Reports now saying PL has stated we aren't looking to buy a centre back and if Marshall doesn't happen then NO business will be done.

Absolute joke.20000 fans each home game can see how bad our centre backs are and that's a priority.
Led down the garden path again.

if that is true pompey wolf lambert must be blind taking advantage of the loyalty of us fans protest required me thinks!

Knickers get your knickers out 😂 😂 😂 read / listen to the whole interview. PL is as honest as he can be, we DO have some good kids, we do need to move some players on.
we only need 2 or three quality players not more average patience please!

I think PL has been lied to by the Board about their plans. Can see him walking away at the end of the season like he did at Blackburn.

I think everybody needs to chill out. Stop reading headlines and actually read the full story. Not a massive fan of Lambert but he's talking sense, we have too many players, we have 6 centre backs and 2 positions the state of the squad at the moment is ridiculous. We need to sell before we buy, it's as simple as that, not because of funds because of how large the squad is. We can forget this season now, I'm confident that with Lambert we won't go down and there is no chance of play offs, so why not get rid of 3-6 players in this window and start fresh in the summer, January is known for players being brought over their market value, so why waste cash and over load the squad more? Patience is key

There are simply too many defenders and midfielders at the club who need to be moved on. Once this is done, others who can improve us can be added. I think the most important signing PL will make is on the backroom staff.

He said we've got 7 centre back at the club and why would we want more. well I'll tell you why is because none of them are good enough. you could play em all and they'd still concede. theyr like watching the keystone cops. not long ago he was saying he was looking to bring players in to give us some help. well it's the back four that needs it the most

I am now convinced that Fosun set a transfer budget at the beginning of the season and Jeff Shi got carried away (with help from certain quarters) and blew it all.
We are now it seems being run like a business and need to balance the books first. Same old, same old

Football is now a business wether you like it or not. It's not same old same old because we (as a business) have a lot more money behind us. Why are our fans so negative all the time, the fans negativity cannot help Shi Lambert and the players.

couldn't agree more must be the air around Wolvo. Am glad I left all those years ago

15 Players PL doesn't want:

Defenders: EEL, Silvio, Deslandes, Iorfa, Hause
Midfielders: Texiera, Evans, Saville, Oniangue
Wingers: John, Costa, Wallace, Henry
Strikers: Gladon, Mason

Personally I would add Batth, Stearman and Price to that list but PL seems to like them.

So you're telling me paul lambert doesn't want our best player in Costa? And also our most consistent player in jack price?

13.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 15:05:50
i agree mitch price is one of our main players in the mid and costa is one of our best players, ill tell you who I do want out, dicko he is just playing rubbish. PL needs to give him a rest because he hasn't even scored in 8 or so games. I would play bodvarsson as he puts the effort in and he can actually win a header unlike dicko. Dicko isn't the same player as he was before his injury, I think he needs to move on.

14.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 15:07:01
Your also telling me he would keep the crap defenders and lose the better ones.

15.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 15:34:01
I only said Costa because he's going back after April anyway. They definitely won't pay the £10m Benfica want. Sorry for disturbing the Price happy clappers, as per usual.

16.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 16:09:07
Price happy clappers? Tell me a player who has played more consistently than price?

17.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 16:16:35
Got to keep Price but most of the others can go I would like to see Oniangue play again I don't think we have seen the best of him yet I would keep Mason too unless we sign a better striker

18.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 16:59:40
Price is not the answer with Edwards next to him in a defensive midfield role. Edwards ventures too far forward, which he's good at by the goals he scores, and this leaves Price exposed. Some similar to MacDonald next Price would help him.

19.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 17:55:59
Edwards should only be played in a midfield 5 as he's more like a striker - he and Price can be supported in this formation. Price and Edwards in a 4-4-2, however, just doesn't work. Far too much space is created as a result.

20.) 06 Jan 2017
06 Jan 2017 19:00:23
Yes Edwards does go forwards too much so he should play in the number 10 behind the striker where bright and mason have been playing in the past couple of games. And we do need another cm like McDonald alongside price, but we won't buy another cm got too many rubbish ones

I know, I absolutely hate the way everyone goes on about needing a striker when you've already got Edwards doing it. They are better off looking for a tough midfielder and just get used to playing 4-2-3-1 in every game. We all know that if you play Edwards, you HAVE to play that way, lol.
