not once. Not twice but three times. Connor. solbaken. Saunders all calamity appointments done on the cheap.

24.) 29 Jul 2017
29 Jul 2017 08:47:59
Under MM we also tried to sign Andy Carroll and Gareth Bale. A bit of luck and more ambition and Wolves could have remained in the Prem. As we know it went terribly wrong following Micks departure!

Anyone slating big Mick is a joker themself, straight talking bloke that gave his all. Doesn't deserve grief several years later.
